welcome home

He had just returned to sick bay for his final physical evaluation by the doctor

running a bit late for his appointment,he had been resting for the past few days

as per the good doctors orders...Dr.Matthews is an excellent physician and has

the foremost health of the crew in mind, irregardless of the hard case reputation

she has been known to have,I do know better..if it were not for her and the most

excellent care of her staff ...well I shudder to think of my outcome post exposure

to the high levels of intense radiation from the exploding probes.

It all went pretty well during her exam of me,she even gave me a clean bill of

health, and a sign off to return to flight status I even asked for one of her tootsie

pops she is reknowned for guarding so well, I was just about to leave when she

asked me to find my friend and fellow pilot V'Roy,apparently he was return to her

for a final checkup, and clearance for duty... well we had to wait a bit before he

returned to sick bay.

I watched intently as the good doctor almost playfully poked and prodded my

friend, even smiling as she performed her task, and grinned when V'Roy stated

I must be getting a kick out of watching him go through the routine, well little did

he know I was merely waiting for him to get cleared for duty so we could go and

find something to eat...a lot had occured during the past few days, including the

abrupt reassignment of my little one to the Reaent..a great pleasure indeed, but

it just seemed a bit strange.

When it was all over my friend and I made our way to the officers mess,I did

tell my friend welcome home even though he can arguably be a pain in the neck

at times with all his logical retoric...he is still my brother in arms, friend, and fellow

pilot..one should know pilots are a rather close knit family,we may argue, fight,

at times get gutter hugging drunk, and fight each other..but god help anyone that

would try to hurt one of us..we are a true band of brothers.

I am extremly proud of our wing commander Lt.Zafira had it not been for his

willingness to support a joint investigation from the medical, science, and our own

group we may have unable to return and be on station when the shuttles crew

was spit back out of that gate ...well so much for another days adventures.
