Chief Engineer's Log

After our captors on the planet beamed all of us to the same observation room we decided to make an escape attempt.  The crew staged a fight as a diversion - something I'm sure they enjoyed immensely.  Ramjep and I opened the ceiling and crawled through a passage, following the sound to what must have been a central control center.  I observed 3 scientists observing the crew in their room.  They appeared unaware of our presence so Ramjep and I decided to get the drop on them.  I kicked out an air duct and we dropped in on them.  I nerve pinched one of the scientists, and Ramjep engaged another, but the third was able to get to the alarm system before we could stop him.

I employed a Vulcan martial arts technique and subdued the remaining scientist so that I could initiate a mind-meld.  The being I melded with was a low-level scientist, and new to this location so I could not learn much.  I did learn enough to release the rest of our crew mates with Ramjep's assistance, which we did.  We then searched for any remaining shipmates and a way back to the QoB.

The rest of the crew beamed back, leaving Ramjep, myself, and Narn in the complex with their security forces closing in.  Several shipmate's corpses were beamed back before we were.  I assume this was due to either a transporter malfunction or an inexperienced person at the controls. Klingons consider the dead to be empty shells, nothing more, and it would be dishonorable to beam them back before their rescuers.  We have an honorable crew so I don't think this was their intention.

Ramjep and I were engaged in locating any other crewmen while avoiding the security forces when we were beamed back.  We were ordered to change into uniform, resume our duty stations, and prepare our reports, although for some reason Narn was allowed to remain in his gown.  I keep a spare uniform in Main Engineering so that's where I went.  This was not a wise idea as the Klingon and Federation enlisted ranks in Engineering gave wolf-whistles and cat-calls at the sight of seeing their boss walk into his office in a nightgown and no underwear.

After changing into uniform I ran a status report of all engineering systems and discovered we were cloaked, which most likely meant we were at red alert.  I am generally most efficient on the MeH where I can interact directly with the command crew so that's where I headed.  Upon transferring my controls to my MeH station I noticed a familiar looking doctor with the last name Garnoopy, yet another shipmate who had been cleaning a tube for the past couple years.  I attended the Academy with a Garnoopy, first name Admiral, who mentioned he had a twin.  I also served on another ship with a Klingon adopted into the Garnoopy family.  This must be the twin.  I wonder how big the Garnoopy family is.
