"Apologies and Forgiveness"

"Apologies and Forgiveness"

Erei'Riov t'Aehjae and Erein t'Jhiin

Joint Log

January 9, 23--

Sar'vek squinted at the air where the purple-toned alien had stood a few moments before and attempted a sigh of relief without pain reverberating throughout her ribcage. The pain medications weren't helping as much as she would have liked, and even breathing was painful.

She turned to look at the one who attacked her. Not even an alien intruder, but one of their own... a fellow Rihan. She didn't even know her name, but she felt a certain urge to enact revenge for the dagger wound...

t'Aehjae walked over to Sarvek, knowing that she injured her. It was not intentional, and she hoped the young Erein would allow her to apologize to her. "How are au feeling?" She stooped down, kneeling next to the young officer.

t'Jhiin had a greater urge to scratch the woman's face with her nails than to speak, but she restrained herself. "Never felt better, considering that I had a knife in my ribs. And whose fault was that, again?" she asked sarcastically.

t'Aehjae felt really bad now. This was not the type of officer she was. "I know au are upset with me and au have every right, but I wish au to know that it was na intentional. I did na know the intruder would try using au as a shield. I wish to apologize to au. I hope au can forgive me. If na, I understand."

Sar'vek sat up, even though it pained her to do so. Her assailant seemed genuinely apologetic, and it was not in the scientist's nature to hold a grudge. "I suppose that au made the best decision that au could have, given the circumstances." She nodded. "Apology accepted, Erei'Riov... I'm afraid I don't even know aus name."

"I am t'Aehjae. Au have nothing to worry about. A full report will be written up by Security. I feel I will suffer for my actions. I wished for au to know that I am sorry for my assault on au." t'Aehjae looked to the ground ashamed of having injured another Rihan. The consequences of her actions also worried her. She would turn herself in to the Dheno and save them the trouble of looking for her.

Sar'vek nodded. "And if there is anything that I can say on aus behalf, I would be more than glad to do so. Au were taking the necessary precautions to protect the Talon, and the intruder, not au, was responsible for the injury." She was surprised how quickly she had forgiven ... t'Aehjae. But then again, she had always known in the back of her mind that it wasn't really the other woman's fault. But when in pain, it's best to have a face to blame it on, she supposed.

"I thank au for the offer but I am na sure it would do any good. We shall see though, I guess. I will turn myself in to the Dheno, and the Enerrien will then set punishment. io can only hope I will na be yy'aa for my offense. I just wished au to know how I felt. I will leave au be so au can heal." t'Aehjae stood and began to walk away from the young officer.

t'Jhiin nodded. "I am certain that the Enerrien would not be that harsh for something that was obviously an accident."

"Io can only hope," t'Aehjae said, turning back to the woman on the bed. "Ah, rest Au are in good healing hands of the maenak We shall see if I will be taken to the torture arena or na." t'Aehjae turned away from the woman again and began to walk away. "Good day Erein." t'Aehjae then walked out of the room, leaving the officer to wonder...
