I would suggest first, read and go over the rules and regulations of STSF,and

second go to moose's tips and get an understanding of how it works here, and

go to the academy simms, and enjoy yourself, you will graduate some day and

have the oppurtunity to join an advanced sim when you have in the opinion of the GM staff grown to the level to be assigned to a ship and be able to be

an intregal part of that sim/ship and crew,in the meantime welcome to STSF

and welcome aboard look forward to seeing you around ...

Hi and welcome to STSF!

As the others have already pointed out, your first step is to go through the academy system. Before you go your first time, you should read the rules, and take a look at the schedule to find out when and in which room the academies run. (Note: the times are listed in Eastern and Pacific times. You may have to do some conversions if you live in a different time zone). You have to "graduate" from the academy before you can join one of our "advanced sim" ships. The graduation requirements are listed in detail elsewhere, but, basically, you have to show up and demonstrate that you know the conventions of simming, know who's responsible for what, can contribute to plot development, and can work with others as a member of a team.

To get to the chat room, hit the "Chat Rooms" button from the message boards (all the way to the right and under the STSF logo banner). The chat rooms require a Java-capable system.

If you want to learn more about simming beyond the basic rules, check out Tips From the Moose, a collection of hints from one of our GMs (game masters).

Hello. I am the STSF Resident Egomaniac, and I would like to welcome you to the Star Trek Simulation Forum at stsf.net (as opposed to stsf.com; try simming there :P !) Just remember that the secret to simming is to have fun and the secret word is "mesoscale".

May you die well. ;)

Hello and Welcome to STSF. This is a good crew here.

Only thing you need to watch out for is the T'Venus SFly'Trap - it was brought here by the Rihannsu and placed in the Lobby - it snaps.

Check out the Moose Tips, Help, and Rules sections. Once you do venture into an academy, the GM's and fellow players are great helpers. And you have fun at the same time, so it's all good.

And don't believe all these crazy rumors about cadets getting killed by the GM's in the acad...**AHHHHHHHH** **MRRPHHHHH** !!!

<ACTION> Kansas is attacked by the T'Venus SFy'Trap

Happy Simming!

- Kansas >^..^<

Hey I saw you in the Acad tonight, not a bad start. I hope to see you around!!!

::See's Elgore, and Kansas:: I thought I told you boy's to play nice? ::Strokes the Plant:: Good boy! Let the boy's go, that's it.

ACTION: The pland releases it's captives.

Now, May this be a lesson to you both! If you can't play nice together, then stay away!
