  1. 10.16.08 USS Agincourt NCC-81762 “Taboo” Midshipman Joseph Chase. Midshipman Joseph Chase. Brought him on board. Worked with him on the Earth clean up detail assignment. Betrayal. Deceit. Loss of life. An eye for an eye. The predator was out and hunting. The predator that was always just below the surface and usually successfully contained within polite society and upbringing. Today, the predator was let loose with an undercurrent of darkness. Commander JoNs padded into the Main Armory, very low to the ground on all four paws in a classic hunting posture. Her ears were flat, her tail and neck ruff flared with anger that generated off her in almost static electricity. The tail was lashing, and her pupils completely dilated. Her feline features were set in a silent snarl, the skin and fur drawn so tight across her face in anger that you could make out the outline of her skull. She sniffed the air and visually scanned the area, looking for her target. Several greetings that a few of the armory officers on duty called out to her completely died on the air as they got a look at the Executive Officer and promptly backed away. One or two brave souls asked “Sir, can we help you?” To which the reverberated reply to the gathering of officers and enlisted workers of the armory section as a whole was, “CHASE! You were trusted here on this ship! You betrayed that!” It all happened so fast. No one really knew what happened next. Midshipman Joseph Chase started running. He had been standing at the other end of the area, working on one of the heavy equipment ordnance loaders. He had been tracked. They knew about the explosive. He bolted away from the danger. A snarled roar deafened any other sound or exclamation of surprise as all the armory crewmen tried to make sense of the chaos of the next few seconds. JoNs bolted after him, giving him no quarter and running him down quickly on all four paws. If the situation were not so dire, the felinoid command officer could be considered pretty as she streaked across the armory; her muscles rippled and pumped with the adrenaline coursing through her body. The perfect killing machine if she ever chose to be. The one hundred and thirty pound leonine Caitian caught him just as he was going to clear the armory and escape into the auxiliary access corridor. She tackled the larger male and they rolled rogether across the hard deckplating in a blur of golden fur, white skin, human and feline, command red, and support services gold. Midshipman Joseph Chase screamed in terror.
  2. I haz jumping skillz though. :-P
  3. == Mission Brief 10.19.08 == TBS has been Three Days. We are on approach to the Satarimi Homeworld. 081019_Excal_Chat_Log.txt
  4. Found it! Starfleet Technical Manual by Franz Joseph. This version includes uniforms, ship names, schematics, the works.
  5. Pardon me as I klep your post Commander Rock! The one cast member I assume is playing Chekov to the front left? That is my mental block cast member and I have to adjust my Chekov perceptions. The curly hair? Eh. I'm cool with the others. Urban. Hot. But again, this is a 2009 film, and our modern times translate over to the actors (and bridge) just like in all the past Treks: The New Cast: Are just as pretty/buff/modern actor/cool looking as the original 60's cast. It all depends on the decade. - Shatners Mid West American Boy Kirk (sorry for the non PC wording) look was the ideal leading man at the time. - Nichelle Nichols was considered a good looking modern woman of color (again, pardon me for the wording there, and not to give any politically correct types a heartattack) to be cast as Uhuru. - Leonard Nimoy had pointed ears but he could be considered attractive with his clean cut angular features. And they painted him with green tinged makeup. But that's beside the point. :-P - DeForest Kelley and James Doohan were older (Scottish and Southerner) men, in their forties. Both had rugged to craggy features, and could be considered handsome rather then cute. So, when you compare the new cast to the old '60's cast ... you just can't. Each movie and Trek TV show goes for the cast that looks good for the current times. The New Bridge: - Is New. Each and every Trek bridge was new at the time, and all of them did not look alike, right? And I'm with NDak, I really like the new bridge. - The Original 60's bridge had a modern 60's look going on. Flat yet bold colors, from the black of Kirks chair cushion to the red of the helm and nav console on the side boards. The chairs were very plastic looking. - The TNG bridge when the show premiered in the late 80's. Oh. My. God. Gag me with a spoon. All they needed was someone walking aound in parachute pants. Total 1980's. That biege/tan carpet and bridge design? Yep. 80's Luxury. We had a recliner chair that color, and the material matched the TNG bridge! I can't go wtf or anything over the 2009 film bridge because it looks ..... modern. ::shrugs:: I dunno, I just wasn't full on expecting the original original look. I like the hybrid ENT/Movie TNG and TOS (silver white) console look of it. Nice compromise. And I like the cast = they look sharp man.
  6. To me at first glance, the design of the Kelvin has roots back in the black and white Starfleet: Technical Manual (can't recall the author) book/schematic manual that was out in the mid to late 1980's, containing information and schematics and diagrams and uniforms based on the Original Trek (and yeah, pre-Internet resource material can still rock out :-P) I *think* a couple of starship designs within the manual were along the same concept idea as the Kelvin. That's pretty cool, keeping the boxy yet streamlined TOS remake designs (at least the Kelvin) somewhat original "canon". Check out the saucer and the bridge sectional; totally reminds you of the lines on the original Enterprise ship, with the hull plating going toward the look of the TV Show Enterprise hull. BTW, that pic of the pod and Kirk? Yeah, it figures he'd be in the middle of a snow bank or something with a downed pod or something. :-D
  7. MISSION BRIEFING> Repairs are underway, sensors are kinda-sorta back via some creative rerouting, and damage teams are picking up the pieces in the labs. We're trying to figure out what -- and possibly who -- caused the explosion. 081015_Agincourt_Chat.txt
  8. ... I would so fall off that bed.
  9. 10.15.08 Agincourt Mission Update: TBS: None Given - The cleanup/investigation continues within the blown out secondary labs on Deck 2. Sensors and other affected systems are nominally returning to normal. - Senior Lieutenant Murray and Lieutenant Junior Grade TLak were checking out damaged crew quarters on the deck; Ensign Karrigan held down the fort in Main Engineering. JoNs, Condacin, Tay, and Kassem were on hand in the lab area. Shadow was able to pull himself together and inhabited the ether again in a semi whole state. Colonel Harper stoically manned the bridge while new CMO Kara reported to the Head Marine Commanding Shark. - Several intact shards of metal were discovered within the lab area; Forensic Teams from Security led by Team Lead Warrick, along with scanning help from Resident Science Bat Tay and general investigative help from Resident Energy Being Shadow discovered that 1.) The metal fragments were traceable to Korlath Salvage, a Klingon company and 2.) Traces were left on the fragments, and a “mental energy signature” gathered by Shadow that pointed to one of the Agincourt’s own Armory Officers. - An inside sabotage job? It would appear so. JoNs reported the findings to the Colonel and then abruptly and rudely exited the auxiliary lab area without letting anyone know her intentions … perhaps to pay a visit to the officer in question? Boo Yah.
  10. I *really* don't think the whole consistency thing is a concern with this new Trek film.
  11. Thanks for the post Fred. - Okay, the still shot of the crew on the bridge? The actor playing Kirk (blanking on the name) has that Kirk sitting in the command chair and chewing over a problem pose down cold. - And, I'll go on record and say that the new bridge rocks out, and the design looks clean and mean; I like the compromise between the "Blue color" streamline console in the background and the white/silver Old School that I can spot on the console stand that Uhuru is at. And, I think it is a good point that the new Enterprise bridge look isn't the "cold and dirty" camera and set look of the new Battlestar Galactica? - I like the crew, they look good together. - Doctor McCoy's Karl Urban is a hottie. - The Blue, Red, and Yellow Old School uniforms look spectacular! Yeah baby! - Did I mention Urban is a hottie?
  12. Mission Brief: So, a week has passed, and we're about three days away from Satarimi space. Corizon is still deciding what to do with the Packled, and has spent the better part of the last week in seclusion. 081012_Excal_Chat_Log.txt
  13. 10.12.08 Excalibur Mission Update: TBS: Three Days - The Bridge crew discussed doing some co-ordinating flight exercises between the ship and fighter crews. - Asyle was questioned by the command team and allowed to remain on board the ship in a provisional engineering capacity. - Chief Medical Officer Wydown and Maria Zier discussed medical concerns and general medical. - There will be no Snu Snu shenanigans. - Per Captain Corizon the TBS is three days; the Excalibur will be on approach to the Satarimi homeworld. Note: the full launch of Excalibur: Lower Decks is upcoming. Information was discussed at the end of the chat (included in chat log), and the Captain asked that any Excal Player interested in RPing as an Enlisted Grunt send the command team an email so we know of your initial interest and we can start the pre-launch process moving forward with regard to STSF Personnel.
  14. That would be *our* Sumo, and yes, Sumo is one of our GM's. Welcome to the STSF site TCapt. And yes, this is a wicked cool old school site to RPG sim.
  15. Boo Yah. Put Left Ear down for seven and a half weeks. Makes Note: maybe we should get her one of those kid leashes? Cool! Then once you nab some of the better alcohol brands we can sell it on the black market. Oh wait ... this is Regular 'Verse. My bad.
  16. Giant. Mace. Can. Or something. Nice one guys.
  17. Mission Brief: When last we saw our intrepid heroes, damage control teams were evacuating deck 2. Speculation over why there had been an explosion in a relatively non-critical area of the ship had begun. 081008_Agincourt_Chat.txt
  18. 10.08.08 Agincourt Mission Update: TBS: None Given - Cleanup continues as the crew takes stock of the aftermath of the Deck 2/Secondary Science Lab blowout. The Engineering teams work to restore some sort of working order. - Lieutenant Commander Condacin enters the compromised lab area and takes in the damage with her Chief Science Bat Tay in tow. - We find that Shadow was basically scattered by the force of the explosion; Lieutenant Commander Kairi brought in a generator/amp booster to fling some energy out to possibly help the energy being to re-coalesce. - Lieutenant Nimetti managed to get a faint blip on the targeting scanners (one of the damaged systems). Service Stripes Awarded: JoNs, Shadow, TLak Promotion: TLak from Ensign to Lieutenant junior grade
  19. I remembered to put it in the last Mission Update, does that count? Congratulations to you both!
  20. “Sister Mary Ruth: Counselor” Doctor (Lt. Cmdr.) Rue Wydown and Cmdr. L.E. JoNs Left Ear JoNs stayed where she was near the doorway, not answering Doctor Ruth Wydown's inquiry about her current sleep patterns for the first few seconds. Left Ear considered her own stern command looks to be pretty well developed over the years, with the added bonus of the feline bad azz type of vibes, but the "look" that the medical doctor was currently leveling at the Exec was pretty darn convincing. The panther cat considered her options and then finally decided to be honest. "I am sleeping for say a good solid four or five hours. Then, I have a nightmare about the shooting. After that, forget about going back to sleep, so I'm up, working out, grabbing something to eat, and then handling some reports before finally reporting on first shift. Eventually, I get so worn out and I do sleep through the night, but then the cycle starts all over again." The five foot five inch athletic Caitian ran a big brown paw through her high and tight mane, deciding to go for a quick retreat and fall back into the command officer mode that came to her so easily ... and right now was a convenient excuse for not meeting a personal problem head on. "Look Doctor, I really need to go investigate a new personnel issue we have going on at the security offices ... I can come back and ..." Crossing over the office replicator, Wydown kept her eyes on the First Officer as she spoke, recognizing the 'blow off' language. It was only as she turned her back to face the replicator that she broke her gaze. “Your little 'personnel issue', if that’s what you want to call her, can sit in the brig for twenty more minutes. She’s not going anywhere any time soon. You’ve got time to talk. Rue tapped commands into the replicator, watching the Caitian’s reaction in the glass reflection. She wasn’t sure if she was reading the younger woman correctly - whether the woman was annoyed, surprised, mad or amused. But Rue knew she had her attention for the moment. She smirked for a moment at JoNs facial expression, then confidently wiped it off her face as she looked over her shoulder. ”Don’t look so shocked; when you’ve been in the service as long as I have, you come to appreciate just how fast news spreads in a community this size. The ship grapevine, with all its idiosyncrasies, is a never ending web of intrigue that provides endless entertainment for busy bodies and poop stirrers,” She picked up the tray of beverages and turned back to her desk. “I used to hear a helluva lot more chin-wagging until I moved into these digs. But I still have my sources.” She smiled warmly as she arranged a selection of beverages on her desk: coffee, tea, water and the infamous banana smoothie. “I didn’t know what you’d prefer. So take your pick.” She settled herself back into her desk chair and motioned to the chair across from her. “You said you’d had two incidents, perhaps reactions, is it? Tell me what triggered them?” Left Ear’s muzzle had jutted up to an angle of defiance, her green eyes flashed with anger, and the tail had taken to thumping ominously. The feline XO could go full on military martinet and pull rank on Wydown, citing the need to know information that the medical officer shouldn’t have had any sort of access to, or just a bad ship board gossip attitude in general, or any other of a half dozen trumped up accusations. Instead, the younger officer moved away from the doorway and started walking towards the desk, keeping her eyes on Rue. “Normally Doctor, for such a bold statement like that and a complete disregard for rank respect, I’d give someone hell. But, as a general rule, I also try not to tick off the one woman with medical command access to the hypo enema cabinet,” a paw gently grabbed at the yellow-ish beverage, “and I’ll try this one, thank you. It smells pretty good.” Left Ear placed her own personal Padd down on the flat surface of the desk and then sat down heavily in the offered chair, Banana Smoothie firmly held in one paw. “The first reaction happened in the shuttle bay during the exchange. The kid who shot me showed up as one of the guard contingent. And I wanted to hurt him. I’m not talking about a disciplinary cuff across the ear either. I wanted to really hurt him Doctor. The second incident was just a little bit ago, out in the corridor. A piece of engineering equipment discharged, and I reacted, or winked out or whatever.” I’ve been around the block a time or two.” Rue grinned. “I really don't know the answer to ‘why now’. Could be any number of factors. Maybe you've just now figured out you're not as infallible as you think you are. Maturity will do that to you. Maybe it’s the idea that it was a kid who attacked. There had to be an element of shock there. Or, maybe the stars just aligned and boom, Bob's your uncle, there you go. You're the only one who can answer that question. But that’s going to take some time. And don't expect that the answers are going to come right away. Which will probably frustrate the hell out of you too.” Out of an obsessive compulsive need to keep her hands busy, the Doctor picked up a stylus off her desk and started to twirl it in her hands absentmindedly. She smiled, continued to talk. “I'm going to tell you this, not because I’m trying to patronize you. Or try to illicit some sort of sympathetic response between the two of us. I just want you to know that there have been others who've set sail in the same boat you're in now, and you’ll find solid ground again. In time.” “Years ago, I lost a colleague in an attack on what should have been a routine away mission. Let’s just call it as being in the wrong neighborhood at the wrong moment. It wasn’t my fault. I didn’t do anything to cause it. But there was always …” she swallowed, “ … doubt in my mind that there should have been something I could have done to stop it. If I should have reacted faster, made better choices, said something different, zigged right when I should have zagged left.” She shrugged. “You name the question and I can tell you, it ran through my head. And then some.” JoNs idly picked at the dregs of her smoothie with the straw, staying quiet for some moments and digesting everything Rue had just passed along to her. The feline then placed the empty container back on the desktop and then stretched her weakened right shoulder with a purred grunt before finally speaking into the silence. “That sounds pretty close to what I am feeling now, and I agree with the wake up call that I’m not invincible. And I’m sorry about your colleague, but in this business we never really know when that magic bullet is going to hit … Zigged. Zagged. Should have had a faster reaction time. Would have dove behind a bio bed if given half a second more. Could have commed for help quicker. Aye Doctor, the attack was a wake up call,” a paw waved through the air, illustrating her frustration as she went on, “and the straight forward callousness of the kid during the exchange because he wanted to unload into my hide again is just …” Her gaze went anywhere but on Rue. The feline XO sighed and her eyes again sought out Wydown. “But, that’s over and done with, and I need to be firing on all thrusters right here in the present.” A paw pointed gently at the chief medical officer and JoNs offered a self depreciating smile that show cased her fangs, “And, no, I really have no desire to illegally commandeer a shuttle and go chasing after the Boggie kid. The thought of the incident paper work alone is enough to give me heartburn.” Her one ear flipped back in curiosity. “Now … how exactly are you going to handle this Doctor? Technically, you would need to inform Corizon that his XO might be wigging out on him. Although … I haven’t gone streaking naked across the shuttle bay or attacked anybody or any … tables recently.” Left Ear snorted, “Actually, not to change the subject, but this situation with Patterson? I don’t normally micro manage the chiefs and their departments especially if there is a full on discipline problem because my heavy handed reaction is usually just shy of that said swift cuff to the head. If you need support though Doc, I want you to know that you can call on me. Ship dynamics can be a bit of an education, and with all this internal and external hoopla lately … I know medical has been hopping down here. How are you doing?” The Doctor barked out a laugh. “Me? Oh I just roll with this coaster. Of course, I could start selling tickets on this thrill ride with all this drama, drama, drama around here. Wilson and Patterson’s antics could create a sell out crowd.” Her shoulders shook as she tried to keep from laughing out loud again. She swiped away a stray tear from her eye from the effort. “If I even think anything is beyond my ability to reign it in, you’ll be the first person I call. Honest. Lt Patterson’s issues,” Rue motioned to the PADD that JoNs had laid on the edge of the desk. “Just so that you’re up to date, while I’m not upset about her, um, reaction to the medical exam - a table is no biggie - I am concerned about her state of mind. She made a rather public announcement after the incident in the middle of sickbay no less, and I had to reign her back into a private setting to see what was going on. Even then, I didn’t get much out of her. I’m going to ask Zier to do a full psych eval on her. Maybe then we can help her develop a support system of some sort. The worse thing is I can’t protect her from ship’s 411 Hotline. After a public display like that. I mean it’s one thing to be known as Sister Mary Ruth of the Sisters of Perpetual Profit. It’s a whole different ball of goo for everyone to know the details of your private business.” She sighed. “As to your situation,” Rue smirked. “I bet you thought I’d forgotten that we started out talking about you.” She waggled her finger at the Commander, teasing her. “Yeah, I’ve got keep the CO up to date on your situation. There’s all ready a memo in his box. I’m pretty sure, given what I know of his background, he’ll understand. We’ll be looking out for you to make sure you don’t get too tripped up. And that’s also reason why I won’t clear you medically for an away mission just yet. I want to make sure you can handle it not just physically but mentally too.” JoNs’s ears and whiskers drooped a bit at the ‘no away team clearance’ sanction, but she knew better then to buck the CMO on a matter such as this. For right now at least. Wydown paused, flashing an innocent look, “Of course, if you do plan to go streaking naked across the shuttle bay,” Rue motioned to herself, “Please let Sister Mary Ruth know first so she can sell tickets. Just need five, ten minutes notice, or so.” The Caitian panther couldn’t help but chuckle a bit at that last statement; the soft and pleasant sounding purr carried within the confines of the office. “Not a problem Doctor, I’ll be sure to let Sister Mary Ruth know as soon as I feel the need to flash.”
  21. MISSION BRIEF: One hour has past, the Parents Zier have been called in for their first look at their child since it's return from captivity. Corizon is... upset, as he's realizing the entire mission might be overwith. Excalibur is entering the thicket, where science has been told to 'scan to their hearts content.' 081005_Excalibur_Chat.txt
  22. Men in Tights. Men in tight tight Tights. (Knights saying Nii is just too easy :-P)
  23. Note: Takes place during the 2 hour TBS 10.04.08 USS Agincourt NCC-81762 “Conditioning” A smoke and soot covered cat is not a happy cat, indeed. But, as Kansas couldn’t help reflecting with a touch of sadness as she entered her private quarters, at least she could still ambulate on her two or four legs; there was at least one survivor from the deck two explosions who had had his left leg sheared clean off above the knee by shrapnel. She had found him, half consciousness, in one of the work alcoves within the trashed auxiliary lab. She slapped a transporter marker to his arm and the transporter technician on duty had beamed him, along with a steady stream of survivors and injured, to the main medical bay. The labs, workstations, bulkheads and deck plating of deck two had also been smeared and splashed with the blood and body fluids of those crewmembers who had been flung like rag dolls when the blast hit … that was another image that would not be wiped from the Caitians mind anytime soon. The blood smears were located at the oddest intervals, like a painters brush that had suddenly gone out of control and started painting in splashes with no logical progression or something. The commander made her way to the sonic shower, stripping naked as she went. JoNs seriously considered burning her soot and grime stained uniform, but would probably end up turning it into ships stores for recycling. A wide golden paw swiped at the sonic shower controls, and instead of the usual sonic setting, the feline opted for honest to goodness water. With the grime, dust and soot clinging to her fur like it was, water and soap were her weapons of choice. Kansas scrubbed and scrubbed for a good fifteen minutes, getting the grime off her both literally and figuratively. She could do nothing for the sadness, at least not yet. She finished up by toweling off and drying her fur, all the while her mind reeling with command level concerns, this or that official business that needed tending too, or one of a dozen search and rescue concerns. Emerging from the shower alcove, the leonine Caitian moved across her quarters to the closet and started to remove a clean uniform. She reflexively went for a yellow-gold hued tunic, stopped in mid grab, smirked, and redirected her paw to take the red command tunic. Old habits die hard. The internal ships comm chirped, and then a voice spoke as if from thin air throughout her quarters; the incoming communication had been redirected to the wireless relays located at intervals though out the ship when the computer systems recognized that she had removed her communicator badge prior to jumping into the shower. “Hadrian to Commander JoNs. Come in Commander.” The feline exec stretched a painful tension kink out of her right shoulder with a low purred moan before she responded to the summons. “JoNs here,” she paused a moment while she mentally recalled Hadrian. Female. Human. Chief Petty Officer. Normally worked third shift down in cargo handling, and was also the shift leader for one of the third shift Damage Control Response teams. All the DC response teams were pitching in to help with the clean up on the second deck labs. “What’s up Chief?” “Just reporting in with some DC team movements sir. Beta team is taking a break, and my team is moving in to spot them for a few. We’ll be working on the environmental controls.” “Thanks for the heads up Chief and be careful. I’ll inform the CO and the Chief Engineer. JoNs out.” Kansas finished dressing and then quickly exited her quarters, her well conditioned body and mind automatically going back into duty mode in order to meet the next incoming crisis head on. And maybe bite a nice sized fragging chunk out of it too.
  24. Mission Brief: So when we left off, there had been a rather large explosion on Deck 2, near the Science labs and Environmental Controls. Rescue teams hadn't been able to go in yet, since the air was bad-to-nonexistant. 081001_Agincourt_Chat_Log.txt
  25. 10.01.08 Agincourt Mission Update: TBS: 2 Hours - Deck 2 is seriously compromised; the air quality is very bad, and there were quite a few personnel badly injured by the explosions; Damage Control Teams and Medical personnel go to work investigating the area and offering medical aide to the survivors, respectively. - Chief Science Officer Condacin and the Bridge personnel discuss and apparently discover that Something Very Important was stored in the auxiliary labs. - What caused this explosion on Deck 2 and the resulting compromise of the affected systems? Sabotage? Faulty equipment? Installation error?
