Vectra Meriva

On the Hunt

"On the Hunt"

Log entry 79 - 21

Cautiouslly, Vectra followed Lo'Ami with his phaser drawn with one hand, and scanning for the changeling's lifesigns with the other. As anyone whose come in contact with changelings, they could tell you that it was mighty hard trying to find them. Especially, when they could change into anything.

A bulkhead perhaps? Or maybe a console? Or some crewman walking about.. Maybe even pose as a member of the Arcadia crew, as this particular changeling did twice. Once to frame Captain Moose on the murder of the station commander, and the second, masquerading as N'Dak and attacking Commander Dacotah.

One didn't know what to expect, from this mysterious race. Vectra tried reaching out the changeling trying to feel for his mind, and pinpoint his locations and feelings from there, but he pretty much came up short. Clever bastards.. thought Vectra. Settled to do it the old fashioned way, Vectra combed the area with LoAmi and the others.

Essentially, trying to search for the proverbial needle in the proverbial haystack. And so far, he was having quite a hard time of it. But after each Arcadia crew member tested, he was glad in the fact that the changeling wasn't posing as one of his comrades again. Vectra slowly moved the tricorder to get a life sign reading.

Feeling like hunters on an excursion, this reminded Vectra of fox hunting back home in England. Boy, it was hard trying to nab those foxes. They were clever and cunning animals, that seemed to excel at outsmarting both hunter and hound and make a hasty retreat to freedom.

But, despite the tactics the foxes used to get away from the hunters, more often than not Vectra was successful in capturing his intended target. Though the situation is different, he inwardly hoped his hunting streak would remain intact.
