SciFi Fridays Are Back!

61 posts in this topic

There was a nother sci fi fiiday thread but i can't find it so here is a new one for the new seasons. Frist off Stargate and Atlantis had really good openers. but BSG takes the cake, what a thriler! It caused so much stress on my heart.

And next week is gona bring more, but i don't think i can wait a week!

Yeah, BSG was good. But there is one fatal flaw in President Rosalin's leadership: She knows she has a month left to live at most. Why is she not informing Vice President Baltar of this and letting him get ready for his new job?

I don’t think she is confident in him as a leader. She only used him to get rid of the completion for the presidential race. She also has a lot on her plate with the Silons and trying to keep the new fleet to not go to war with each other.

I did like how her sickness pushed her to be more cutthroat when it came to the new Admiral.

That may be because Rosalin knows that if Cain succeeds in destroying Adama that whoever is President at that time will be next, and even with cancer she can stand up to Cain better than Baltar. She wants to solve this problem before Baltar has to because he won't.

Whether Rosalin has confidence in Baltar or not he is the elected Vice President, and she better start bringing him into the loop. You know that Zarek or Cain or Tigh or maybe even Adama will walk over him if he isn't prepared.

Very few people know about Rosalins condition, she might fee this might not be the right time to tell Baltar.

Its to bad that the only humans left in the galaxy find some way to go to war with each other.

Possibly because he is a git?

I mean the man is responsible for the Cylons gaining a foothold, explored way back in the pilot episode. He has flown under the radar this long. He lies concerning that Cylon detector of his. He has constant "moments" with 6, and you can't tell if it's him being a loon or a chip in his brain sending images.

Major kudos to the actor - I just wanna see someone beat the stuffing out of him, then I'll be happy -and again, kudos to the actor for getting me to this point.

I'm concerned about the Commander asking Starbuck to....... well you know. If Starbuck does it, then they will be just as bad as the Admiral.

I just love the plot, don't you!!!!

That depends on your cable/dish provider and your area. Best bet is to check a TV Guide or something.

BSG is the only SciFi show I watch, but it was pure AWESOME last night!

According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello (Best columnnist - EVER), the 13th's episode is "one of the most perfect hours of television I've I seen". And a scene between Cain and Starbuck "will blow your frakkin' mind." And there's a goose-pimply scene in it too B)

5 and half more days! B)

I thought all three premires were kind of weak.

The Fourth Horseman, part I does everything possible to set up a giant climactic event, and then in part II, it just sort of fizzles out into a "Eh, we got'em that time." SG-1's premires have been rather lackluster, considering they haven't have a two part season finale/premiere since the end of Season 4 with Exodus/Enemies. I still firmly believe however, that SG-1's best two parter remains Summit/Last Stand.

I also thought Evolution parts I and II, and Endgame/Gemini were two rather weak midway finales and premieres also..but thats just me.

Same problems for Atlantis's second half premiere. However, Im really looking forward to the rest of Season Two, and considering that I know the rest of the plot line, it should be interesting to say the least, when the Wraith Civil war heats up.

BSG faces the same issues as the other two, however, they do a good job covering it up. With the multiple story lines of Glactica/Pegasus, Tyrol/Heilo, Baltar/like the 3rd number six, and numerous others your kept on the edge of your seat. Switching between all these events keeps all the other stories fresh and interesting, which is why BSG gets my nod for the night.

Yeah I agree with you on SG1's season opener. I hope they make it up later on, it seemed way to easy to get ride of the virus. I was wondering how they were going do it. When i looked at the clock there was 6 min left in the episode and i was like, huh is this a three parter? then they magically got saved at the last second so i was a bit let down.

I also give BSG for the best opener.

Well, after having just checked my sources, I must say, that SG-1's greatest Episode this second half may be "Ripple Effect", at least from a fandom sense  (I aint giving away anymore B))

Other then that, I'm looknig forward to "Ethon" which will be a follow up to Season 8's "Icon". In Greek Mythology, Ethon was the eagle that gnawed the liver of Prometheus, so heres to hoping for some massive space fight or something B)

As for Atlantis, I'm setting my hopes for "Grace Under Pressure" Which will be another good Fandom eppisode. "The Long Goodbye" also looks like it could be a good eppisode, if the idea behind it plays well.

SPOILER ALERT

'Grace Under Pressure' is hilarious. A pure cross between 'Shuttlepod One' and 'Doctor's Order's', the ENT episodes.

I LOVED the new Battlestar G! I though these past two episodes were great. and I also like the fact that they have the chicky who plays Ro Lauren as the Admiral COing the Pegasus.

Yes Michelle Forbes did an admirable guest spot as Admiral Cain. I enjoyed the Resurrection ship Epi's. The ship fan in me wanted the space battle to be a bit more expanded; but the creators have made it clear character issues not Galactica Tech are their top priority. Which is probably why the show is getting great reviews.

But MAN, did Michelle Forbes age badly! Remember how young she looked in TNG and here she is now looking older than Olmos who is almost 60!
