Dacotah/StarDust

"Nirazine gas released, Commander. Colonists in shuttle bays 1, 2, and four should be sleeping like babies in approximately two minutes. Life support systems holding steady at 52%."

"Good," replied Hayden as she watched the reports coming in from Drs. Honeycutt and Pierce. "It looks like Medical has their triage line moving smoothly." She turned to say something to Moose, but noticed Ziggy out of the corner of her eye and decided now was as good as time as any to deal with Mr. StarDust.  "Captain, evacuation is complete and Mr. Garnoopy has life support stable. With your permission I am going to escort Mr. StarDust to sickbay, as I am quite certain he will not go there on his own accord."

Moose looked over at Ziggy, and no matter how straight and tall Ziggy stood, it could not mask his paleness nor the dark stain on his abdomen that was beginning to grow larger. "Go, Mr. McHale can assume Tactical for now. I'll inform Colonel Quest."

Hayden turned and looked at Ziggy. "Mr. StarDust, you're with me." She didn't even wait to see if he would follow, she knew he would. She turned around in the turbo lift just as he entered, the strain of moving swiftly and keeping fully upright etched on his face.

The doors slid shut and as soon as the turbo lift began moving, Ziggy slumped forward.  Hayden reached to help him, lifting his arm up and over her shoulder.  She watched him grimace and noted the stain grow larger. "You are in a world of hurt, Major."

Ziggy gave her a lopsided grin, "You noticed, huh?"

Hayden shook head slightly, "How could I NOT notice?   Lean on me, Major, and quit trying to hold yourself upright.   I won't break."

Ziggy finally let a little more of his weight onto Hayden's shoulders, grateful for her assistance. He had never planned to be on the bridge so long, and he was paying for it now. "Well, little lady, if its the only way I can get my arms around you...." He grinned, but pain crisscrossed his face.

"Little lady?" Hayden gave a small snort of disapproval and gently shifted his arm about her shoulders.

"You were right though, I won't go to sickbay.   Just take me to my quarters."

"Forget it, Major.   You're bleeding all over yourself, and soon me.   The last place you're going is to your quarters."

"Good point... I might try and seduce you there. Just get me to my deck."

       "MAJOR!"

"Dac," his voice pleading, "sickbay is swamped. They have all those evacuees and ..."

"And Telano is going to roast your nuts over a fire for leaving sickbay.   You don't want to go to sickbay?   Fine.   I can kill two birds with one stone."  She looked away from Ziggy.   "Computer, Deck 8"

The turbo lift changed course.   "Deck eight?   What's on .... Ohhhh.  Ziggy looked down at her and brushed her chin with his fist.   "You quarters are on deck eight.   I think I understand now."

The turbo lift doors opened and they slowly made their way to Hayden's quarters.   "I don't think you understand at all, Major.   It is senseless for me to take you to your quarters, come here for my medkit and then go all the way back to your quarters to treat you."  They entered her quarters and she helped him to a table.   "Get your shirt off."

"What no wine, no candles, no soft music?"

With a deft hand she slid a scissors up the back of his tunic, slitting it from hem to collar.   "That make it easier for you?"

"Hey!" Ziggy exclaimed, the garment only hanging about his arms.

"You were out of uniform anyway.   Now where shall we start?   That stupid stunt on Lodi or the even stupider stunt of leaving sickbay?

Ziggy shook the shirt off his arms, letting it drop to the floor and looked down at his wound.   "I think we better start with this," as he slumped down into the chair.
