  1. I hate soaps. A month goes by and they're still whining about the same garbage over and over. It's so overly-dramatic you can't keep a straight face watching it. Plus, its pretty much completely predictable. The music tells you exactly whats going to happen, who is good and who is bad, and you're always safe in the knowledge that if the show gets into a slow-spot (meaning 2 days goes by and nothing earth-shatteringly-dramatic happens) someone will get shot or have an affair. :)
  2. Good grief Dumbass...you get the award for the biggest signature.
  3. Congrats!
  4. Why not go to the schedule, e-mail one of the GMs, and get them excited about the idea? Have them e-mail you when they plan to do the starbase sim, if they like it, and then you can schedule yourself to attend that sim.
  5. ID

Canadian licenses are horrible! How can anyone tell who it belongs to with that big gray block over the face? :P Silly Canadians :D
  6. ID

What kind of car do you drive? I want to be sure to avoid you! :P Americans really are distracted drivers. We speed around with a cellphone pinched between our head and shoulder, a Starbucks Latte in one hand and an electric razor in the other, blasting the radio and driving with one knee firmingly planted against the steering wheel. And then we want an autobahn...it's suicide... :D
  7. ID

Yes, the vertical licenses are fairly new. Heck, 15 years ago they were just laminated printed pieces of paper. Compare a license now to 20 yrs ago, you'll be amazed at the difference. I like them...it helps venders immediately and readily tell whether you are under 21 or not..because if they sell you booze by accident (either by a lazy employee or just a mistake) THEY are the ones who pay huge fines...not the brat kid who wanted to get silly on the moonshine. Anything that helps business-owners comply with the law is 100% OK in my opinion. Really, you have to slap the guy on the back for this idea...its so simple and so effective.
  8. Ah, that's true. Unless maybe that was just a moon around Remus? Or Remus has another side that's nice and normal? I think I remember it being mentioned in a Trek show that Romulus and Remus were "twin worlds"...meaning nearly identical...dunno.
  9. Lots of aliens have pointy ears...it doesnt mean anything. Nowhere in the movie did it say Remans were related to the Romulans...so I just dont get why everyone jumps to that conclusion. We need a new TV series exclusively Romulan :D
  10. ID

Why is it bad if your ID is vertical? What difference does it make?
  11. I agree...if you've been simming a long time Romulan and suddenly you've got a canon slave race, it would be tough to adapt. Although...why not just make the Remans a "secret" slave race that no one in the empire really talks about, a taboo, that never came to light until they built the Schimitar. And there's no mention of Remans being related to Romulans, so I don't understand the upset about genetic mutations or whatnot. There's always ways to explain things in your sim with a little creativity :D
  12. Romulan Ale isn't beer...despite it being called 'ale', all of the RA drinks on the show have been solid without any head. There may be different types of Romulan Ale that affect its flavor...heck, there may even be a whole line of flavored Romulan Ale ala Absolute. Unless its just brewed differently...maybe it's just flat ale! Hmm...well if you disregard Nemesis, you're disregarding canon...so your sim simply isn't following canon. Nothing wrong with that, but you can't ignore canon if you want to stick to Trek. We know next to nothing about the Romulan culture...when it really comes down to it, Nemesis just walked over the non-canon Trek stuff...not canon. Books IMO are only decent for simming if previous information hasn't already been covered by Trek. Now it has, so any information from those books that conflicts with Nemesis should be ignored. If, that is, you want to stick to canon. If not, the sky is the limit and you can pick and choose from what ideas/facts you want to use...nothing wrong with that either. We never did have any explanation for the Remans explained in the movies (no book explanations please!). My best guess at this point would be that the Romulans came to a planet already inhabited by an alien race...either by simple conquest or perhaps by interbreeding to create a hybrid subrace that was put into enslavement. The Remans could have no relation to the Romulans at all. The fact that the Remans now live on Remus could simply be that the Romulans displaced them there, and their original home was Romulus. Just a thought...until a Trek movie or episode explains Remans, its all up in the air...and all theories hold water equally.
  13. I'm getting deja vu...hasn't this post/poll been done like 2 times already?
  14. Having an option to shut off PMs would be a good idea. I agree PMs can be annoying, especially when you're really into a sim...or you're in the middle of typing something and a big window pops up on your screen without warning.

  17. ^ STSF's only Hong Kong player...
  18. It would have gotten a birthday notice if it had been listed on the calender Fred! Maybe you should make a board name "STSF" and mark its birthday for all to see
  19. Female dogs.
  20. The A-Team van
  21. That was hilarious
  22. Electric Chair.
  23. You haven't seen Bill Gates mowing his lawn without his shirt I take it! Meeeoooww...
  24. I'll look around...the evidence seems pretty suspicious...unexplained bruises, cuts, etc. But when you think of how many victims of domestic violence deny that any abuse is taking place (just like Hawking did) and factor in that there are no centers or support systems for men who are victims of DV, and the fact that our society virtually pretends DV doesn't happen against men...I have to wonder.
  25. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml.../25/nhawk25.xml Interestingly in that article...when the inventor created Hawking's voice box...Hawking not only took the voice box but took his wife, too! I hope the allegations are not true...if so that woman should be burned at the stake :-D
