This, combined with his fascination with space and warp drive and its mechanics, led Aaron to desire to someday be a Star Fleet Engineer, like his grandfather. However, it would be sometime before Aaron was able to pursue his dream. He was first enlisted as a Star Fleet Marine due to his father's encouragement. Aaron dropped out midway through training to follow his dreams and entered Star Fleet Academy. He worked hard and became a quick learner at whatever his professors taught him. His fascination with the mechanics of warp drive lead him to become an expert in that field. On Star Date 0303.21, Aaron graduated from Star Fleet Academy and joined his grandfather in the ranks of Star Fleet Engineers.
