About Me

Kaara Soora is a mainly human girl with a heritage of Vulcan in her blood.  Her great-grandfather was a Vulcan, who fell in love and impregnated a human on Earth, only to leave her during her pregnancy for some unknown reason.  Kaara's father had no signs of Vulcan in his appearance, so when Kaara was born with a Vulcan right ear, Vulcan green blood and unnatural strength, her parents were mystified.  Kaara soon came to hate the Vulcan side of herself, as it earned her no friends in school and only teasing.  Her parents enrolled her into martial arts and she took to it like fish to water.

She grew up in Georgia, but after her father left her mother and her, Kaara and her mother, Dandre, moved up to Virginia where her mother had found a job as a high school teacher. It was in Virginia that Kaara finished up her schooling. She never visited any other states, as she mostly kept to herself in school and socially.

Kaara Soora went through emergency medical training on Earth after the required schooling was done. After the EMT training, she went on to become an RN.

After her mother died, she decided to move to New Vulcan.  She contacted the proper people there, sent her paperwork and proved she was part-Vulcan.  Her grades exceptional, she was accepted into the New Vulcan Academy.  She succeeded in passing the test to get into the academy proper, and gained a mentor to help her learn the Vulcan ways.  She soon had learned to subdue her emotions enough for them to not show on her face, and for her to look at things logically.  Although she is mostly human, she soon embraces the Vulcan side of her.

She graduated after a couple of years, earning the equivalent of her doctorate in Medical Sciences, along with learning advanced hand-to-hand combat, weapons training, engineering, and conventional sciences.  She worked at the Academy Hospital for a while, before deciding it was time to go off into the galaxy and make a difference somewhere, as a Vulcan.

Currently, she is aboard the Qob as Chief Medical Officer.  Although she has met some hostility because of her race, it is not nearly as harsh as she knows it would be within the Federation.
