Wow. good stuff. where did Voyager go wrong?? Hmmmm.... Ill start with my series preferences and go from there: 1.) Original Series: Wasn't around for the original airing. I was introduced to it throughout the 70's (re runs) and 80's (movies) and got hooked. It ROCKS! 2.) ENT: the closest I'll ever get to watching the original in prime time, in my opinion. I like the show. A lot. 3.) TNG: hands down, the BEST of the TV series. 'Nuff said. 4.) DS9 and VOY: Somewhere around the running of both these series, my Trekking sorta lagged, but I did catch these series of and on. Didn't really have a problem with either. Now I can't speak for the Voyager books (dont read), but as for the series? I do think the ending episode was a bit...rushed?....wrapped up way to quickly? but other then that a solid series with a few quirks like all of them. I did find a few of the characters annoying, more so then other series, and I think near the end of the show it was "ready" to be done. All in all, my vote for VOY is a solid show. Not great, solid.

For Christimas, rec'd Season 2 and Season 3 DVD sets of the Original Trek Series. Already have Season 1, so Im basically in Geek Nirvana now. The quality is really great. Y'all know those insanely :P bright tunics they wore? Well, u can actually see the sparkles of the gold braid on the arms. In the first season u can see the sparkle material in the uniform pants. Parts of the episodes that are always cut out during TV airing are left in and its really great. And all the blips, bleeps and bloops on the bridge can actually be heard in the background noise. Even the "cheesy" planet sets (sparkling rocks, etc....the TOS was sorta big on stuff that sparkled weren't they?) are given new life with the DVD quality. Watching the episodes and feel as if Ive rediscovered TOS :D Always the first, always the best.

I'll prolly pass on the Stargate Marathon, but I've been wanting to check out the new Battlestar Galactica mini-series, and the new series.

I would like to ask some of the WoW players out there: I broke into on line gaming with Elite Force, and I really enjoy First Person Shooters. Is WoW a good game for a "newb" to MMORPG to try> do y'all recommend it for a beginner looking to break into a multiplayer RPG?

I said "I wonder what this is" and clicked on the STSF link on the Startrek.com message boards. Registerd here back in July, started thinking seriously about giving it a try, and finally started simming two weeks ago. I did pen and paper RPG (non Trek) for about 3-4 years, off and on, in the mid 90's. STSF is my first Trek RPG, as well as my first on-line RPG. Trek rules. ;)

Ive been looking into getting a MMORPG game. Never tried one before, thinking of it. Galaxies has been mentioned, or City of Heroes, but been told, hands down, WoW is THE way to go. Read a few game articles on it, looks good. Happy Hording y'all ;)

my 6 academy sims: dealing with Klingons, Romulans, unknown fevers, mud traps, attacking bats, falling in rivers, unknown spatial phenomenon, the entire ship x ploding, scan , scan and more scanning, and a restuarant ship in violation of all the health regulations...... y'all keep the cadets busy around here :lol:

LOL. Yuz got it Saek tr'Vosh. A new grad DOESN'T Contact anyone on the GM staff about being assigned right? I gave my email into one of the GM's (LoAmi) and Ill get a e mail from the GM staff to fill out on which ship Id like to possibly join? And for now, only permitted to join 1 ship?

Spaceballs is a classic flick. gotta love it :D and yep I found out that there are many ways to torture cadets. But happy to say I was promoted to Ensign at the Monday 10 PM Academy. ;) Hafta admit though...I wasnt sucked out an airlock.........

thought it was a well done trilogy. loved the end when the former Vulcan council leader was addressing that mysterious shadowed villian.......who's uniform looked postively...Romulan :lol: Bring on the Rommies I say. gotta get that Romulan \ Earth War thing going :P

TBS aired "Galaxy Quest" a lot this past weekend. Anyone seen this flick? Its about actors on a cancelled Sci Fi show that get a chance to do it "for real". Ive always thought of it as a fun, well done Sci Fi movie that spoofs Trek in a nice way. :lol:

I always thought the 3D chess set looked cool too, but never managed to purchase it. Plus the fact....I want to learn how to play "REAL" chess first. LOL

I saw it in the theater, got it on tape, and and now have it on DVD. I even replaced the DVD after it got screwy, so.....I geuss I must REALLY like it LOL! (Thermian language? I gotta check that out Atragon 9. Havent tried it yet) I pretty much love everthing about the flick, even the extreme cheese factor, and many parts crack me up. Just a couple: Very beginning of the flick at the first shot of the convention, when the actors are doing autographs. A bunch of fans come up to Alan Ruck (Dr. Lazarus) dressed as his character, and go into the "By Grapthars Hammer, By the Sons of Warban" shtick.....Ive been to a few cons and seen fans really "get into it" like this. The movie has it down cold. Later in the film, it shows this one kid in his bedroom, with all kinds of Galaxy Quest memorabilia, and Tim Allen contacts him for help? Yep, thats how my bedroom once looked, decorated in post modern retro Trek :lol: Someone mentioned its a better tribute to Trek then "Trekkies" has been? Ya, I agree.

The Academy scheduled for Monday (Nov. 29) is 10 pm ET, that would be Eastern Time rite? And I can access the chatrooms thru the icon toward the upper rite of my screen that says...Chat Rooms? And I want the "Holodeck" room? Just so I dont end up somwhere else at wrong time :o

Wow. So the winning streak finally ended for Ken Jennings. He was on Jeopardy for a while. Well, hope he enjoys his winnings, he earned it. My thing though is this: did he really miss that question...or did the producer peeps behind Jeopardy finally say "step down/u need to step down, and you'll get a bonus, etc." ???? I mean, For someone that "trivia minded", and he misses on a H & R block question??? and not somthing like "what was the name of Winston Churchills half sisters daughters second husband." :lol: Know what I mean?

Had first sim monday nite on the RES Firehawk, played the CMO. At first, im thinking Oh boy...first sim...and its Romulan, not the "normal" Starfleet I was hoping for. LOL It was fun, just like reading a novel, only better cause u are part of the action. :lol: Yep, BluRox has already posted some great info in another topic of mine, but Im sure when I start getting character info together more info will come up.

The Pic is from a game called "Bloody Roar 3" Im working on a Caitian character that resembles a leopard/ocelot/ snow leopard..type of cat. The pic is sorta close to what I have in mind. Plus the fact I just like the pic! :o

Yep, planning on the 10 academy tonite. I can do the quiet thing, not a problem. Observing advc sims would be great to see how it all works. Thnks everyonel for the info and answers.
