I think "polls" have a place, as long as they are not abused. I think there are quite a few people posting to the boards right now who seem to think it's cute to create useless/pointless/inappropriate posts. In that regard, the polls can be abused.

On a completely unrelated matter, is their a button to mark all forums read?

there are a lot of good polls out there like the best space series, best idea for a new series, and favorite starship are just a few of them, The good ones tend to spark conversation and last long and accumilate large amounts of replys like best new space series had 84 last time I checked. The ones that do not spark conversation and are nonsense trickle out and die or the great GM's remove them for various reasons. If you do make a poll that you want to live long make sure it is universal and something people truly care about :D Those are the words of Nemesis :D

Well nem, do you remember my rampage i had? If it wasn't stopped i would have made a poll that was so abusing, i would have gotten banned. That's how bad it got.

Yup, when you first go to the Boards, scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the link on the right side called "Mark All Topics As Being Old."  Good luck!
