Why are all the SFA sims at 9, 10, or 11?

32 posts in this topic

[move] :o Why are all of the Starfleet Academy Sims at 9, 10, or 11? I can probably never attend an entire one. Why aren't any of these earlier? Like at 7, or 8 ET?

Hi there Manitoba!

Welcome to STSF.  :o

Right now most of our sims are at those times because that is the times when most people are available to play.  That is also when our volunteer GMs can make it to do SIMs.

We're in the process of adding new SIMs to our schedule, so please keep an eye on it for additional times to be added!  We've added several in the past few months already.  :)

If you have any questions, you are more than welcome to post them back here.  Or you can e-mail me directly if you like.  My e-mail address is [email protected]

Best regards,

:)  Thank you. The only reason I asked is, I am probably never going to be able to attend one if those are the only available times. I usually leave around 9.  :o

heya guys, i was the official voice of sim time whining, being across the world and in Hong Kong, however i have come to realise that many of the GM's do in fact have real lives (NO!) and these sims are very hard to plan and all. STSF strives for high quality, and with that comes some sacrifices, but don't worry, you'll likely find a time niche that you can fit into, i did!

Hey there!

Thank you all for your feedback and suggestions on potential times.  I'll be sure to pass them along to our other GMs for when we talk about expanding our schedule of events.   It's the suggestions that we get from ya'll that help us to grow and improve to better serve ya'll.

By the way...  Brian...  do you really want me to list my schedule for ya?  I'll show ya busy if ya want.

Lets see.. 9 horses, a 6yo, working 12 hr shifts 3-4 days a week (non fire season), 24 hour shifts 3-4 months of the year...

Nah, I dont have a life outside of here...

But seriously, my problem is the early-ness of the sims. Being on the west coast, 11pm Est is about the earliest I can handle. But I know all the GMs aren't on the west coast... this is not a conspiracy!!

However, I can see where they would be late to those on the west coast, I used to be a central time zone, and it was perfect.

::gasps:: You mean donuts aren't included?! Coming from you that's almost like... simming sacrilege.  :dead:

Brian,

After remarks like this, you shouldn't ask questions like "When I show up to an Academy, why does the ship always blow up?"

:::makes a note to increase Starship production so they can blow up more training vessels:::

I don't know why it is...  but the GMs are usually in such a better mood after they blow up another group of cadets.  It's better than the stress-relieving squeeze balls.

I know *I* always feel so much better after an action statement that says: The ship was engulfed in a gigantic fireball, all hands (and the rest of their bodies) were lost.   ::):

Hey there,

What do you expect when you run around telling people "My name is James Bond."

Getting back on topic.

I think it's safe to say that STSF is an American roleplaying forum. So would we really feel compelled to cater to people in other countries?

No offense intended. Just seems like we'd be more inclined to schedule American-time-based sims.
