"Begin recording.

 

      The away team I sent down to the planet's surface over eight hours ago is finally aboard. My desire to hear the details of what transpired down there will be delayed yet again, as Commander Ridire reported some situation involving possible biocontamination. I am almost afraid to ask for details.

 

      Repairs to Deck 3 are just now beginning. Lieutenant J.G. McLean reports preliminary inspection teams were assessing the damage. Quite a few mysteries remain about the probe. I can only hope the information science was able to retrieve will prove useful in determining if Starfleet can indeed use this planet as a new outpost. In addition, once the dust has cleared, I plan to have an investigation started as to whether or not proper procedure was followed during the analysis of the probe.
