  1. Happy Birthday to the Goddess of STSF! Have a great one Dac! -Precip
  2. Softball size hail can ruin a good windshield....or forehead for that matter. -Precip "whose uncle's hometown got hit by a storm that produced the stuff..."
  3. Stargate Atlantis and Later SG-1 epis used quite a bit of stock footage over..and over again. This cannot be for a ship in the aformentioned plot description. This ship should look derelict, old...yet able to absorb some punishment for the inevitable spacebattles it will face. And it certainly should not follow Star Trek Voyager as role model when it comes to stock footage usage and an endless supply of support craft. The ship itself will be a character of the show given the premise. If it takes a beating in an episode, leave scars. Oh and the characters...well...err.. I'll leave that up to you. Precip "Sci-Fi Ship Enthusiast"
  4. Hummingbirds are attracted to the color red. -Precip
  5. I pitteh the fool who has to come up with a script for Transformers 3; I mean..this last movie has dug such a scriptwriter's hole...gah! The movie ends with... Decepticons still in control of Space. Decipticons control Global Communications They made too many darn Transformers to keep track of in this one... gonna add more in the third? Michael Bey, You Sank the mightiest warship in the World, Destroyed the Great Pyramid of Giza. Missiled Paris.. Oh..and recreated Jar Jar binks in the guise of not one but two Transformers! Who the heck is going to want to buy those two GM cars!! Sam and Mikeala go there seperate ways again. How ya going to bring them back .. Heck you might as well make them military. The only good thing about the movie was the use of real military equipment. Yet I wonder...how the heck do you top a B-1 Lancer carpetbombing Decepticons? Oh gawsh...he's going to go nuclear next time. Oh well I guess I will get to see Megan Fox again. -Precip

  10. Mitar was tired. The facial regognition software he had added to the PRECIPCAM system had identified the crewmen entering and exiting Main Engineering during the period Admiral Atragon had ordered Precip to investigate. All had been identified as Engineers, except one. Marguax Roget. His predecssor, his mentor. Precip rubbed his eyes. It had been the ROGETCAM system installed on the original Manticore that had been very useful to his former suprerior. And now, on the Manticore-A..a similiar system that his mentor wasn't aware of (he presumed)...caught her image entering then leaving engineering right around the time of the illegal transmission sent from MENG. What was she doing there? Paying a social call to Chief Garnoopy? To his knowledge she rarely fraternized with engineers.. ::his mind ached:: Reviewing the PRECIPCAM had taken hours and it wasnt the only thing on his plate he had to deal with. The Engineer that Lt. Cdr. Kansas Kenickie subdued on Romulus had filed a complaint, the complaint was an assault on an officer. That officer being Lt. Doug T. Kenickie had already filed an incident report regarding the matter and from what interviews he had conducted with the security detail on the Romulan misssion..her actions were apparently justified. But Doug. T's superiors wanted an investigation on Kenickie's conduct and Precip was forced to comply no matter what his officers had said. He was basically going to have to interview everyone from the Away Team on the Romulus misssion to obtain a "fair and balanced" picture of what happened. Upon accumulating sufficient testimony, only then could Precip decide if Lt Cdr. Kansas Kenickie should be disciplined. Mitar rolled his chair away from his desk holding his hands to his head and groaned. The medical problems he had had, the strain of commanding Manticore in Romulan Space and these investigations were taking a toll on him. He was swamped. He needed rest. He did not see any rest coming. PS: PRECIPCAM is derivitave of the Rogetcam TM system....Lawsuit pending on copyright infringement
  11. Spain, the largest Country on the Iberian Peninsula of Europe is a devout football(soccer) nation. Needless to say their must be some pretty pissed Spainard football fans. -Precip
  12. OOOhh!!! Creating a new another new ship! Cool! -Precip
  13. Three hours of questioning in Engineering. Three hours of not so happy engineers. Three hours bore out some facts. Fact: the MENG console was used as the source of the transmission input. Determined by Operations on the bridge. Fact: The Transmission took place while Manticore was in Romulan Space, which made Mitar so determined to figure out who made the transmission. Fact: Despite arriving as soon as he can, he was only able to interview the personel in MENG upon his arrival. Fact: A time gap between the transmission and Mitar's arrival in Engineering is known. Fact: After 3 hrs of questioning,Not one Engineer is aware of anyone using the MENG console for a transmission. Fact: After 3 hrs of questioning,Not one Engineer is aware of anyone who visited Main Engineering from another department. Fact: The MENG console used for the transmission has no information regarding who accessed and transmitted the signal. Fact: After 3 hrs of being what Mitar felt..tyrannical he had nothing to inform Admiral Atragon as to whom was behind the transmission. There were those who did admit to being on duty in MENG when the transmission took place but failed to recall if anyone was on the console. Chief Engineer Garnoopy was standing up for his staff...something Mitar would do if he was in his shoes. Could someone of evaded Garnoopy's staff and accessed the MENG transmission console? Upon viewing the rest of MENG from the Console, Precip felt this was unlikely. Could it have been remotely accessed? IF so..Chief Garnoopy, Mitar felt would be more aggravated than he already was at this Security sweep of "his" engine room. And Garn would be darn certain to find out how someone accessed it remotely. Precip didnt feel good at all after what he did. But it was his Job. Garn was his friend...who joined Manticore the same time he did. They were shipmates. Yet Mitar had to tell Garnoopy just how dangerous what occurred and whomever executed it was either, willing to put the ship at risk for some unknown motive...or extremely stupid. Precip doubted the later. ::Bolian swear words on log:: This was frustrating...if forensic scans of the console reveal nothing, Chief Garnoopy would probably tear the ship's entire comm system apart to try to find out who accessed his department's terminal. Mitar sighed..he had only one other option, one that was going to make several people unhappy at him; but he was left with no other choice. After three hours, Precip went back to security to complete his task.
  14. I've seen quite a bit of horror movies, but I have never seen such death scene before. It amazes how many different ways horror movies kill people. Errr whoops! Stay off Topic! Precip
  15. I truly feel like a weather enthusiast in exile, here in Anaheim. 75 and sunny..75 and sunny...75 and sunny.. -Precip
  16. I can't wait for the DVD either. I'll finally get my look at those other Starships featured in the movie! I agree with your assessment of Karl Urban's performance, I thought he nailed "Bones" right on the mark. As for Leonard Nimoy, Spock did mention that he was "emotionally compromised" at the loss of Vulcan and it's people. Perhaps Nimoy thought a shellshocked, more emotional portrayal of Spock was necessary. -Precip
  17. Yeah...that sure looks like 21st century Crusader Cavalry. -Precip
  18. Perhaps a "cheap" look suggests, a more primitive type of engineering to the viewer. ::shrugs:: Will be interesting what changes they make with a sequel. -Precip
