  1. You people and your complaining! "Oh, it is 91 with a heat index of 100! Oh no!" Please... Come on down and live near the Everglades in the middle of the summer, then tell me what hot is! Geesh....sudden urge to smite someone....
  2. Hey there, Interesting image except it features the wrong Enterprise firing at the Reliant. :P
  3. Hey there, This is an important point. Why? Because often times, when joining an advanced sim, certain games will have different requirements about your character when you do graduate and join. No one wants to spend the time creating a great character while a cadet only to find out they can't use it when they get their assignment orders!
  4. Hey there, I recently saw a Chase credit card commercial that featured a guy wearing a coconut bra and skirt...got me thinking. Anyway... I will be there.
  5. What a sad thing.... From CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/TV/02/25/g...dex.html?hpt=T1
  6. U.S.S. Reaent October 15, 2009 What happened after the "flash of white..." USSReaentOctober152009.txt
  7. There isn't a Sci-Fi show that has ever been made that didn't have cliches and plot holes. Even the mini-series of BSG has some serious "holes" in it and looked how that turned out. :P
  8. Hey there, I have actually enjoyed the show thus far. I think the largest issue is that people need to look at it for what it is, not "what it is compared to SG1 or SGA."

  11. Hey there, I'm actually looking to pick up the Klingon Battle Cruiser. The detail on the ornament is almost like that of a model (really, really detailed). It is designed after the detailed models seen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
  12. What? You mean they probably saw the pickle violation earlier today when I thru away that pickle? They are a myth! The Pickle Police do not exist! They don't!
  13. Hey there, I'm bored....so I figured I would start a thread. I kind of got tired of the previous "Curious Question" thread the seems to have been invaded by The Force. I honestly don't see why we can't have a solid discussion about how the forum started 7 years ago tomorrow... So, word is they are starting work on the next Star Trek film script....
  14. Hey there, I have come to a conclusion.... ... ... ...
  15. No, A9 tried saying that about half a decade ago at a Shore Leave...the result? I had to get another beer. I will say that it is...odd. Those that were there in Baltimore in 2002 can attest that the entire concept of making STSF was, in no way, a sure thing. In fact, it was a huge gamble as to whether or not the organization would be positioned to survive long term. Some folks did not like the concept of what we did, though I think most of the "haters" have been gone for awhile now. But to sit back and go "That was 7 years ago...." just blows my mind.
  16. I find your lack of faith disturbing...
  17. Hey there, Only people that attend Shore Leave are given any clue as to the true nature of STSF...how it all happened, why it all happened, and what will happen in the future.
  18. This is a historical chat log from April 16, 2009 featuring the U.S.S. Reaent's return to the Alpha Quadrant. Posted due to missing copy. Reaent_04_16_09.txt
  19. What happened... Um... Well... Uh... We watched movies. Yeah, movies. We also toasted the 7th anniversary of the meeting of the Rebel Alliance while watching movies. Yup. That's what happened.
  20. Hey there, With people talking about explaining the time travel items, thought it might be best to get it from the horse's mouth. :P TrekMovie.com has a section where the two writers of the film are answering questions fans post. Here is one dealing with this very subject (click here for the full article):
  21. Hey there, I actually have to wonder something though. Scotty didn't have that equation in TOS for the transporter. "Transwarp beaming" is something they hadn't done previously. I'm wondering...was that in fact an equation Scotty finished in the TNG/DS9 timeframe? Just an interesting thought. ;)
  22. Hey there, One thing I would caution everyone on. Simply saying "We're in the un-modified" timeline is not necessarily enough. Using that, in 2011 (2387 IC), Romulus' star will need to go super nova and Ambassador Spock will go MIA thru a temporal vortex. Now, that might be fine, but...it 'is.' That part of this movie was taking place in the "unmodified/original" timeline. While it is an "alternate timeline," this will be the modern mainstream Trek for (hopefully) many more movies to come. I'm certain each game will make their own decisions about what is and isn't incorporated. For example, if one embraces the new timeline, then "Spock" won't necessarily be on Romulus in 2387 to say "I'll stop the super nova." Perhaps the Romulans seek Federation help and succeed in stopping the super nova. The end result? Vulcan is really "new Vulcan" in reality but other than that life can "go forward." A few games might simply say Romulus goes boom and Spock vanishes. Some might just ignore the entire film, so I know people will be staying tuned to see what their GMs will be doing. ;) Oh, and V'Roy, your character's species would be endangered in the 2260s...not necessarily in 2385. Since I think the count is what we saw TOS was 126 years in the past, that means the 10,000K that survived will hit Pon Farr at least 18 times...plus moderate times for their offspring, population could easily be back near 3/4 of a million at a minimum. No, not a ton, but not necessarily endangered either.
  23. Hey there, I saw it last night. A few things... First, from what I could tell, every showing of this film Thursday night had a capacity crowd. The theatre itself originally only had 2 showings but by Thursday night, had expanded it to 10. It looks like they were all full. I also know the IMAX screening sold out for the entire weekend as of Tuesday. This being said, I think attendance to this film looks to be going strong. Second, people were STANDING outside of the threatre after the film (at Midnight) talking in groups for 30+ minutes. Large amounts of people, just talking about this movie. The reaction inside during the film was amazing. Laughing, clapping, people joking, it was great. Third, by the time the film ended, everything was *pretty much* the way it was supposed to be...down to Christopher Pike being in a wheelchair. The only exception, obviously, is that one planet that blew up. HOWEVER, there is NOTHING in Star Trek lore that ever confirmed the population / location of Vulcan from the TOS Movies forward. Nada, zip. So...that is to say that the "new Vulcan colony" isn't the Vulcan we know from TOS Movies, TNG, DS9, etc.? Nothing. That is even putting into account that yes, the timeline has changed, but.... I think the special effects were amazing. The acting was great. I honestly don't have many complaints! Going to go see it again. This film did what it needed. It made me, a die-hard Trek fan, happy and I know it is very approachable by common movie goers.
  24. Eat Well And Prosper?
  25. Hey there, Was anyone able to see it?
