One shellfish too many

Dr. Pierce had a great time at the beach party...perhaps too great of a time.  As soon as she returned to the ship, she new something was wrong.  There was still a full shift before she had to be in sickbay, so she decided it woud be best to lie down.  By the time her shift had come, she was feeling worse and ran some scans.

As she had recalled, she had eaten the most shellfish.  It seemed that the fish carried a certain microrganism that in a great enough concentration would have the same effects as food poisoning.  It would leave her system eventually, and no long term damage would be expected.

Dr. Pierce called to sickbay and Dr. Telano had answered.  He had informed her that they were not busy and the ship was pretty quiet.  Dr. Pierce then took a sickday.  She hated medicine, but had learned to realize that at times it was necessary.

This independecy gave Anika the advanatage of of having a strong immune system and she rarely got sick.  Unfortunately, it was times like these that reminded her she was human and could get sick.  And right now...she needed some sleep to get through this,  especially since she was so lightheaded right now.  Thank God for sickdays.
