  1. Through the Looking Glass... Ki'rok found a quiet place in the torpedo room to sit a moment. There was nothing left for him to do...but wait. But was he waiting to live...or die? Before this entire episode, he had been fascinated with time travel. His fathers stories of Spock and the Guardian of Forever would keep him on the edge of his seat. Of course, it was all classified and nearly impossible to validate, but his father swore they were true. Now, if he never heard of anything resembling the time paradox, it would be too soon. It was just too tempting. It was just too dangerous. Too many past mistakes and indescretions just longing to be "corrected." And if the time line gets damaged in the process...who would know? Of course Ki'rok had thought about using the Guardian for another trip...one of a more personal nature. Simply warn his father of the mistake...no...his father was/is too stubborn/proud/arrogant to believe him. He could delay his mother..preventing her from leaving at the appropriate time... Lee coughed and startled Ki'rok. It was as if he knew. Ki'rok sighed. They were through the looking glass now..no turning back. The mission would succeed...he would cease to exist..and his counterpart would be blissfully ignorant of the whereabouts of the Guardian of Forever. And that...was a good thing. He closed his eyes and waited to see where THIS rabbit hole led.
  2. The time had come. The wait was over. Two possible futures...but would they ever know the outcome. If they succeeded, this timeline would end...and they and the remaining Republicans would cease to exist. If they failed...well...no time to think about that now. Ki'rok and his partner Lee strode toward the turbo lift. Theirs was a separate mission than the rest though simple enough; load the torpedoes...don't get caught. Simple enough...until the turbo lift doors opened and in walked trouble. The young ensign recognized Lee. Not necessarily a problem...Ki'rok waited to see what would develop. The AENG began to question Lee..."Mr. Lee? Weren't you just in Main Engineering?" Lee answered… "Why yes ensign, then I left to……recalibrate the injectors." Ki'rok waited. The Ensign appeared to grow suspicious..."You just asked me to take a look at those injectors... what's going on here?" Lee tried to save the lie, "I'm afraid you have it all wrong, I...ordered you to recalibrate the deflector." Now the Ensign frowned…"But you had just finished recalibrating the deflector" The desperate look in Lees eyes and the tone of the nosy ensign gave Ki’rok no choice. The Ensign reached for his com badge...and Ki'rok could wait no longer. Before the young man could speak, Ki'rok applied a Vulcan neck pinch, and he immediately slumped forward. Lee sighed…"Excellent job ensign, now how do you suppose we take care of this?" Lee pointed to their unconscious crewmate. Ki’rok raised a brow…”I believe your counterpart was to blame for this.” Lee tried to think faster…"Let's just put him in the Jefferies Tube across the hall." Ki’rok hated to interfere any further with the existing timeline…but they did have a job to do..and very little time… "Alright…wait here while I make sure no one is coming.” Ki'rok exited the turbo Lift and went to make sure no other surprises were in store for the duo... The corridor was…blissfully quiet. Lee began dragging the unlucky ensign across the floor as Ki’rok watched for any approaching crewman. The two gently slung the ensign in the Jeffries tube..but not before removing his com badge. Then, the real mission began. Lee went to work immediately. He made short work of the security overrides as well as looping video to the bridge to allow them to work unnoticed. Ki’rok realized he drew this assignment probably for nothing more than his strength…as they would have to load the heavy torpedoes manually. But, it didn’t matter. All that mattered was the future of…their other selves. In moments, Lee had everything ready…and Ki’rok began loading the torpedo tubes. He believed two would suffice...but Lee insisted on prepping three. “Better safe than sorry”…said Lee. The battle bridge crew signaled…and Kirok acknowledged “3 tubes…at your disposal.” Lee and Ki’rok fell silent as the two men prepared for whatever future lay waiting in the wormhole.
  3. I agree for the most part..the existing genres are ...played out. The birth of the Federation would be interesting to see...even though Enterprise has aligned Archer with it. I say ditch them all...except maybe for Spock....and develop on the Unification episode from TNG. In any event...more Rihanssu...less Nemesis (the movie..na the Monkey)
  4. Well...I hope that Kirk is not still in the Nexus...cause then the whole point of the movie was flawed as Sowran was trying to get BACK to it. As for Kirk...::looks around:: I think the last episode of TNG summed it up nicely.. All good things must come to an end...I have seen enough of Kirk ::ducks:: A Rihannsu plot for Enterprise would be nice..although not much about them could be known...since in TOS they knew next to nothing of the past hundred years or so of their development. But why bother with sticking to the original story...dont all these temporal incursions alter all future history, anyway? That would/could explain every continuity glitch ever found. Or maybe...we just have entirely too much time on our hands... ;) Im thankful Gene created the show...with the exception of DS9 I have loved every incarnation of it...but it is, was, and always will be... for entertainment, so enjoy.
  5. Well, DUH!! Of course you have a bunch of fish, Blu... Poor little things prolly never know what hits them ;) I have no kitty, VanRoy... And someone poisoned my dog earlier this year so I am animaless... ^_^
  6. Welcome, Tachyon. I repeat all the others have said... 7. Well...the cat, and the rest of Shrek IIs cast is out of the bag...and boy what an opening weekend. The bar HAS been set. The green guy and his crew raked in over 104 million over the weekend...coming in second for the best opening weekend to whom....Spiderman (of last year...114 million) It is definitely on, now...will Harry get potted...will the wall crawler lose his grip? Stay tuned..to this thread for more updates ;)
  8. Ki'rok opened his eyes to take in a red sky...in all its glory. Oh how long had it been since he had slept THAT hard. It was if he was waking from death. He sat up on his bed and listened to the sounds of the morning. He could hear his mother Tam'arra, cooking downstairs. The smell was wonderful...oh so nice to not be overwhelmed by the sensation. Just the right blend of spices and seasoning to enhance the flavor of the food instead of cover it up. He suddenly realized he could hear his mother singing. An uncommon occurance to be sure. He was baffled by this until she called to him to come down for breakfast and never missed a beat in the song...it was IN his head. He could hear her song...in his head. He knew his father would not approve of this so he would not bring this up over breakfast. Still, it was obvious he was different from the other children...and always would be. As he walked down the stairs, he didnt see the figure at the table. Only after he reached the bottom of the stairs and turned toward the kitchen did he see the figure as it rose. His surprise turned to alarm as it drew back and knocked him across the room with a powerful swing. He crashed into the table in the main room splintering it beneath his minimal weight. The figure...female, possibly human...began screaming at him..."WHY...Why did you do it?" He could feel her breathe and spittle on his face as she closed to within centimeters of him...her hands firmly around his throat. It was then he caught of glimpse of his mother out of the corner of his eye. She was standing in front of the door with a look of sadness, the depths of which he had never seen before. But why would she not help him. He didnt have too long to ponder this question as the woman shrieked and grabbed her chest..falling back and writhing in apparent agony on the floor. Ki'rok managed to raise up on his elbows while still on his back...trying to catch his breathe. And still, his mother stood...still as a statue. He could feel it now..waves and waves of utter and total sadness...brokeness. This was as bad if not worse than the throtling from the mystery woman. Ki'rok was sinking...drowning in this sea of sadness. He looked to her..."mother, please...make this stop." She seemed to shift slightly and stared directly into his eyes. "This is not my doing, child...you have only yourself..." She was unable to complete the sentence before the door seemed to explode...splinters of wood flying in every direction...as a cloaked figure entered the home. No need in trying to hide it at this point...Ki'rok was afraid. She did not move as the intruder walked up to her. She did not make a sound as it lifted her from the floor. Ki'rok stared in horror..."No...NOT AGAIN......" There was a slight popping noise..then a thud...as Tam'arra Ki's decapitated head hit the floor. Ki'rok heard a sound. It was a strange sound...like the wind through a empty vase. It was moments before he realized the sound was coming from him. He was waling...like no Vulcan before. The creature approached him, now. And though the tears burned his cheeks he would not...could not...look away. His hand managed to find the broken splinter of a table leg. He would avenge his mother. As the creature approached, its cloak fell away revealing the Cricket warrior within. The creature fixed its eyes on Ki'rok and lept at him... Ki'rok yelped...the sound reverberating throughout the freighter. Yet noone stirred. He wiped the tears from his eyes and quickly glanced around to see if anyone saw or heard. If so, they were kind enough not to let on. He moved to the rear of the cabin. Ki'rok pulled his knees up to his chest and let his head fall between them. It had been years since he had the nightmares. He tried to remember the face of his mother as he sobbed in the thankfully dark bowels of the Raknor IV.
  9. So I guess the answer would depend on its purpose...hmmm I say NX-01..just because noone else has.... But really love the D.... (cant wait to get back on the Republic)
  10. ::snarkles::Too dramatic....obviously you've never seen a Pandarian chew on your XO's leg like a drumstick.. :) Fine job...stop by the holodeck..weekdays @ 5pm EST for some unofficial simming practice... Welcome to STSF...
  11. I just hope they find a space dock somewhere and put the NX-01 back together...It looks like they are flying around space in a block of metallic swiss cheese ;)
  12. DUH ;) I know its The Sixth Sense ( not the Fifth Element...I See Patterns) I put that because small African children now recognize that phrase... I thought signs was an AWESOME movie...an Alien movie with spiritual undertones...never done like that before...and yeah, the Hand got EVERYBODY! Catwoman...I think will suck...other than obvious eye candy...Its supposed to NOT be based on the Batman character...yeah..ok. :D I must admit while I dont care for Harry Potter, this is starting to look like a good one... Still "stickin" with Peter Parker, though....what can I say...Im a web-head. :)
  13. Congrats..Van Roy....on your promotion ;)
  14. ::GULP:: Great..then Id be up til 1am watching it ;) HEY...new smilies :) :D
  15. Shame on my Romulan counterpart for overlooking a major sci-fi film this summer...I'Robot. This one should be quite interesting.
  16. ::thinking of Sir Gallahad at the end of Last Crusade:: Thats an understatement. As someone who has been happily hitched for over 6 yrs (still newlywed older couples say) it is important to take your time. Having said that...when it works..and it CAN...it is truly a wonderful thing. It is not without compromise...but I am very proud to be my wifes husband (and not just because shes hot  )
  17. My first encounter with them was last night...and I survived. I dont know if they are boring...Lulu looked cute running after the various crewmen. But I can understand your frustration, Nemesis...resistance can, at times, seem futile.
  18. Yes...now what would be a good villain  Oh...I know...how about..the Koalans :P ...naaa, noone would believe cute, cuddly bears could be a threat :) ;) BEWARE OF PANDARIANS :)
  19. Well Randy, I dont know about the other guys  But I use the tools all the time.to get PMs (no proposals) check new posts..see what everyone else is doing online...all kinds of nifty stuff...
  20. As Im sure most of you have seen...the new Enterprise preview looks incredible. THey really did a super job on producing this thing...you could have never seen an episode and want to watch....hey wait...maybe thats the point  Seriously..I was glad to see a promo on another network(SPIKE). This should hopefully add to the overall appeal (as well as fan base) of Enterprise... Plus...a different font...claims that some wont return..perhaps they will change more than the intro next season..if there IS a next season.
  21. hehehe...yeah...once Vosh figured out how to load the Macro rifle
  22. True..but these are network breaks, I believe (work at a tv station so kinda have a clue about structure). Plus they are in Spikes afternoon TREK block..so its just good placement. Either way..it looks REALLY good.....WOOOHOOO
  23. LOL..saw the old animaniacs spoof of TOS last night... Yakko, Wakko, and Dot...are set to go ...where no Warner has gone before... They then run out of the transporter room directly to bathrooms...DONE ROFLMAO
  24. Definitely... Perhaps they could hook up with the founders...
  25. What WAS that smell?? Ki'rok tried to meditate...it had been awhile since he had the opportunity. But the smell was atrocious. The Raknor IV was NOT the Republic. Still, aside from the stench of stale...Gagk?...it was getting them where they needed to be. Now it was simply a matter of when. The timing, again, was critical to the success of the mission. His supervisor had reminded everyone to avoid there counterparts. He thought back to questioning Captain Velos about the same thing and everyone poking fun at him. He had to realize that what was said was not as important necessarily as who said it. But this was getting him nowhere. They were hours away from DS9 and he needed to use this time wisely...either prepare mentally for the task at hand or try to rest...physically. He looked over at the Admiral...twitching in fitful, drug induced sleep. There were plenty aspects of the mission that needed analyzing. But, after the turmoil of the previous days...he needed rest, as well. Especially with the fate of the entire Federation just a few hours away. This was truly the Eye of the storm. This moment of peace was fleeting and only a fool would fail to take advantage of it. "I am no fool..." Ki'rok said...to noone inparticular. He lay his head back against the tiny seat...closed his eyes...and focused on breathing in through his mouth...
