Musings and Meowings

Subject: Musings and Meowings

Date: Mon, Oct 27, 1997 8:47 PM

From: Cdr BluRox

:Blu sat in the command chair in the center of the bridge, not for the first time, but for the first time with the weight of command on her shoulders.  Pivoting her ears slightly, as to catch the brief acknowledgments of those around her to their various staff, she watched them gearing the ship up to combat readiness.  Twitching a whisker, she calmly ruffed back the fur on her forehead, and watched the readout on the armpad::

::And although the crew was busy, she felt this strange feeling that she would be  scrutinized anew.  Her grandmother would have been proud, Mreen had told her she could make something of herself.  However, right now, she'd love to talk to Ann, and let her know just how worried she was about this new post.  She had originally entered Security, and then Command Track, at her grandmothers urging, as it was a proven method to move into a diplomatic job

later in life.  But now...now she was worried if she could really do it, and knew that she couldn't talk to anyone about her worries.  That's all the crew would need, to find out they had a commander that doubted her own abilities. No...she'd just keep her feelings to herself for the time being. ::

::What suprised her most, was that she recieved this appointment...she had just assumed that after the last mission, that fleet would go with Tkai, with his engineering skills and knowing the workings of the ships so well.  She...well she only had defensive/offensive skills, people skills and such...but maybe, with the war in progress, that was what they needed, or that they just couldn't spare such a skilled engineer to waste time sitting on a

bridge.  Well, all she could do, was try her best, and to look to the Vice Admiral and learn from him....he wasn't a vice admiral for nothing...Best to keep an eye on his tactics and ideas.::
