What? You're a few months shy of 100 and no great-grandkids yet?

My first memory of Star Trek was Spock mind melding with a Horta. I have been hooked ever since.

LOL!

My old man was/is a scifi fan, so eating dinner in front of Lost in Space reruns was standard practice, and then late evenings it was Star Trek with giant bowls of icecream. When the movies and TNG came out my mother shook her head and retreated to the safety of her kitchen. She still hates all the ugly aliens. In college I had a giant TV and a tap into cable, so midnight TOS became a study prize... "If we work two more hours, we can watch Star Trek!" And yes, there were action figures on the desk. "Study, study, study, or bonk bonk bad kid!" was said often too, lol.

You know, I can't believe I missed this thread but eh, heres my Trek "Fix" so to speak...

I was a big Sci-Fi fan even since I was a little kid. What really hooked me on Trek though was waiting for my Dad's tire to get put on his car. We had a blow out when I was six and while we were in the waiting room a rerun of "Spectre of the Gun" was on. I wouldn't let my Dad leave until I had watched the entire episode, lol, and thats when I was interested in it.

I was a casual fan up until my Freshman year of High School when suddenly I got hooked on Voyager. I wasn't a big fan of the series but I found some friends (jocks mind you, not the nerds lol) were fans of the show. Soon we got into debates of the TOS movies which I soon rented to join in on the fun.

TOS became my all time favorite show as Sci-Fi started showing all the reruns. Next thing I knew I was knee deep in TOS books and recording the marathons when they came on. Next thing I knew, I got hooked on TNG as Spike (then known as TNN) put the shows on before WWE Raw. (Was a big wrestling fan.)

So now, 13 years after I first saw "Spectre of the Gun" I am still watching and being the biggest fanatic I can possibly be. B)
