First Starfleet Post!

Computer...Begin recording personal log, Ensign Frox.

Computer...Make this log entry available to any personell currently commissioned on the USS Arcadia.

===BEGIN RECORDING===

Stardate 10303.19, I just graduated from Starfleet Academy and already I have been assigned as Assistant Engineer on the Arcadia.  I looked forward to serving with Lt.JG Lo'Ami, but he was promoted to full Lt and assigned to CSCI.  Although I am happy for him, and despite only serving with him briefly, I will miss him in engineering.

Hawkins and I installed the new dilithium crytal today, the one we got from the Vogarts.  Everything went as smoothly as I could have imagined.  I can't wait to see what this new, pure crytal can do!

Anyway, the reason why I made this log available to any who want to read it is because I would like to introduce myself.  My full name is Mordan Frox.  I have always hated the name Mordan, so I prefer to be called by my surname.  I am El-Aurian, a mere 223 years old (very young for my race).  I have learned that Dac is also El-Aurian and I look forward to meeting her.  It's been decades since I have seen another of my race.

I also have spent a small amount of time in the Nexus.  Although time has no meaning there, it felt like just a few short years.  Despite the sorrow and pain at leaving, nothing in the Nexus was "real" and I needed the comfort of being in real space-time.  The Nexus was real though... too real, and yet it wasn't.  It's all too difficult to explain.  Only another who has been there can understand my state of mind about this.  Maybe Dac will understand.

Although El-Aurians tend to make the best couselors, I think I have found a niche in engineering and I can't wait till my next duty shift.  Outside the Nexus, this is the first place I've felt that I can call home.

===END RECORDING===
