Dave looked over his list, wondering if this was everything.

 

Possessions for the Challenger Expedition

  • Several duty and dress uniforms
  • Civilian clothing
  • Four small framed pictures
  • High School Graduation Diploma
  • Starfleet Academy Graduation Diploma
  • 12 bound books (on paper)
  • A datablock (no more than a megaquad of data), consisting of:
    • 200 novels, movies, and music files
    • Several quads of personal data
    • Scientific texts
    • Benign computer entertainment programs (games!)
    • A dynamic puzzle program (crosswords, word searches, figuring out the meaning of life)

    [*]Hygiene Products

    [*]Sunglasses

    [*]A Rubik's Cube (classic edition)

    [*]A Rubik's Cube version 3.0 (22nd century edition)

    [*]Several small needles, several pieces of mesh, and several balls of coloured yarn for cross-stitching

    [*]A deck of cards

He just knew he was forgetting something.

 

Unfortunately, by the time he figured out what that was, Dave would most likely be several light-years away.
