  1. My mothers sonogram shows me giving the doc the Vulcan hand gesture.
  2. I really think online gaming is the future...not necessarily in MMPORG (maybe because Ive never played one) but definately in internet-group play. Well...until programmers come up with a human-like AI <_<
  3. I personally preferred the direction Interplay was going with its Trek games. Activision is just all about fast paced arcade...why cant anyone come up with a game where the primary goal isnt always just to destroy everything in your path? Even Elite Force was just Doom III with Star Trek graphics, and a bunch of cut scenes to resemble a plot. Ive never played BotF but then again I dont like turn-based games. It would be nice to see an Armada type game where you actually have to build alliances and make peaceful treaties to build an empire, not just build quickly enough to kill the enemy on the other side of the map.
  4. Hmm...I wonder what it would smell like after a few months though with hundreds of scented bowling balls rolling down the lanes...the smells mixing together onto your ball.
  5. I think Activision needs to stop the blame game (no pun intended) and look at their own developments. They come out with games like Starfleet Command that are so complex it takes a week to learn how to play it, with horribly slow gameplay...everything is about shooting and blowing up stuff. Its not that Paramount ruined the franchise, Activision hasnt developed games that appeal to Star Trek fans. Armada was a good game but again the only plot was to blow up the enemy.
  6. Here's a simple formula to tell how long it will take you to graduate. skill - (# of times asked)*2 / (# different hosts*total sims) + (# days between sims * attendence * lateness) / consistency + 3 ^ (begging * complaining)
  7. Works for me..probably just a hiccup. STSF.net will go down from time to time, if only for a few minutes, just like every other website on the Internet. Too much spam going to the GM's mailboxes :(
  8. Acting career not working out for him, eh? hehehe
  9. There are other countries? :(
  10. I wonder what Balock meant when said the final episode is appauling? (referring to an article posted in another thread)
  11. Yes I dont think the number question is answerable. Maybe thats the point? The distance would also be longer :(
  12. Enterprise isnt on Friday nights anymore? I thought they were going to finish out the season. :(
  13. I dont think thats correct...the weight of the anchor was distributed across the size of the boat, so its displacing less water than it would if it were to be in the water directly.
  14. #3 Question would be...hmm...been thinking about it and cant come up with an answer...whats the solution? Anything I come up with needs 2 questions. Since you have only 1 question with 2 possible outcomes, and 3 possible answers, I dont see that the problem is answerable.
  15. 3 million divided by the number of homeless people is equal to what? 3 mil wouldn't do anything except feed people in 1 metropolitan city for a couple of days. Throwing money at homeless people isnt the answer to poverty. Anyway, back on track, I think this is a wonderful thing (if it turns out to be true)...just goes to show that the Trek fan base really is dedicated to the show. Of course, I havent been a fan of Enterprise lately since they lost my interest during the whole temporal war/expanse thing...but this truly impresses me.
  16. Light both ends of rope #1. When #1 is done, fold rope #2 in half and burn both ends. Burning #1 on both ends it will extinguish in 1/2 hour. Folded in half, #2 will burn twice as fast...so burning both ends will extinguish in 15 minutes.
  17. I would love it if the US would finally switch to the metric system. Its so orderly, and makes sense...our system is just completely arbitrary. It's silly we're still teaching it and using it. In the metric system water freezes at 0 and boils at 100. It's 30-somethingF and 212F, just no logic to it. The rest of the world uses metric and we're too stubborn to follow up. Besides I'd prefer not to have to buy 2 sets of tools to work on my car, thank you very much.
  18.  Uh....huh? <_<
  19. Well...thats true. They are taking away your right to smoke, but its because you are taking away their right to breathe healthy air. If someone stuck a hose in their tailpipe and brought it into a restaurant because they like sucking on car fumes, I'm sure you'd have a problem with that. And the drinking argument just doesnt hold up...they aren't spraying the liquor on you or making you drink it. By smoking around others, you are forcing them to smoke. The reason you're being 'ostracized' isn't because they're trying to make life hard on you for your choices, or because they want to 'stamp you out'...its just because you are infringing on the rights of others. You cant help that your smoke fills an entire room, but the managers of the store you are in can help it by forcing you to smoke away from their guests.
  20. Ooo...its like a soap opera.
  21. Hmm... :P we weren't discussing your image Gromvik...or WERE we? :o
  22. TNG was against smoking...a few episodes mentioned it and how barbaric and ridiculous it is. Gene was definately against smoking. But Gene didnt run DS9 so his 'vision' was probably distorted in that DS9 episode. In any case I would have to agree that smoking would be erradicated in the 24th century...we're already seeing smoking being stamped out in modern society. Once the 'coolness' of smoking is gone and the current smokers die off, it'll be a dead industry.
  23. Ah, that old image again. You GMs need new material. Show us A9 in a speedo on muscle beach and we'll talk :P
  24. Ah Harper takes credit and here's Davies sneaking in for a piece of the pie :P Hehehe...regardless its nice. Is there a bigger version?
  25. Im waiting for them to open one in my driveway.
