No Hope for Tranquility?

Personal Log Stardate 0502.06

Lt.jg. Arthur Dent

-------------------------------------

The situation in the Cardassian sector was, as far as I could tell, starting to get even tenser. A mystery passenger had arrived on a Cardassian transport, which had then frenetically departed the station, damaging the docking clamps on docking port 2. Then several Cardassian warships had converged upon the fleeing transport, attacking it.

If not for another vessel’s interference, the lives on the transport would have been lost for sure. As it stood now, I could only wonder if the vessel had managed to evacuate the crew of the transport in time.

This confrontation between two factions of Cardassia—that terrorist group and the government, or were there even more players in this game—was just a symptom of the larger problem in the Cardassian sector. As I saw it, the elections would move toward establishing another modicum of stability.

So it seemed that, contrary to his hopes, life on the station would not return to ‘normal’ any time soon. Events on and surrounding Aegis appeared to be coming to a climax, and soon they would pass through the crucible.

Excitement . . . tension . . . trauma. Part of the job . . . I’m not complaining, but my preference would be something quieter. As I grab some food to eat and look at status report of Pylon B, I think, I should have picked another station.
