Chief Engineer's Log

After discovering the replicator, and helping myself to a large raktajino, several of the officers decided to engage in a hunt on the ice planet surface.  I suggested it would be more efficient to simply beam the creatures aboard.  This drew some angry looks from the Klingons, particularly Ramjep.  Nevertheless everyone except for Narn (on the Holodeck), Perfect and myself put on their leather hunting garments, grabbed their hunting tools, and off they went for a day of fun.

Some of the party, however, expressed a desire for ice fishing.  I explained the technique for ice fishing on Vulcan.  They were surprised to learn that Vulcan has ice caps.  Although Vulcan is a hot planet it's thin atmosphere does not allow for even heat disapation.  At any rate, the way we "fish" on Vulcan is to cut a hole in the ice, lay green peas around the hole, and wait for a polar bear.  When the bear comes to take a pea we kick him in the icehole.

Perfect and I were alone on the MeH.  She offered to make my cold metal bed soft and warm.  I must have misinterpreted her meaning because she said she quickly excused herself for a walk.  With Narn and Keedra in the holodeck, Perfect in the nursery, and the rest of the officers off the ship I have MeH command.

While monitoring the hunting / fishing party and periodically beaming up captured prey I noticed Garnoopy made a new friend on the planet.  His new friend appears to be having fun tossing Garnoopy around like a plaything.  I considered beaming the creature up but...  they just look so cute together!

With nothing else to do I ran a diagnostic on the engineering systems.  They appear to be in good order.  Apparently the aliens who captured us recently were only interested in ourselves, not our ship.  This would be consistent with our assessment that their technology was more advanced than ours.
