Good evening, STSF! Thanks to the wonderful organizational skills of Jami Farrington, I was reminded that tomorrow, July 31, is the day of the year when STSF was formally organized. This was 15 years ago tomorrow!! Happy Birthday, STSF, you don't look a day over... well, uhhm, 15, I guess. This sent me back to my personal archives and I see that I first started Star Trek simming 8 years prior, on SFOL, so that makes me a 23 year veteran of Trek RPG and *I KNOW* I'm not the one who has been doing it the longest around here, by a long shot (looking at you Jami, Blu, Fred, and on and on) I want to thank everyone who is involved in all aspects of STSF, especially the people simming here, just because it's fun. Sure, I came to all of this because of my love of Star Trek, but I stayed because it's fun to play! I won't dare to list the people involved in helping to make STSF and keeping it going - I'm always terrible at listing names and leaving out VIPs that I shouldn't have (just like that list of long-time simmers above, I just *KNOW* that I have forgotten a whole file cabinet full of names). Welcome back, former FairBol. There are a lot of us from SFOL days around here, since STSF is what happened to SFOL (or is that "happening with"?) As far as your other posting about getting sims going, you can imagine how chat-based Star Trek sims were of much more interest 15 years ago (among us Trek nerds), but that the popularity has declined a bit. Please take a look at the Schedule page and come visit any of the regular sims that happen each week. If you like something you see, ask the GMs there about in-sim training and come back to us as a regular!
