The Shakroi...  Part 2

Subject: The Shakroi...  Part 2

Date: Wed, Aug 27, 1997 11:11 PM

From: ErinnaM

This wasn't possible.  So many people more educated than she, representatives of the Federation Archaeological Society had studied that site from every possible angle.  And yet, it was also reminiscent of something else.  Something which she could not speak of as she had sworn never to mention it to a living sole without the release of the President of the Federation.  But she still had her personal records.

She had gone to her safe and removed the isolinear chips which carried her personal records, encrypted by a master for her so that the information on them would hopefully always remain secret.  She enterred the code which would allow her access to the information on them.  And there in all it's glory, staring back at her across the panel, was the Guardian.  When it pulsed, it pulsed brightest in 5 points.  That was the difference.  There was no sixth point.  But what if the sixth point lay buried in the

base?  What if the sixth was not seen because the sixth was covered.  That would make the sixth the controller and not the sixth but the first!  The most important of them all.

The Heel Stone was too far removed from the five trilithons.  It couldn't power the other 5 stones.  But the power had been built up and had to be dispersed.  Into space?  Could that be the meaning of the "travellers" and not the fact that they could move through time and space but that they had been displaced?

And the tale spoke of a blue world.  If you view Terra from space it is a blue world.  The travellers would have no other point of reference of what to call this world they had come to.  So they based it on a physical characteristic.

Erinna had been very excited about this find, but she could never publish it nor could she ever speak of it to anyone.  When she had been installed as Admiral of Command, she had asked the President for a private meeting.  He had assumed it to be over her position.  But she surprised him instead and told him about what she suspected.  But since she could not produce the crystals, her research could not be confirmed.  He would not release her from her oath nor would he release her from her position to

continue her research at the Guardian.  She had not believed that he would.  But she told him that she had to share the information with someone.  And that was enough for her.

Now she stands on the brink of coming face to face with not only her evidence but something which in the wrong hands could bring about a difference in the time continuum and therefore in the world which she now knew.  And as they were going after the first crystal, she could only hope that it was the Heel Stone, the stone which she believes to be in the base of the Guardian, the leader of the Shakroi and perhaps her destiny.
