Seiben

Waiting 'round the bend

With a final melodic chime, the MAGLEV hover train closed its doors and pulled out of the station. Gunter Seiben found himself a seat and looked out of the window beside him. The 45-minute commute to and from work was a routine similiar to Seiben, having made for the past few weeks now. By now, Seiben was used to life on the 4th planet from the sun, but the copper red landscape putside always was an impressive sight in Seiben's eyes.

Literally working 24/7, divided into 3 shifts progress on the warpdrive unit Seiben and his GE team found themselves ahead of schedule despite the recent setbacks of the attacks on the lunar station, and Andorian threats. As it stands right now, Seiben's team is 80% complete of the construction. Wiring of the components, and installation of all components have been completed, and early tests of the drive were all sucessful. By best estimates, the drive should be ready for install to the Challenger by one week (06 August), and total completion of the project in three. (20 August). Two weeks ahead of schedule.

Having sent in his Status Reports as per GE regulations to Commodore Moose and Commander Moore yesterday, he hopes they'll be happy at the news. Again, Seiben looks out of the window at the Martian landscape. Just a few more weeks, and he could go home. He will miss the sheer, rugged beauty of the planet though, and he made a fair bit of friends here as well. But.. after the riggers of this project, the beaches, and women of the French Riviera will definately be a most welcoming sight indeed.
