  1. The Java/Sun Website Sun.com (who developed Java, by coincidence ;)) has some tools - the link is above. HD
  2. Hehehe- I know that I can't make it. Anyone going wanna take a Webcam along and show all of us stuck outside of Sin City what's happening? ;) HD
  3. I was curious as to who are the people in the picture on the Front page of the website. I just noticed it, and became curious. (the real Ensign) HD
  4. Did Losira get kicked out of Starfleet again? I told her to keep quiet about that incident...... ;)
  5. Yea, Fred. You may be right..... I am just dying to see what Lightning looks like. ;) (Yes, and maybe A9, too, but don't let that get around.) HD
  6. I thought something looked a little different from the first time I read that message to the second time. ;) There seemed to be more words...... :) Alas, the "Webmaster Stikes Back"..... sounds like a very boring movie to go see. :D HD
  7. Oops! The "About Us" section. ;) HD
  8. hehehe - If all else fails, I have two different Chat rooms on my server that STSF could use. (Although I would need to be told... etc.) :) For all I care..... you could use it as a back-up STSF Holodeck (just in case the ST.com Holodeck acts up again.) Perhaps (even if you don't use mine ;)) the GM's should still search for another place to chat, for if the Peoplelink server ever goes down again. Just a thought.... HD
  9. Ah, gees. Thanks guys! I may not be 100, but according to my back problems....... I think it would be about the same. ;) HD
  10. Actually, I just figured out earlier that my problem is a Java one. I tried to use another Java applet that I often go to, and it does not show up, either. Anyone know how to fix this?
  11. I am going to join into this conversation and say that I just tried to launch the Holodeck, and then the Starfleet Lounge, and the page loaded, but nothing happened. The gray backround for the Java-applet isn't even there. It looks as if the Java has been taken off the site..... any scheduled maintanance for it that anyone knows of? I just thought that I would throw this message out there. HD
  12. Do you have Java 2 SDK version 1.4.1_01 on your computer? (used to compile .java files into .class, if anyone here gives a hoot about what it does.) If you do, you might have the same problem I had. Try uninstalling J2SDK, and then reinstalling it, making sure to click the button saying "Do Not Bind with my Microsoft Internet Explorer". Computers don't come with J2SDK..... you have to download it from Sun's website, or Tucows, etc. If you are like me, you downloaded it, tried to write Java, and realized it was a lot harder than you thought...... and just left it on your computer, waiting to be used again. :) Also... (I don't really think that this would matter....), but make sure that you have the latest version of whatever browser you use. You might also want to try a different browser than the one you normally use..... just to see if it is in your browser settings, etc. Do you have any Pop-up blocker tools on your computer? If so, it might be blocking the page load of the Holodeck, which is a pop-up, off of the StarTrek.com website. HD
  13. What is it suppose to be?
  14. Perhaps something like an "Elite Force" for the Academy graduates. Perhaps, in some of the Academy sims that are really full of people (both graduates and beginners both), the GM could make a group of only graduates to form an "Elite Force" and leave the ship on another mission, periodically checking back in on the ship. This would also leave the beginners as Acting Chief in whatever department they are in. hehehe - Just my little idea. :)
  15. :: feels like he is the only person who posts in this topic :: How about a "Profiles" Section of the web board? I have noticed that the only way to view peoples profiles is to find a message they have posted, or click on it when they are online. Is there any way to make a section in the web board that you can click on to view everyones Profile in a list? Just wondering...... :) Good 'ol HD
  16. Computer, begin recording personal log. =/\= BEGIN RECORDING =/\= Well, I am almost through my first day aboard Aegis, and I can safely say I may have joined at the wrong time. With Cardassian going up in smoke, and less than 2 weeks to get all of them off, it is going to be quite difficult to complete the evacuations. We have already had problems. Docking area 23 had full power loss, and caused a few minute delay on an arriving Starfleet evacuation ship. The entire area for Docking 23 lost power, and even the doors wouldn't open. I believe that an emergency beam-out had to be made for 5 trapped crewman. Other power problems are being reported. The most noted coming from the Holodecks, where, since they are a non-vital system, have been programmed to stop functioning if other systems need additional power. The transporters are also causing power problems, because they are being used constantly for faster loading of the arriving Federation ships. To my knowledge, this much power has never been used on Aegis at any one time in it's near 2 year history. Luckily, since Engineering is near the bottom of the Aegis pythons, we don't get many visitors. People don't just 'stop in' for a visit, since traveling to it is out of the way of everything. Even the Captain has contacted me, just to make sure we have the available power to handle everything. I believe that the Holodecks, and also uninhabited areas of the ship, will have to be powered down. Dilithium does not come often out to Aegis, but hopefully this will change in the next few days. We definately need more power than what we have, especially if we want the lights to stay on. I'll have to talk to the commander about that, but I believe that it will be a long 2 weeks. I still haven't found out where we are going after the two weeks, but hopefully, I will find out. It is going to be a very long couple of weeks. Computer, end recording. Save file. Password encrypt the file. Close program. =/\= END RECORDING =/\=
  17. Do I get a speech like yours as my response, Lightning? :) Kidding...... I suppose I can add my feelings to it. Of course, as Lightning said, a lot of the Academies are, well, interesting. My personal favorite is when someones console blows up, and a GM writes an " ACTION: So&so's Console did not blow up. We not at war. " I might be the only person who thinks those are funny actions, but, oh well. Anyway, the Academies are fun, and fairly easy to use. It is even better than what I was expecting, my SIMming skills are improving, and all of the GMs with hair are very helpful. :o Just kidding, A9. You are helpful in your youth every time I see you. :P HD (Oh, boy. I am so going to get a nasty PM for this post.....)
  18. Thanks, Webmaster. I think that is all that I wanted..... :o I say 'Feel free to make any changes you want', as long as the change is cool and usable. I like new.... New is good. :) HD
  19. Hello.... what about the Prometheus Class? It is by far the best...... the biggest and baddest Federation made-for-war ship ever made. That is my kind of ship! :)
  20. I was wondering how come even after I hit "Mark this forum's topics as being old", there are still messages in that area unread. Such as: When I read "The "5" in 50211.22", I hit the BACK button and then hit "Mark this forum's topics as being old". After that, the post "The "5" in 50211.22" was marked as 'No New Messages', but "USS Hood in TNG", in the same forum area, was marked as having new messages. Do you have to open the post first before the forum will even try marking it as 'No New Messages"? Also, is there any way to, after I hit "Mark this forum's topics as being old", to have it automatically send me back to the main 'Message Boards' screen? Well, I suppose I have ranted on long enough. I was just curious! :(
  21. In TNG the second number in the stardate was the season number, meaning all season 5 episodes were something like, 45020.4, or something like that. I believe that the first number indicates the century, the second the season (or year perhaps.) One can only assume that the other numbers are meant to be the day and time combined together, but this cannot be for certain. It seems that for almost every ST Television show, the stardates did not go along with each other. Even StarTrek.com states that the stardates are not calculated in any certain way. http://www.lenious.com/stardate2.swf Also, stardates only have one number after the decimal point. I.E. 50211.2 would be ST, but 50211.22 is something unheard of. (At least, from what I can tell. No TNG episode ever started out with Picard saying a Captain's log with more than one number after the decimal point.) However, I do understand why this happens here in the board. (because of the "yymm.dd = Stardate" thing.) Since stardates are used all over the galaxy, by many different species, the numbers could mean almost anything. Especially since we do not know entirely who came up with the Stardate idea. Picard said a few times that stardates were just intergalactic means of time, so that everyone in the Galaxy could be on the same time as everyone else. (or something to that means.) Therefore, the numbers do not have to equal Earth times. They could mean phases of a sun somewhere in a distant sector that some star used to keep time, and decided that everyone could easily tell the time off of it. It could be anything, and we may never find out what it is. Anyway, I have ranted on long enough.
  22. ...and also a belated to the Professor, Mary Ann, Gilligan, and Thurston. An Early birthday wish to Lovee and Ginger. :D Just joking... Happy belated, A9. Hope your special day went well! HD
  23. It's just you. (J/k) No, actually, I can't see it either. It just gives me an "X" in the corner.
