Welcome Back...Battle Stations!

Murray rematerialized and looked around. He nodded in greeting to the apparently new transporter chief then picked up his gear and walked out of the transporter room. He headed down the corridor in search of his quarters.

Back in his quarters, he began to unpack. His room hadn’t changed, nor was there reason for it to.

“Computer, begin log.”

There’s no place like home. That is absolutely true. It’s great to be back on Reaent instead of living in a dorm at the Academy and a training starship for a month. It shouldn’t take me too long to get settled in. I’m more worried about the structure of the security department. Apparently Mr. Flek left at some point. Rumor has it that I will be given the position of Acting Chief of Security. It should make for quite an experience.

The Reaent is heading for Tholian territory. Apparently there is a coup or some such nonsense going on and we have been dispatched to assist the Supreme Leader’s forces. I’ve never met a Tholian. Supposedly they are a crystalline being of some form or another; their orange, angular bodies can shatter upon death. They require temperatures somewhere in the neighborhood of 450° Celsius. Their language is some sort of clicking and screeching sounds. An interesting species, to say the least.

“Computer, end log.”

Murray grabbed his uniform jacket and left, heading for a turbolift and putting the jacket on as he walked. He stepped onto the bridge and approached the command chair where Commander Ridire was sitting.

“Lieutenant Wimbley Murray reporting for duty, sir.” At the same instant red alert sounded. That’s a heck of way to be welcomed back to duty.
