Mia felt ... good. Her quick report was in her hand; detailing the findings that led her to realize what was going on in these klingons. She read over it again and again .. making sure she wasn't leaving anything out.

-----

To: Chief Medical Officer Desdemona Levy

The virus we believed was Ipwey had turned out to be a chemical like bacteria that was common in a certain type of fruit that the Klingon's ingested. The bacteria mutated and cleverly used the Klingon's doubly strong immune systems against them. While their immune systems fought desperated to overwhelm the bacteria; the bacteria was using the antibodies to become stronger and to spread faster. I became aware of this because of Miss Sydney Richardson's discovery of the local fauna that was used in food.

With the help of Miss Richardson, Tethra and other medical staff .. we were able to pinpoint the base properties of the bacteria and develop an antidote. After a few unsuccessful tries, we are confident that this new cure will be effective in curing the patients and getting everybody back on their feet.

To note, there are a few side effects of the antidote, including fatigue and a weakened immune system. It is highly likely that with certain medications and regimens .. they can overcome that and return to a normal existance.

Here's to a speedy recovery for these people.

End Report

-----

As she approached the Chief Medical Officer, she felt confident that their time here was coming to a close. Within a short period of time, the Klingons would be back in working order and the teams could return to the ship. Mia smiled to herself. She had missed seeing Ron in the time here. Her mind spun around the ideas for their next date; when she would cook for him. She pondered serving a certain poultry dish that her adoptive mother made all the time. Grilled chicken with a sweet sauce made of wine. She remembered it being so sweet, because of the gomuti palm sap that was used to make it. Yes, her mother always loved telling the stories behind the dishes they ate.

The dinner made her nervous, but not terrified. So far .. he had stuck around. Maybe there was more to everything than met the eye. Being positive seemed to help.

Positivity was indeed the best medicine.
