USS Republic Sim log

STSF_KBear -> OK All Last week We ended with us setting the Warning Bouys. We will start where we left off.

STSF_KBear -> If everyones ready??

LtCdrJohnson -> Ready here

Ayumu Kasuga -> Yes

Joy -> Ready.

STSF_KBear -> BEGIN SIM

STSF_KBear -> BEGIN SIM

STSF_KBear -> BEGIN SIM

LtCdrJohnson -> ::In engineering, finishing up some reports on some diagnostics he and the rest of the team have run the past few days::

Capt Rian Kwai -> ::returning to the bridge after her conversation with Blu::

Jameson Bardolph -> ::still in main security, testing whether Will will throw anything bigger than amug at him::

STSF_KBear -> :: sitting at her console ::

Joy -> Bouys away, Rain. Do you require anything further at this point?

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to DeAngelo:: You know I wonder with how much we push this ship to its limit sometimes why it doesn't come flying apart...you can't imagine some of the stuff we've been through since I came aboard

Fiona Weber -> ::Bridge, loitering::

LtCdrJohnson -> DeAngelo>::to Johnson:: Do I want to?

Heather Jamieson -> :: sitting at a console adjacent to Joy ::

Capt Rian Kwai -> From your end Joy, I don't think so. Thank you.

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::on bridge, tapping console::

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::he left main security, leaving Bell in charge, just to annoy bardolph::

Joy -> Thank you, Captain. Heather and I will likely be in stellar cartography if we are required.

Capt Rian Kwai -> Kawalas, let's continue the buoy placement. As soon as it's all set, we can get ready to depart to the next area.

Joy -> :: Nods to Heather :: Shall we?

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to DeAngelo:: It's not the battles that get to me...that just means we have to keep it from being destroyed...it's these trips through wormholes and singularities and time travel that has irked me

Joy -> :: logs out of her console ::

STSF_KBear -> Yes sir Captain.

Heather Jamieson -> "Aye."

Joy -> :: Stands and starts to a TL, waiting for theather to come along ::

STSF_KBear -> Ayumu lets start moving at 1/8 impulse and lay the Bouys

Ayumu Kasuga -> Will do, sir.

Heather Jamieson -> "Oh." :: gets out of her seat and heads to the lift ::

Heather Jamieson -> :: arrives behind Joy ::

Joy -> :: waits on Heather, then asks the lift to take them to Stellar Cartography ::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::increases headlong speed to 1/8th impulse

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::

Joy -> Astrometrics, you said?

Jameson Bardolph -> ((lag test?))

Ayumu Kasuga -> Is there any set intervals that I should be plcing the buoys in?

Capt Rian Kwai -> :;bites on her lip:: <w>I'll be glad to be movign on.

Heather Jamieson -> :: smiles :: "Why yes. Thank you."

Jameson Bardolph -> ((there we go))

LtCdrJohnson -> DeAngelo>::to Johnson:: Well the power flow looks good ::hands him a padd::

Ayumu Kasuga -> Distance wise?

August Jax Robinson -> ::in the bridge, at the engineering console::

Joy -> Hmm... Not much associated with our primary mission...

LtCdrJohnson -> ::takes the padd and looks at it:: Yeah...you've done some awesome work over the last few weeks, go get some rest and something to eat

Jameson Bardolph -> ::not feeling particularly aggravated but feeling somewhat lonely::

LtCdrJohnson -> DeAngelo>::to Johnson:: Thank you sir

STSF_KBear -> Lets keep a 500 K circumference around the planet,::turns to Rian:: Is that OK Sir?

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::to Joy or Kawalas::

Joy -> :: Steps out of the lift, through a short corridor on the science deck, and into a medium small room ::

Heather Jamieson -> "Pardon?" :: stands relatively motionless ::

Heather Jamieson -> :: moves along ::

STSF_KBear -> (( Mission Briefing from Admiral BluRox Mission Breifing:: As the crew works to set up a warning bouy system around the planet and surrounding space, planetside probes and monitors are picking up large amounts of movement by the denizens of the cities >>>

Capt Rian Kwai -> Let's back them up a bit further than that. I want ships to have plenty of warning, and yet use the gravity on the atmospherre.

Joy -> :: The room has a circular holo tank in the center, a few science consoles facing it, and a small theater arrangement for others to observe ::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::launches the first probe::

Fiona Weber -> ::Kwai, while letting her hair out of the tight bun/chignon into a pony-tail for once, due to her headache:: So any ideas on what we're going to be looking for at our next stop?

Jameson Bardolph -> ::feet up on the desk, pondering getting the computer to play something with a good beat; Bell having wandered off to work on something or other::

Ayumu Kasuga -> First probe has been launched.

STSF_KBear -> Aye captain 1000K??

Heather Jamieson -> "Is there something you would like to see here Joy."

Joy -> :: Joy settles down at one of the consoles, and turns to face Heather ::

Joy -> No.... I just wanted to settle in and talk for a bit.

Ayumu Kasuga -> <Probe = buoy*>

Ayumu Kasuga -> bouy*

Capt Rian Kwai -> Preferably not liver eating natives.

Heather Jamieson -> "Oh, no problem. Though sitting here is always tempting."

Capt Rian Kwai -> I think that should work, Kania

STSF_KBear -> OK Ayumu t one 1000 k

Heather Jamieson -> "The systems here are far more sensitive than I'm used to."

Joy -> Hmm... If you have some of your work you'd care to show of, I'd be interested... the better to understand what you can and want to do.

STSF_KBear -> *next one at 1000 K

LtCdrJohnson -> ::walks into Jax's office and takes a look at the "To Repair" box::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::maneuvers the ship 1000K away:: Launching Bouy #2. ::Does so::

Capt Rian Kwai -> ::glanced at Weber:: Do you have any preference? Anything you'd like to see?

Joy -> Galaxies... are a bit gold plated in the science department. The newere ships are focused to battle.

LtCdrJohnson -> ::notices that there are only a few padds but grabs one of them and glances at it::

Fiona Weber -> Well. I agree. No liver-eating natives...

Ayumu Kasuga -> <oops>

STSF_KBear -> Lets surround the planet and then lay a few further out where we began picking up the Radio signal

Ayumu Kasuga -> Bouy #2 is away

August Jax Robinson -> ::Looks back:: Captain, I am picking up movement on the planet...

Fiona Weber -> I'd say a nice world for shore leave, but we manage to cause planetary chaos.

Joy -> I suppose it seemed necessary at the time, but I'm glad to see some Galaxies still with the fleet.

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::heading for 10-forward to mellow out so he doesnt have to throw any more coffee mugs::

Heather Jamieson -> "Sure. Currently I'm having the sensors log any itinerant pulsars and sigularites."

Fiona Weber -> Perhaps a nice, quiet asteroid with little opportunity for Republic to cause her usual carnage.

Heather Jamieson -> "Do you remember the Voyager Pathfinder project?"

Joy -> Not off hand.

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::plotting course to next destination::

August Jax Robinson -> it would seem a large group of people are moving towards the rural area

LtCdrJohnson -> ::raises an eyebrow::

Fiona Weber -> ::looks over to August+1::

STSF_KBear -> Are you sure August?

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::raises borw:: Fascinating

LtCdrJohnson -> +Robinson+ Johnson to Robinson, Will...am I correct in assuming that your training holodeck has been malfunctioning?

August Jax Robinson -> oh yes, very sure

Ayumu Kasuga -> brow*

Heather Jamieson -> "These pulsars and sigularities can be used in long range communications, but we have to know where they are. Currently there are... ah three pulsars of this type in this sector alone."

Joy -> Ah...

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::pauses:: +Dave+ I wasnt aware that it was. Whats the problem?

Capt Rian Kwai -> How large is large?

Joy -> Is this something you are working on your own, or part of a larger fleet wide project?

August Jax Robinson -> ::Perks:: no wait... it's those things moving towards the villagers

August Jax Robinson -> the liver eating things moving

Fiona Weber -> ::rolls her eyes:: The infected subspecies.

LtCdrJohnson -> +Robinson+ Someone filed a repair request saying that the emitters in two sections were on the fritz, apparently while running a tactical scenario one of your people managed to blow out one of the emmiters with a photon grenade

Heather Jamieson -> "I have been told each ship out here has someone looking at this. I also carefully go over the stellar data myself. Takes me about two to three hours a night."

LtCdrJohnson -> +Robinson+ Have you been having them run scenarios with the safety protocols off ::smirks::

LtCmdrRobinson -> +Dave+ Well that would be the first thing they actually managed to hit then, I guess its progress. Apologies for the destruction.

LtCmdrRobinson -> +Dave+ Its not training if there isnt any danger.

Heather Jamieson -> "Then if I find something of interest I have to see if I am able to allocate more sensors resources, or farm it off to another vessel."

Joy -> :: nods :: Would getting closer to these beasts or triangulating on them be of significant help?

Capt Rian Kwai -> Aye, :;frowning:: We can't interfere. Prime Directive.

STSF_KBear -> Ayumu Drop the 3 bouy here

LtCdrJohnson -> +Robinson+ I'm on my way down, can't have them blowing up the other holodecks, it might annoy you know who

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::launches the 3rd bouy::

Joy -> Or will our regular wanderings get you the required data?

August Jax Robinson -> ::Turns:: Sir, they could be moving because of our interferance

Ayumu Kasuga -> Bouy 3 is away

August Jax Robinson -> they didn't know anything else exsisted until they saw/ate one of us!

Heather Jamieson -> "These first scans are for location and type only. As we relay our findings back to Starfleet, occasionally we get a call to investigate further."

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::takes a seat and gets some coffee::

STSF_KBear -> Lets drop a 4th in this circumference and then move out and set 2 at 2000k and the thrid at 2500

Joy -> Very well. Everything proceeding well enough there? Anything you require to follow up on iet?

Joy -> *it

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::nods and engages course::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Launches Bouys 4 and 5 at 2000 and 2500K respectively::

August Jax Robinson -> ::Looks at Kwai:: we did this

Heather Jamieson -> "Nothing I reguire except my hot tea at night, decaf of course."

Capt Rian Kwai -> We don't know that. And even if we did, we can't do anything. We can't interfere.

Heather Jamieson -> "So if I may ask, what speciality do you carry?"

Joy -> :: smiles slightly ::

LtCdrJohnson -> ::grabs the proper repair kit and exits engineering::

Ayumu Kasuga -> Alright. 4 and 5 are now in place and transmitting

August Jax Robinson -> we can't fix what we broke?

August Jax Robinson -> ::Shakes head::

Fiona Weber -> ::wondering when their chief engineer became their cultural expert, raises an eyebrow:: You're making claims of gigantic proportions. ::pauses a beat:: Sir.

Jameson Bardolph -> ((afk one sec))

Joy -> Artificial intelligence. Servo systems. Some computer security. I've also a strong interest in politics and law, which hopefully doesn't come into play too often.

Joy -> But my sisters and I have been at this for a while. We've picked up quite a broad background over the years.

Heather Jamieson -> "Will your interest get you in trouble?"

Joy -> My interest can cause trouble... Sometimes for me. Sometims for those on the ship who haven't sufficient respect for law and chain of command.

Capt Rian Kwai -> You know as well as I do that the Prime Directive dictates that there can be no interference with the internal development of pre-warp civilizations.

Heather Jamieson -> :: nearly forgets Joy was an artifically created lifeform ::

Heather Jamieson -> "Are you saying the universe is black and white for you, so to speak?"

August Jax Robinson -> we already did!

Jameson Bardolph -> ((nback))

August Jax Robinson -> What if they are following our sent! we were at the village getting samples

Joy -> I have an Asimov Processor design... If the Prime Directive is being disregarded, if lives are being put at risk improperly... I am required to act.

August Jax Robinson -> *seant

Heather Jamieson -> :: stares at Joy intently not realizing it ::

Joy -> Well... My makers seem to think the Universe should operate in a certain way, and I am required to make it so.

LtCmdrRobinson -> *scent

STSF_KBear -> << LOL I have a Cussing Kitty on the phone at the moments shes not happy>>>

Jameson Bardolph -> ((oy))

Joy -> Sometimes the Universe doesn't cooperate as well as it might.

Ayumu Kasuga -> <Ooooh!>

LtCdrJohnson -> ::enters a TL::

LtCdrJohnson -> Security

Capt Rian Kwai -> The only contact we made with the species below was accidential and unintentional. We could and probably would cause greater harm than good by interfering.

Fiona Weber -> ::nods:: I agree with Kwai.

Capt Rian Kwai -> Kawalas, are we about done with the buoys?

STSF_KBear -> << Techniquely shes here but cant get in the chat. Irritated as heck>>>

Joy -> I haven't had too much problem here on the Republic. Admiral Blurox isn't one to disregard law and regulation lightly, to interfere with pre-starflight cultures, or to take lives when not appropriate.

Ayumu Kasuga -> <Suckage>

August Jax Robinson -> ::Pushes chair back:: I am not going to stay up here and watch you ignore people while they die because of us

Joy -> But there have been times when my systers have been curved pegs in square holes so to speak.

STSF_KBear -> <<Shes on the message boards page>>

STSF_KBear -> We have one more captain

Joy -> This recent mission might be a bit of an example. Remember how tightly I tried to control everything?

Capt Rian Kwai -> Thank you Kawalas. ::nods::

Fiona Weber -> ::looks over at Jax, wondering if she needs to prescribe anti-flippy meds::

STSF_KBear -> Ayumu lets put this last one 3500 out that will give plenty of warning.

LtCdrJohnson -> ::exits the TL and heads towards security::

August Jax Robinson -> ::Slaps the button calling the lift::

Capt Rian Kwai -> Then you're dismissed Jax. You may leave the bridge. ::nods, turns her attention to the work at hand::

Ayumu Kasuga -> Aye aye, sir. ::moves 3500 away and places the bouy::

LtCmdrRobinson -> <dont anger the Jax>

Jameson Bardolph -> ::blissfully unaware of the discussions going on above, sets a nice bit of early 22nd-century electronica playing and begins working through paddwork, his feet up::

Ayumu Kasuga -> <The Jax is not to be trifled with :P >

Heather Jamieson -> "Yes. I was not bothered by it, mostly I was scared as this was my first true away mission.. and frankly the first time I've been this far from home."

STSF_KBear -> ::shakes her head as Jax leaves:: She knows what happenes if we interfere.

Fiona Weber -> She's also being fairly irrational and jumping to conclusions.

August Jax Robinson -> I hope you can sleep at night Captain, murder weights heavy on the soul ::Doors close::

LtCdrJohnson -> ::enters security::

Joy -> I have observed several problematic away teams of late. I have observed a pattern. The mission assignments have been open ended and discipline loose, thus the ATs have wandered around until they have found trouble.

STSF_KBear -> ::looks back to Rian::

Fiona Weber -> ::Not that heavy. sigh...::

August Jax Robinson -> ::Crosses arms::

LtCmdrRobinson -> <murder? I'll do it!>

Jameson Bardolph -> ::looks up as the doors slide open and sees JOhnson in the doorway::

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: Hi there Jameson

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: How are you today?

Joy -> Team leaders have not been recalling quickly enough, or planning on what to do when things go wrong. The security people might be a bit quick on the trigger finger.

August Jax Robinson -> Computer, Locate Will Robinson

Ayumu Kasuga -> The Bouy i s now online

August Jax Robinson -> ::Has the need to take this out on someone else::

LtCmdrRobinson -> Ten Forward>

Jameson Bardolph -> ::slides his feet off the desk:: Computer, decrease music volume fifty percent. ::only the bass is now audible:: Doing well, thank you, sir. And yourself?

Fiona Weber -> Computer> DANGER, WILL ROBINSON.

Capt Rian Kwai -> I'm not going to argue about it. It's the number one rule in the Federation and I'm not about to break it.

LtCmdrRobinson -> <I KNEW that was coming>

Joy -> And I was required to prevent loss of life and prevent contamination of pre-starflight cultures.

LtCdrJohnson -> <<I volunteer!>>

Jameson Bardolph -> ((rofl))

LtCdrJohnson -> <<I'll be your punching bag Jax, give will a break LOL >>

Fiona Weber -> (you'd like it too much)

August Jax Robinson -> Deck 10

Heather Jamieson -> "Have you been required to act against your programming?"

Jameson Bardolph -> (9can you blame him? :P ))

STSF_KBear -> ::nods to Rian and returns her attention to the console. Captain all 5 bouys are in place.

Fiona Weber -> ::mutters:: I don't believe the prime directive should be thrown aside because of an unfounded possibility that people have been "contaminated".

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::reclines back in her seat and stretches::

Capt Rian Kwai -> Anyone else want to argue with me over this can leave the bridge too.

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Crack!::

Joy -> Thus, I tried for very specific mission statements, very specific rules of enagements, and tried to avoid conflict all together. Put the emphasis on tried.

August Jax Robinson -> ::Steps off the lift, enters the lounge:

Ayumu Kasuga -> Ow.

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::drinking coffee, unaware of the impending death::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::tapps console::

STSF_KBear -> No sir, I have made that mistake before I concur with your decission.

Jameson Bardolph -> ::getting no response to his returned greeting, gives Johnson an inquisitive look:: Can I Help you, sir?

August Jax Robinson -> ::Grabs a glass and throws it at the wall::

Heather Jamieson -> "I don't know if every mission can have such rigid outlines."

Joy -> My design is that I cannot act deliberately against my programming. I cannot deliberately act to do disturb a pre-starflight civilization, and take negative effects in shame to my emotion chip if I fail by accident.

Joy -> They can't.

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::spins around::

LtCmdrRobinson -> Oh, I did that earlier too. we ARE soulmates.

Joy -> My sisters and I have been promoted as high as Commander and XO.... Once. But we are not considered good canidates for command positions.

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: I'm doing well thank you...apparently someone blew out a few emmiters in the training holodeck

August Jax Robinson -> I am SO Freaking mad!!

Capt Rian Kwai -> ACTION: Planetside probes pick up the city creatures mass attacking the closest rural community, specifically, the one that was closest to the cities.

LtCmdrRobinson -> I noticed.

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: And I have come to repair them

LtCmdrRobinson -> Whats wrong?

Heather Jamieson -> "There are more decisions with a fuzzy factor in them at those levels of command."

August Jax Robinson -> those liver eating things are moving out of the city! they are going to the villages!!!

Joy -> So think many organic beings.

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::looks at her Tactical screen:: Long range scans seem to indicate that an attack on a rural village closest to the city centre has begun.

STSF_KBear -> An attack?

Jameson Bardolph -> Ahhh. ::remembers that incident and resists the urge to smirk:: Yes, sir. Thataway. ::points in the direction of the holodeck slightly down the corridor::

August Jax Robinson -> this is because of us! they never would have left the city if we didn't go there

Capt Rian Kwai -> ACTION: Sensors also pick up creatures leaping up and crashing through windows, doors, and attack anyone not indoors or locked away in buildings.

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: Thank you

Ayumu Kasuga -> Yes, the probe is picking up one of the ural settlements being attacked by the urban mutants

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::tries to figure out her freakout::

Joy -> The odd thing is that while we are not thought competent to be captain, we are thought competent to be diplomats. We might argue that too many captains and admirals are being too loose with chain of command and law.

Jameson Bardolph -> Not a problem, sir.

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: Care to give me a hand?

LtCmdrRobinson -> Ah, and the prime directive prevents us from interfering?

August Jax Robinson -> but we already did!!

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: If you're not otherwise occupied of course

Jameson Bardolph -> ::perks up at the chance to do something engineering-related on the ship, as he's not busy:: Absolutely, sir.

Heather Jamieson -> :: realizes she has been staring this whole time :: "I am so sorry. I have been staring at you this whole time."

Capt Rian Kwai -> ::frowning:: Again, there's nothing we can do, except monitor the situation.

STSF_KBear -> ::looks down to her console:: We can not get involved. :: maktill correct.::e sure shes s to Rian

Joy -> Our role has been to stand firm for the Federation as it once was and ought still to be. There is a time and place for rigidity.

Ayumu Kasuga -> Yes, quite.

August Jax Robinson -> But for the fact, if we had never gone down there, they wouldn't have known about other living beings and wouldn't have moved from there location

LtCdrJohnson -> ::exits the security office with Jameson and heads to the training holodeck::

Jameson Bardolph -> ::jogs out behind Johnson::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::continues to monitor the probes

Ayumu Kasuga -> feed::

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::nods::

LtCdrJohnson -> <<When did this sim turn into a philosophical ethics debate forum LOL >>

August Jax Robinson -> ::Grumbles:: Right?!

Joy -> :: Smiles slightly :: At least you are female. At priority five, I am not supposed to simulate or stimulate sexual interest or activity in public. Wll. Technically, we are private at the moment, but... Well. That's another story.

LtCmdrRobinson -> You're right. I dont think we should have went down to collect 'samples' in the first place really.

Heather Jamieson -> "Sounds like you are in conflict a good portion of the time. Do you spend much time thinking of past choices?" :: the quite hum of stellar cartography continues in the background ::

August Jax Robinson -> ::points at him:: Don't agree with me because you think that is what I want to hear!

LtCmdrRobinson -> I'm not you psycho, Im agreeing with you because I agree with you.

Heather Jamieson -> "Are you staying part of your programming is to please men?"

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::offers her a seat::

Joy -> That is part of the processor design, yes. After being unable to fulfill a Priority, we think about what we might have done.

LtCmdrRobinson -> I'll order you some chocolate. Have a seat.

LtCdrJohnson -> <<uh oh...you called her Phsyco...bad idea will>>

Joy -> And in thinking of a new problem to be solved, part of the solution is to think of similar problems that have been solved in the past.

Jameson Bardolph -> ::enters the holodeck, looking around at the black-yellow checkerboard::

Heather Jamieson -> "You must go through lots of chocolate.. wait, do you eat?"

August Jax Robinson -> ::Takes a seat::

August Jax Robinson -> and get me something to throw

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::orders some chocolate::

Capt Rian Kwai -> Have we laid the last buoy. ::remaining calm and won't argue the point with anyone::

Joy -> :: Laughs :: Chocolate, no. We drink. Pure water only. We are not designed to eat. We haven't the plumbing for it.

Joy -> We draw power from replacable power packs, rather than by food.

STSF_KBear -> Yes Sir, Still picking up readings from the surface but yes the last bouy has been laid 3500 K out.

Heather Jamieson -> :: reaches out for her hand :: "May I?"

Joy -> Yes.

Capt Rian Kwai -> Then let's pick our new destination, hmm?

LtCmdrRobinson -> I dont know what we could do to correct the situation anyways, without killing all the cannibals.

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::stops short of saying 'they have to eat too, you know'::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::perks up hearing Kwai::

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: There ::points::

Capt Rian Kwai -> ACTION: Probe sensors pick up the city creatures rampaging through the town.

STSF_KBear -> Yes Sir

August Jax Robinson -> Didn;'t the Doctor say it could be cured or something, I don't totally listen when *she* talks

Heather Jamieson -> :: takes Joy's hand in both of Janelle's :: "Remarkable. Very soft.. Ideal temperature."

Jameson Bardolph -> There, sir? ::quizzical look::

LtCmdrRobinson -> I dont know, did she?

Ayumu Kasuga -> The urban dwellers are on the rampage. it doesn't seem as if the rural dwellers stand a chance

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: Looks like four emmiters are completely blown out...we'll have to remove them...re-align the grid and install new ones

Heather Jamieson -> "If only mine were this nice. But it does feel a little 'off'."

Capt Rian Kwai -> ::glances at Fiona, who's been remarkably quiet:: I'm surprised you didn't argue with me too.

Fiona Weber -> Captain, I am fully in agreement with your decision.

Heather Jamieson -> :: lets go of Joy's hand ::

August Jax Robinson -> ::Bites into the triple chunk brownie, talks with mouth full:: Thank you

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: There should be a few dozen spars in Cargo Bay 1, but lets remove the damaged ones and repair the damage behind them first

Capt Rian Kwai -> All that 'do no harm' business of medical officers, and you argee with me?

Heather Jamieson -> "You must have people do that all of the time.. or men.. perhaps not women."

STSF_KBear -> Even if we wanted to we cant do anything.

Fiona Weber -> I think making such... assumptions... is ludicrous. And I'm hardly about to destroy the guiding principle of the Federation in favor of an engineer's interpretation of nomadic movements.

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: Lets start pulling them out...carefully though

Joy -> Yes. Their are oils that can be used to perfect the feel, but I seldom use them.

Jameson Bardolph -> Alright, sir. You should know, this isn't exactly my field -- I can do primary systems maintenance but you may have to talk me through this a bit.

Joy -> It... doesn't seem required in my present role.

Ayumu Kasuga -> Well, I'd rather not have my liver eaten by some crazed mutant zombie anyway.

Jameson Bardolph -> ::ambles over to the damaged emitters::

LtCdrJohnson -> ::walks up to one of the damaged sections::

Heather Jamieson -> "Well, is there any assignments you would like me to undertake other than the cataloging?

Fiona Weber -> ::shrugs slowly:: Who are we to judge what is happening? It isn't as if we are going to go down and explore even further to confirm our engineer's suspicions.

Ayumu Kasuga -> I've grown quite attached to it and all my other vital organs

Heather Jamieson -> "You would probably give the best back massage in the entire fleet."

Joy -> I'd like you to assist in the primary mapping mission.

August Jax Robinson -> ::Mouth still full:: I should wake Blu up

LtCmdrRobinson -> You want to wake the Admiral up?

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: Just watch how I do it ::he carefully takes a hyperspanner and starts removing one of the emmiters::

Joy -> :: 23% red facial color diodes :: Once upon a time.

LtCmdrRobinson -> that's not wise, now is it?

August Jax Robinson -> Yes it is!

Heather Jamieson -> :: smiles and turns to the console ::

August Jax Robinson -> people being killed? that isn't worth a few claws

Capt Rian Kwai -> We will not add more fuel to the fire. This isn't our fight or our fault. We don't know what caused this.

Jameson Bardolph -> ::grabs another one of the spanners and crouches into a comfortable looking position, watching Johnson's movements and then deftly imitating them::

Heather Jamieson -> :: Turns on the display :: "Here we are at one light year radius.. There we are in the center. ::

Joy -> There will likely be other away teams. There will be a good deal of trying to deduce planet's cultures and technologies from orbit.

August Jax Robinson -> I need milk

Fiona Weber -> No, we most certainly do not. ::crosses arms:: And I shall be quite pleased when we are done with this place.

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::sighs:: Well August, if you think its wrong, then you should try your best to stop it.

Heather Jamieson -> :: turns back ::

Joy -> :: turns to look ::

Capt Rian Kwai -> Do we have a course yet?

LtCmdrRobinson -> If that means waking the Admiral, then have at it.

Ayumu Kasuga -> Do we have a course for our next destination sir?

Fiona Weber -> "Away" might be a good starting point. ::helpfully::

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::woners if there's an echo in here::

LtCmdrRobinson -> Really I think we should just grab the hellspawn, snatch a shuttle and take a vacation.

Joy -> There are any number of planets capable of supporting civilization that the Dominion has left alone in this area.

Fiona Weber -> Of course... we could go for a restocking at a base, Sir.

Fiona Weber -> Perhaps shore leave there wouldn't be so... disastrous.

Joy -> The Federation... doesn't seem content to leave them alone, even if many aren't starflight capable.

Heather Jamieson -> "In this sector?"

LtCmdrRobinson -> I'm starting to feel like a third wheel around here anyway

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: Now...you see the scarring behind the emmiter...that was caused by the explosion when it blew...we need to repair that

Joy -> In the region of Gamma Quad that we are exploring.

Heather Jamieson -> :: the display backs up to encompass the entire sector, three systems light up ::

Jameson Bardolph -> ::nods, absorbing this with interest::

August Jax Robinson -> third Wheel? how?

Joy -> Can you guess where we are apt to head next?

LtCmdrRobinson -> Actually, the first wheel mistaken for the third wheel.

Capt Rian Kwai -> Are you kidding? This is Republic. Shoreleave is always a disaster.

August Jax Robinson -> ::Gulps Milk::

Heather Jamieson -> "That is this sector alone. Of the ten or so... twenty seven."

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::Sighs::

Fiona Weber -> Yes, but we can't destroy the avian ancestors of a civilization... ::smiles::

LtCmdrRobinson -> Well we get attacked down there, someone gets killed, and everyone gets all upset that I lobbed a few grenades at those liver-eaters.

Fiona Weber -> And think, we could restock and refuel...

Heather Jamieson -> "The Dominion has been very quite from what I know."

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::speak for yourself!::

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: Grab one of the type three micro-relay-inducers and very carefully go over the area until the relays are re-aligned to compensate...if we try to install a new emitter without doing that they will fuse and be useless

August Jax Robinson -> there is no place for a vacation this side of the wormhole

Heather Jamieson -> :: moves the display to show a likely heading ::

LtCmdrRobinson -> Then they avoid even telling me about the 2nd mission down there, so I dont come along and actually defend anyone from them again

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::smiles:: We could always warp into it.

August Jax Robinson -> you can file a complaint

August Jax Robinson -> ::Thwapps Will:: no funny

Heather Jamieson -> "There is a system 20.5 light years away.."

August Jax Robinson -> *not

Joy -> We have found some evidence that they have forces in reserve, and they may be mustering and rearming, but, yes, for the moment they have been giving the impression at least of not being active militarily.

Jameson Bardolph -> ::understanding dawns as this becomes a power relay problem:: Gotcha. ::grabs the inducer and leans forward, beginning to quickly realign it::

Capt Rian Kwai -> Kania, do the scans indicate a possible direction for our next destination. Or should we just close our eyes and point?

Heather Jamieson -> "No pulsars or sigularities along the path though."

Joy -> I fear we have stumbled against several Dominion facilities, and are now deliberately avoiding Dominion space lest we rile things up unnecisarily.

LtCmdrRobinson -> ::scoffs:: I'll wait till they get themselves killed down there or someplace else without my guidance, then they'll want my input again.

Joy -> Well, most such things emit enough of a signal that you can get a lot done from considerable range.

Heather Jamieson -> :: overlays Dominion activity over the sector display ::

Joy -> But if we mess up enough planetary surveys I might propose some time out for star watching.

August Jax Robinson -> I don't understand how I am the only one who see the problem we caused down there

Heather Jamieson -> "Very little activity. Staying to patrol routes, at least at this resolution."

August Jax Robinson -> ::bites Brownie::

Heather Jamieson -> "That would be great if you could."

Capt Rian Kwai -> There's distruction always in our wake.

Joy -> :: Nods :: There are regular patrols back near the wormhole, but this mission is exploratory.

LtCmdrRobinson -> I think the others see it to, but they let the rules get in the way

Fiona Weber -> ::shrugs, figuring it was the Republic away teams' lot in life::

LtCdrJohnson -> ::working on the relays trying to compensate for the damage done to them::

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: You see...we could replace the relays...but these things take a lot of punishment and we don't have many spares based on the battles we have been through since our last maintence overhaul

Heather Jamieson -> "There is a binary system consisting of a red giant and a brown dwarf along the path. I will make a note of this."

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: These ones will last enough 3200 hours before dying...provided that someone doesn't blow up the emitters...again

Joy -> I might suggest it if you find a target that isn't too far off from where we're going anyway, but as I understand the mission priorities, the planetary survey has priority over stars.

Ayumu Kasuga -> ::relaxes a bit while Command staff deliberates on their next destnation::

August Jax Robinson -> ::leans on him:: I think we should plan the next kid, I don't like surprises

Heather Jamieson -> "I'd wager the mass of the giant is ripping material from the now brown dwarf."

Joy -> That might be worth a survey.

Fiona Weber -> (Oh, you're getting cut off at two!)

Jameson Bardolph -> ::nods, not looking up from the semi-delicate process:: Makes sense, sir. Back on the freighter I grew up on, we tended to turn everything upside down and backwards to reuse it before we'd do a replace...

STSF_KBear -> ::trying to keep herself fd::rom changing her min

Jameson Bardolph -> Saves time and money in the long run.

Fiona Weber -> (Fiona isn't birthing a third Robinson child if her life depends on it)

LtCmdrRobinson -> What do you mean plan?

August Jax Robinson -> <<you can't make us!!>>

STSF_KBear -> ((5 minute warning))

Fiona Weber -> (I'm a doctor. I have my ways.)

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: Plus...we need the spares for critical systems...holodecks aren't critical

Jameson Bardolph -> ((actually she can, if she really wanted to try :P ))

Heather Jamieson -> :: magnifies the binary pair ::

Joy -> Very likely.

LtCmdrRobinson -> <there could be 5 or more in there anyway, fiona, you never know>

August Jax Robinson -> like, "how about we have one in a year" not hey guess what! I am late!

Jameson Bardolph -> ::grins:: Also makes sense.

LtCdrJohnson -> ::to Jameson:: I'm an engineer Jameson...I like things that make sense

Joy -> but no jets. No event horizons.

Fiona Weber -> (Yeah, for the good of the ship, I think we'd be having an accidental airlock malfunction in Engineering if August turned out to be the 24th century Octo-Mom)

Heather Jamieson -> "I'll have to order a timeline on this system to see what changes it has undergone."

Ayumu Kasuga -> <Will and JAx PLus 8 doesn't have the same ring to it, lol>

Jameson Bardolph -> ::laughs:: I'm a phaser jockey...I don't tend to be asked for things to wait around long enough to make sense.

Joy -> :: Nods agreeably ::

Jameson Bardolph -> But it's nice all the same.

Heather Jamieson -> "I'm hoping the jets are simply hard to detect at this distance."

LtCmdrRobinson -> Well once this one is 'out', we'll "arrange" things so it doesnt happen again...at least for awhile.

August Jax Robinson -> ::Giggles:: you make us sound responsible

Heather Jamieson -> :: looks at the display while talking :: "So do you have a priority project going?"

STSF_KBear -> PAUSE SIM
