Hi Tweety,

 

When you graduate, you will be asked to complete a form that will help our Personnel manager place you on a ship that you will enjoy serving on.

 

You will have an oppertunity to pick your first and second choices of ships, positions, etc.  You can also specify which one you want to have the most weight in determining your assignment.

 

So there is a VERY good chance you will be able to join the SIM...  it's just a matter of if they have a position open that you wish to play in.
