  1. I mean't no offense to you A9, sorry ::Just sighs and walks away, muttering:: His time will come...
  2. Danger? Danger on my ship??? Well... uhmmm, hmmm And as for that Spacedock Admiral chuckling at my ship, all I have to say is, that's why he's an Admiral but he's still running a SPACEDOCK! (m)chuckling, is he???
  3. Ahh, 99, what a good number!! Happy, Happy Birthday, M'Lady Lightning! -A9
  4. =/\= MANTICORE BRIEFING #237, STARDATE 50212.23 =/\= The Manticore has arrived at Citadel 18, where intelligence has been alerted to a possible threat. We have discovered an ordnance testing area and the weapons being used are too advanced for the population's current stage of development. A member of Starfleet Intelligence, Col. Kurtz, was spotted with the locals running the tests and Col. Eason is NOT happy to see him. An away team of Eason, Roget and Suberance returned to the surface to find out more, but they were discovered and only Roget was able to return to the ship before being detained. =/\= END MANTICORE BRIEFING #237, STARDATE 50212.23 =/\=
  5. Wow, has he figured that out quickly or what!!?? Hey Garn, I hope that wound heals soon from where she got you for dissing her shoes last month...
  6. Well, okay - so it's not your specific bosses, but it's still a sim that I liken to a cross between Star Trek, Mission Impossible, Man from U.N.C.L.E. and F Troop (okay, so maybe not that first one {kidding}) Yes, I spend a lot of time saying to the crew, "But the end will justify the means," as they give me evil looks... heee!

  8. BLASPHEMY!!!! Heh-heh, yupyup, you nailed it! Depending on the player interest and GM availability, we will definitely look into an "Advanced Academy." In the meantime, you should talk to your sim's GMs and see what they would like from you to show your In Character advancement. Maybe a detailed log or two about a seminar in advanced hypo-thermic, level 3, dual checksum technobable. Maybe something you would do during a sim, depending on the main actions going on around you. Maybe just some cookies in the mail to your GM's RL address (I'm kidding on that one).
  9. Yes, as Laura mentioned, it's good to have a few new Ensigns, etc. in the room but not have them choking up the Dept head slots. In my experience with the newly graduated of STSF, that's never been a problem. Many will PM me with "put me wherever you need me, I'm just here to have fun," and that's a great attitude!! I will always give preference to a cadet who is showing genuine interest in a particualr post. As for "Advanced Academies" or whatever you would call them, I think this is a great idea... but not now. STSF currently has four training academies and we are working on bringing in some new GMs (everyone notice stsf_dacotah, going through GM training?) and setting up some more academies. That has to be our first priority for now. I'm sure the Advanced sim COs and XOs are aware of a player's skills, eagerness to excell and commitment to the sim. It is ultimately up to them to decide when someone on their crew gets a promotion, whether they go to a Graduate Academy or not. Therefore, this kind of extra training may help the player get promoted or it may just help them play better, but there is no way to know for sure. 10. Not MP3, but I have a WAV file of it. Send me your e-mail address (to mine - [email protected]) and I can send you the WAV -A9
  11. BTW, as much as I'd like to look as cool as Patrick Stewart, I'm not bald, balding or thinning on top, I just have ::sigh:: hair. Okay, we need to settle this once and for all. Attached is my picture. Not bald!!!! sheesh! ::walks away muttering::
  12. ... and so we blow them up! ::):

  14. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from STSF !! All STSF Academy and Advanced Simulations will be cancelled for Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25. These sims will also be cancelled for Tuesday, December 31 and Wednesday, January 1. If any GMs are online and wish to pop into the room to see if members want to play, please feel free! However, no official sims will take place during the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Have safe and happy holidays!! Atragon-9 STSF Forum Leader
  15. PM? Naaah, let's do a public flogging!! BTW, as much as I'd like to look as cool as Patrick Stewart, I'm not bald, balding or thinning on top, I just have ::sigh:: hair. As for ACTIONs, my favorite one that I toss out, occasionally, on Manticore is this one. ACTION: NOTHING HAPPENS
  16. What I usually do is the search for new posts, read them, then click on the link for "Message Boards" which takes me back to the overview display of all boards. Then, when I click the "Mark as Old" at the bottom, it marks every board with the one command. It may be one more step after reading the new mail, but you don't have to use the "Mark as Old" in each sub-board/forum. Just my 2¢

  18. Yeah - what he said! Naaah, I don't have any feathers to ruffle (or hair, if you believe FredM {but don't believe him}). -A9
  19. I don't know if you could really call this an "off-shoot" of SFOL. Many of the GMs of STSF were (and some still are) involved with SFOL on AOL. However, this forum is a completely new entity that has no allegiance or ties to AOL or SFOL. A lot of simming concepts and conventions are universal across the Internet, there's no real way to trace back to any definitive source. We are, however, associated with Paramount, the home of Star Trek™ and that is why we can use their names and chat room for our purposes. Thanks. Atragon-9 STSF Forum Leader
  20. Maybe the information would be old, but his haircut would be cool!!! :( -A9
  21. Find Nick at Night or TV Land or TBS and watch "Hogan's Heroes"
  22. > Sovak, watch yourself, he coming for a sample! > Col Klutz, I love it!!! Is this like Col. Klink?? Will he look at Claire and go, "EEEE-SONNNNN!" (ok, sorry, showing my age) > And how do you think we keep the peace and freedom? It's by having dirty little secrets like Manticore, eh?? Good log, Garn - it really shows us what your character is thinking! -Commodore A9
  23. Aww gee, thanks! ::wonders if Lightning's "9" key got stuck on her keyboard::
  24. ::Sitting on the Bridge, scanning a report on a PADD, he presses a membrane on the arm of the Command Chair:: Computer, begin personal log, Commodore Atragon-9, commanding officer, USS Manticore, NCC-5852, password ********* I have just received a report from Colonel Eason with the away team and I have requested they return to the ship for now. It seems that the locals are testing weapons that they should not even know how to build. This, of course, means that they are getting help from some offworld source. That is disturbing considering the planet's dictator, a Generalisimo Brando, has been on the Federation watch list for years now. I know that the Federation is not aiding the people of Citadel or the Generalisimo. Seeing these weapons in action, I can definitely see the reason that Special Ops wants us here. The bigger problem is that there is some interference with these people coming from a high ranking member of Starfleet Intelligence itself, in the person of a Colonel Kurtz. Col. Eason would not tell me how she knows this man, only that she is extremely worried. I haven't known Claire to ever be a "worrier" so, of course, I'm falling to pieces completely. I need her to tell me what she can about this operative so I can decide if we have been sent to aid him, sent to stop him or simply sent to monitor and the Consul General doesn't even know he's here. I always hated the political side of this job! Gads!! I've directed Ens HelmGuy to keep us as far away from the surface as possible and still be able to transport. I've also ordered the cloak engaged just in case. Then again, this Kurtz may have the technology to see us even cloaked, you can never tell with the latest spy gadgets. For that matter, should we make ourselves known to him and render assistance!!?? Oh what I wouldn't give for a black-and-white case of bad guys that need to be blown up! Computer, EOM, EOT
