such is war...

Subject: such is war...

Date: Tue, Oct 21, 1997 5:26 PM

From: Dr Flip1

Flip nodded. " I understand Doctor Stewart,  I will prepare the triage teams immediately,  of course; with your permission."

And with a nod of his commanding officer, Dr. Montoya stepped out of Dr. Stewart's office,  handed a medical technician a PADD with certain instuctions, and after notifying certain key medical personnel, sickbay was flooded with activity. Dr. Flip assigned emergency triage teams to vital parts of the ship, such as the bridge, and engeneering,  also had planned on using cargo bays near the shuttle bays as emergency centers, to handle possible

incoming injuries from the Calvary or any other runabout missions.  Dr. Flip remembered to place a request to Engeneering for them to readjust side to side transporters for medical use.  He asked another medical technician to recheck sickbay's backup power supply, a single fusion reactor,  which he found out was still operational.

After seeing that the emergency surgical teams were well stocked and breifed of the coming mission, Dr. Flip saw that he had only three fully functional surgical teams,  the remaining three were only manned to handle level two emergencies,  fractures,  minor contusions , moderate lacerations.  That will have to do,  radiation burns,  severe internal bleeding will have to be absorbed by the three fully functional surgical teams.  Maybe he could

activate the EMH program in a holodeck,  if approved, but that consumes too much power, and in battle, power is needed most with weapons and shields.  Or at least he thought so.

At this moment, Dr. Montoya stopped and watched the med teams prepare for the coming battle.  Even with all the triage teams set, biobeds checked,  stasis chambers primed,  and all the talent of the medical staff combined,  He felt there will be some who they won't be able to save,  fellow crew mates who they will  fail to save. Flip shook his head.  Such is war...
