  1. Heh, one of my favorites comes from the episode that has those terrorists trying to steal some type of explosive engineering stuff while the Enterprise is being treated for something, and Picard is the only one aboard. It goes something like this... "Any real horse rider has his own saddle." "Of course." Crusher, Worf This comes after a long discussion about horses, which ends from a quite from Mr. Ed. ;) I love it.
  2. I think it is a good idea, because Euro players should be allowed just as much of a chance to sim with us as anyone else. However, if we got to developing an Academy sim for the European times, we'd also have to develop an entirely new sim for the European simmers. Otherwise, once they graduated the academy, they'd be back to 4am wakeups to sim. I will say that I served on a sim about a year ago that I was a chief on, and one of my favorite assistants was from Europe. He had to wake up at 5am every Tuesday morning. So, it is doable. It just isn't what most people want.
  3. It was Dac's birthday? Oh - of course! Happy [belated] birthday!
  4. I'll be honest, I've always enjoyed Medical. I started out with STSF in engineering, and I did enjoy it (hey, who doesn't like to blow things up?), but when I joined the medical department a few years ago on Manticore, I absolutely loved it. You just get to associate with so many different people when you're in medical, because so many people come in and out of sickbay on a regular basis. I've enjoyed it. Security is also nice because you get to move around the ship all the time, which also allows you to associate with more people. Personally, when I was in Engineering, I felt my geekiness meant I had to stay between my quarters and Main Eng. (Not true, BTW.) Quite honestly, every position I play has its positives and negatives. I enjoy them all (well, except Helm, because I always found it boring).
  5. The origin of the crop circle, eh?
  6. Actually, you'd be surprised... honestly, 80% of the message boards I visit continue to use the default theme (and state that their theme is currently "work in progress"). I see this blue on blue several times daily. :D
  7. My only problem is that I visit a lot of message boards, and when they all just use the default theme, you tend to get tired of it pretty quickly. :D
  8. I remember the academies, and seeing you around the message board.
  9. Sub! Welcome back. I definately remember you from when I was in the Academies. If I recall, you were one of STSF's first graduates? Right behind Kroells and Cochese, perhaps? Eh, it was over two years ago. I know better than to guess I can remember that far back. But, nonetheless, welcome back. :P
  10. I do the same thing with the Aegis page, Travis. Sadly, I read down the list at the same time, and there are a whole lot more people I've never heard of than I had. So, I just figure that two or three years from now, there are going to be people working just who is HD? And they won't bother to ask, since they don't really care. :)
  11. Wasn't me. ::reads:: It was Images. :) Was funny, though, and this only adds to reasons why I enjoy Conan's humor. Granted, I still watch Letterman when given the chance, but I like Conan too...
  12. A happy birthday to Sovak, who has reached the healthy age of 53. Look at it this way: For a Vulcan, 53 is quite young.
  13. ::cough, cough:: My mistake? :)
  14. If I've learned anything from this group of people, I've learned that they are very caring people. I know that the people here on this forum have helped me get through one very difficult time in my life, and I have faith that they will once again come through for a fellow simmer. I had not heard of the accident, but I am deeply saddened by it. I pray that everything turns out well. If you need anything at all, I'll be here. God bless.
  15. Happy birthday, Laura. :)
  16. Woo! Happy birthday, Sketti!
  17. Both of these were great. A remember those theme songs from my NES, which *does* still work. It comes out of the closet every now an again so I can reflect on what good games truly are. :D
  18. I saw the title of this topic, and got all excited that you may have been singing a song from Les Miserable (the musical). You got my hopes all down in the gutter... hehe. Meh, I'll move on.
  19. I haven't seen it, but Hyperdrive has a nice ring to it. The name is definately awesome.
  20. Happy birthday, Lo'Ami. B) Sure, it took us all a while to figure out you were a guy, but we care about you just the same! :P
  21. Heh, I've seen this so much over the Internet. The most remarkable one was in my mySpace Annoucements area, in which one of my good friends from over the summer posted that Mozart's birthday is his third favorite day of the year. I had to laugh a bit. :P I'm a fan of classical music, and my best friend is the greatest piano player I've ever heard, and she knows more than anyone ever cares to hear about a broad range of pianists. Kudos to her (whom I'm greatly missing today due to a big band something-or-another...). Anywho, happy birthday, Mozart!
  22. If they do something rash with Everwood, so help me... they're gonna get some nasty mail from me. Oh, how I heart that show!
  23. Yes, but the wake shouldn't have actually existed. You either go back in time, or you don't, and changes would be made immediately (since the actual changes were taking place years and years in the past). Their idea of getting the Enterprise-E back in time was just a little far-fetched for me. Sure, the idea of the wake plot makes sense, but it doesn't make sense why the wake exists there to begin with.
  24. I was watching too, and also reliving the past. As it turns out, I had a seizure last time I watched FC. This time went a little better. ::nodnod:: Overall, its a good movie. I enjoy it, even though some plot aspects are a little week. Such as, in the beginning, when the reason they weren't affected by the Borg taking over Earth was because they were in the temperal wake. I just find that a little far-fetched, I suppose. That, and the entire "travel back in time to save the planet" gig has been done so many times (and twice in Star Trek movies, and even more in the shows).
  25. A city about 40 miles away from me got a Barnes & Noble, Starbucks included! But if you're talking an authentic sidewalk Starbucks, you've got to go a little over an hour from my house. I don't exactly live in the most happenin' place in the world. hehehe.
