Chell Reno Peronal Log

"Life Lessons"

Chell Reno Personal Log.

Begin Log...

A bright light snaps on over head of the small chair that I was strapped to. The rest of the room went completely dark. The same cop who had arrested me made sure I was strapped in place leaned over me and yelled in my face.

"What is your name and were are you from?!"

I looked him back squarly in the eye trying not to gag from his stinking breath.

"Lieutenant Chell Reno. AMO. USS Morningstar. Service number K4-389674. When may I contact my superiors?"

The cop ignored the question.

"Why were you in the business district causing such a distraction from the daily lives of our citizens?"

" I assure you. I meant no harm. Hell!, I didn't even know I was committing a crime. Just trying to get to know you locals! Granted my ways may be a little strange or unorthodox but once again I had no idea I was breaking your law!"

The Cop lightens up a bit and stands up straight since he was leaning over me.

"Since you are new here i will let you have one call to your superiors. They will have to come down here and pick you up and fill out a report. then you are to go back to your ship and not come to the surface again."

I nod and take back my comm badge. The cop turns and leaves the room. A loud thud echos as the door shuts and the straps holding me down are relieced. As soon as the cop is gone I tap my CB.

"Reno to Delgado. Ummm.. Cmdr... I'm kinda in a little trouble."

I wait a few seconds then I hear Delgado's voice on the other end.

"Well get out of trouble! I've got my hands full here!"

I swear in Bolian under my breath.

"umm sir that's easier said then done. I'm being detained by the local authorities."

"Well I'm sure they have a very good reason to keep you. You'll have to wait till I can help out. Try working the situation out on your own, Delgado out."

I sink back as the link was served and yell at the wall "Damn it Elaine!"

The cop re-reentered the room.

"We were monitoring your communication. Until you can get someone to come down here then you will have to be placed in a cell. Also you have used up your one call. You may not contact anyone again."

I inwardly groan as I am lead into a cell down the hall. The cell had whitewashed walls and was completely bare besides a small counter top and an even smaller cot.

"You will be given 2 meals a day and fresh clothes until someone can pick you up. Good day."

The cop closes the barred door shut with another clang. I take a look around the small room then slump onto the cot. After a few minuets I get restless and start to pase the room. After about 3 hours or so.... I think. Hard to tell time in a cell. Ens. Eagle shows up and bails me out. As we pass the cops I cant help but look in there direction with a not-to-kind stare. I'm amazed at how often I have to remind myself I took an oath to preserve life, not take it. Maby I sould have joined security?...... Anyway We signaled a taxi and took a long ride back to the ship. When I arrived I meet with Cmdr. Delgado and she chewed me out for the stupidity of my actions. I count really blame her as it will show for all of eternity that a full Lt. under her command got arrested on a strange planet during first contact after getting ######-drunk.

I guess it'll be something I can tell my kid about... If I ever have any and teach them the important life leason not to dance on a street corner with ensigns after having a few to many.

Eng Log....
