True story: Ben Franklin suggested the idea of Daylight Savings Time to the first Congress as an April Fool's Day joke.

Yeah, it does suck, and whenever Daylight Savings Time begins and ends, it throws my internal clock all out of whack. ;) and heven help you if you forgot to set your clocks back or ahead. lol.. But old BEn did make it for a reason I uess (the reson escapes me at the moment, though) ;)

I forgot to set my alarm clock an hour ahead so when I took a look at my watch when my alarm went, I was going to be late for school!

As with everything in life, its all a matter of timing...

When I was twelve, there was NOTHING better than daylight savings time. I could play until a Ga-Zillion o'clock...then come in, take a bath, and hit the sack. Daylight savings signaled the end of school nearing and the beginning a long, fun-filled summers................ahhh

Now, daylight savings is a pain in the butt. It takes my body entrirely too long to adjust so I should be asleep, but I lie awake. Then morning comes (entirely too soon, by the way) and Im wore slap out......Blaaaahhhh

For the sake of Vanroy, I voted that I should wear the coconut bra, and grass skirt.

I think Daylight savings is ok. Its never been a pain or anthing for me, and it also alows me to stay out an hour later.

Now...Who else was it that voted I should steal and wear Fred's attire anyways?

No problem with it at all. Actually I prefer it to the alternative. But the Spring time change is always difficult to get used to, yeah. Amazing what we carry over from the World Wars (fuel shortage). (And yeah, Franklin suggested it as a joke, but I hadn't heard the April Fools thing before -- where'd you read that?::curious:: )

Obviously ya'll never have had to work on a commercial dairy and poultry farm before. Daylight Savings Time is very, very welcome application to the entire farming community. It allows more light to get things done in the morning, instead of continuing to stumble around in the dark like you have all winter, as well as before the heat of the day comes on as well. Trust me, driving the manure spreader is much better in the morning, than in the heat of midday.

Blu

And before someone makes a smart alec comment about spreading manure, I'll claim the crown.

::holds nose:: You can have it. Just don't wear it near me, OK?

(Ooh, I like this even better than Kroells in the bra and skirt idea. ;) )

Sounds good...I agree with that. But wouldnt it be easier to just wake up an hour later/earlier?

Well...you could be like my girlfriend from Indiana who showed up to church an hour early last year because they don't participate in the "day light savings nonsense." ;)
