Mission Brief - 0501.04

MISSION BRIEFING

SKY HARBOR AEGIS

STARDATE 0501.04

It has now been over two weeks since Lieutenant Junior Grade Sabourin and Lieutenant Junior Grade Dent labored to get twenty switches moved into the proper position. It has been two weeks since Lieutenant Commander Quark and company were in a runabout trying to figure out what to do next. Two weeks since Ensign Major made a complicated repair that if left undone could have caused serious problems.

While indeed operational, Sky Harbor Aegis remains a mess to say the least. While primary power is indeed online and functioning, most other systems continue to flicker on and off as if Mr. Demore was trying to turn the station into a giant Christmas tree. Below is just a brief summary of the status. This is in no way binding and other situations may indeed exist that are not mentioned here. Highlights are as follows:

  • Over eighty percent of the station's computer requests are being pushed thru the auxiliary core in the second pylon. The main computer core continues to be highly unstable, often turning even a request for coffee into a four course Klingon meal of gagh.

  • Almost all defensive systems remain useless. Several disrupter batteries are operational and have been successfully tested. Shields are reportedly operational, though attempts to test the system have been hampered by computer problems.

  • Primary docking pylons are almost completely useless. Only two large ship pylons are operational on the docking pylons themselves, with only another eight ports on the pylons operational. Cause for this malfunction is still unknown.

  • Only about one hundred and twenty-five people have actually been able to return back to Aegis. The rest of the crew remain stuck due to massive delays in the redeployment of forces into the Cardassian sector.

  • Long range communications is indeed operational, though a lag time of approximately three days is holding for subspace messages. Non-subspace traffic is being delayed upwards of five to ten minutes on reception.

  • All internal security systems are offline.

  • Primary medical facility on the first pylon is in need of evacuation and cannot be used. Power failures has caused the release of several bacteria. Medical staff should be in the process of getting the Midway medical unit online.

  • The U.S.S. Pandora's Box has been evacuated and is utterly useless. The ship's power grid suffered the full effects of the power surge. With the Aegis drydock facility never repaired since it's destruction, the ship must now be towed to another facility for a complete refit. Estimated time of repair is at least one month.
