  1. It's reached a dollar per litre in Windsor. In my town, it's about 99 cents per litre so far, but it's probably higher at the other gas stations in my town, that was just based on one gas stattion I saw coming into town this morning.
  2. Grey squatted on the ground, fiddling with the sensor. He wondered where Vank was with that isometric refractor he had left in the shuttlepod. With a bit of impatience, he looked around for the security officer even as the sensor beeped impetuously. Matt couldn't help looking at the area, he knew he needed to assist Grey but curiousity seemed to get the better off him. He noticed Grey starting to look impatient. Matt quickly marched back to the shuttlepod. He entered the empty pod and grabbed an isometric refractor, something that he was totally unfamiliar with. A northern breeze tickled the hairs on Grey's exposed forearms. He opened a panel on the weather sensor and attempted to link it to his hand scanner again. "Grr . . . argh!" he muttered, finally succeeding with difficulty at what was supposed to be a simple task. The two devices linked, he proceeded to calibrate the sensor. Matt scurried back to Grey's location. He took one last look at the item in his hand and then handed it to Grey. "Ah-hah! Thank you, Ensign," said Grey as he took the refractor. A simple device that was essentially an advanced barometer, he wanted to attach it to the sensor to augment its readings. The refractor lit up as it docked with the sensor and two green lights started winking. "Much better . . . yes indeed." "I honestly don't think Starfleet officers would approve of this weather, sir," Matt complained. Grey continued setting up the sensor. "Eh? Why not? It's not that bad. I grew up--for at least some of my life, anyway--in weather equal to or worse than this. It's just slightly nippy, perhaps, but not too bad." He closed the panel on the sensor and set it back on its base then stood up, brushing dirt off his uniform. "Certainly better than Epsilon Indi," he added, shivering at the memory. Matt replied, " I grew up in Southern Ontario, usually hot outside unless it's Winter. Seven degrees Celcius is a bit cold in my mind. Of course this is the most northern location you chose. I imagine it would be the least populated. It doesn't matter to me, I don't plan on being assigned here. However, considering Starfleet, you never know where you'll be next." Looking at the impressive vista--a forest dotting the landscape of the escarpment to the west, the faint and distant mountains to the north, the river running to the east--Grey nodded. "Perhaps. But I think I'll be staying with Challenger for a long time." He gathered his bag and picked up his hand scanner. "I'm going to get some soil and water samples," he continued as he walked toward the edge of the river. Knowing his duty, Matt followed Grey. He maintained a 5 metre distance from him. Before Matt could continue following, he gazed around for Commander Cole. Matt halted, "Where's the commander?" Halfway to the river, Grey stopped and looked around. "I don't know, I'm sure she's somewhere around here . . . maybe she went back to the shuttlepod," he replied in a tone that indicated he wanted to continue with his work. "You can check in with her if you want, I'll be find." The ensign nodded and took off in another direction. He holstered his phase pistol with a firm grip while searching for Commander Cole. Matt thought it wouldn't be too hard to find an attractive women who shouldn't be too far from his location. Grey's boots left marks in the mud near the edge of the river. He set his bag down and scanned the soil, obtaining preliminary data. Extracting a sample container and tools from his science bag, he removed a core sample of the soil. "Excellent. Now for the water." This was easily obtained by simply dipping a container into the rushing river, its current energetic and fresh. Matt trusted Grey's scans about lifeforms in the area but did not rule out the possibility of anything happening. In his mind he knew he was being pessimistic. He knew that the Commander could've strayed off scanning something. Regardless, he had to do his duty and check on the safety of the Commander. Grey trusted Matt's sense of duty when it came to his job, but did not rule out the possibility that the security officer had evaded the science chief because of the latter's absent-minded disinterest in conversation. In his mind he knew he was being pessimistic. He knew that the Ensign could have genuinely just wanted to check on the Commander. Regardless, he had to wonder if he were really as he thought.
  3. 1500 hours USS Morningstar Lieutenant Cougar’s personal log Well, this is my first log onboard the Morningstar. It’s a small, heavily armed warship. It’s been designed for battle and for warfare. The worst part is that all officers that are not senior staff nor command staff have to sleep in crew barracks. These barracks don’t give anyone personal time or anything. There are 12 beds per barrack. There are 6 beds on the left and 6 beds on the right. I’m in Crew Barrack 7A which is located on deck seven. We’re given a small locker for personal stuff and a uniform drawer. Luckily each barrack has a small 1m x 1m table and 4 chairs to go with it. I wasn’t surprised that we only have one replicator per barrack. What pisses me off is that we aren’t allowed to bring a lot of personal stuff due to the size of our lockers. Because of this, I have moved all of my items from my quarters on Excalibur to a storage area on Camelot Station. Now about the Excalibur… I felt the frustration at the end of the ENG staff meeting with Sorehl. It appears that Excalibur may get scrapped. I offered my opinion on the situation but I don’t think it mattered too much. It was either these options: - run with 1 nacelle until a new nacelle is available - build a new nacelle - repair the current nacelle - scrap the Excalibur Running with 1 nacelle isn’t stable and definitely not fast. Other ships have done it before but not a Sovereign class starship. The Excalibur wasn’t designed for running on one warp nacelle. Building a new nacelle would take too long. Camelot station does not have enough resources. Repairing the current damaged nacelle would also take a while, again, Camelot station does not have enough resources. Scrapping the Excalibur is an extreme option. Why scrap a powerful Sovereign class starship over one bloody warp nacelle? That’s why I hope we get towed to the Alpha Quadrant or something of high magnitude. I guess this may be the end for the ship I’ve served on since I came straight out of the academy. They teach you to not get too attached to a ship but I hope I am not the only one who wants Excalibur to stay commissioned. I bet Admiral Day is feeling pretty sad or angry right now. I was actually surprised when Crispin suggested scrapping her. He’s the chief engineer! Uh, I better calm down. There’ll be other ships…like the one I am currently on, the Morningstar.
  4. Food: Maybe Pizza, not qute sure. Drink: Pop, preferably Coke. Color: Blue TV show: All Star Trek series ;) along with a couple other TV series Movie: Not sure, there are a lot to choose from. Place to live(if you could live anywhere): Hard to choose Mode of Transportation: I have a bike and I also have legs  If i had 1 wish i would wish for: Not sure. Evidently, I don't like picking favourites too much
  5. :roflmao: That guy is crazy. Good vid!
  6. But don't you think by the 24th centruy, they'd be really fast and advanced? Even in the 24th century they're not as fast as they should be.
  7. Excellent specs, I've been wondering what class the ship was and it appears you answered it
  8. From one cat to another, happy bday!
  9. Since Taalix nor Kestra seem to be answering my pms... Someone please update my character pic for my character Cougar on Excalibur, he's now a full LT. I also made a new pic for my character Matt on Challenger, I wanted to know how I could send it to you, and maybe you could try to make one that resembles or add an ENT uniform onto it.
  10. When Wesley met the airlock.
  11. I am too however just like Fred said, if they go too far they may lose viewers. The farther into the future, the more developed technology. Sure we'll see tech that looks better than VOY/DS9 era's but stuff would be a lot easier. They may always have the answer because they have superior technology.
  12. It sucks that I don't get Sci fi Fridays in Canada  I don't get the sci fi channel either. I wish Space Channel would do something similar. Heck we don't even have BSG season 2 here yet ;)
  13. How long would I wait? I'd say I'd go crazy in about around 4 years from now. How long do I think the wait will be? However long the people at Viacom and Paramount are in charge. Possibly 5-10 years. I'd like a new trek series right now, however I'd say a year's rest will suffice. Besides, we'll have ST XI in like 2 years(hopefully). I wish Enterprise would return, but it's definitely not going to happen ;)

  19. Name: Cougar Species: Human-Cougar Hybrid Age: 23 Height:5'6 Hair: Cougar fur Eyes: Brown Born: Ontario, Canada, Earth Parents: Father died at wolf 359, mother is living on Earth Current Assignment: Assistant Engineer on USS Excalibur, LT.junior grade. History: Born on Earth a few years before the battle of wolf 359 with the Borg. When he was very young he moved to USS Huron with his father. On board The Huron, his father was assigned to battle the Borg at Wolf 359. Cougar stayed aboard. The Huron was badly damaged in the battle, their captain ordered to abandon ship. Unfortunately Cougar's father died when attacking the Borg. Cougar and some other Starfleet officers used the escape pods and managed to survive the battle. Cougar will never forget how the Borg killed his father. Cougar eventually went back to Earth to stay with his widowed mother. Years passed. He dreamed about being a Starfleet officer. When he finished High school at the age of 18, he went to Starfleet academy a few months later. His desired position was to be OPS or an engineer. Cougar finished the academy at the age of 22. He has recently received a posting aboard the USS Excalibur as an assistant engineer. Recently he hs been promoted to Lt.Junior grade. Since his great adventures on Excalibur, he recently was promoted to the rank of Lt. More about him: Cougar was originally named Matt, Cougar later changed his name because of his appearance. Cougar is a Human-Cougar Hybrid. His father was an evolved form of a Cougar. His father was from an old Earth colony which had many animals including Cougars, they eventually evolved to more intelligent, more humanoid form. Cougar was born with a human body, but a Cougar head. He has the strength of a Cougar, but is still no match for a Klingon. Cougar does have some feline instincts and features. He has small retractable claws that can come out of his hands. Cougar can also purr, it was once notated by some cadets that his purring is cute. Official Starfleet Identification Picture:

  23. R.I.P Scotty. Truely a sad day ^_^
  24. So, how many of you seen War of the Worlds yet? I've seen it twice, definitely awesome! I loved it, 10/10 for me. I know many who loved it and some who hated it. What do you think of the movie? I personally think the ending wasn't as great, but after the second time seeing it, I understood it more and liked it a bit better. Now Tom Cruise isn't one of my favourite actors but he played his character well. Thoughts?
  25. The above 3 posts are jokingly theorizing how some of the tripods were destroyed in Osaka. I never meant that to be a joke though :P
