An away team from the USS Caliban has been dispatched to the planet Oridian III to investigate an ancient ruin left behind by a civilization long gone from the sector. Initial scans of the planet have suggested some kind of energy field in the vicinity of the ruin but no further details.
The ruin is located in a deep jungle area of the planet. As we begin, we're just arriving in the area via shuttle.

The shuttle Prospero from the USS Caliban (Miranda-class) has been doing low-altitude sensor sweeps of a planet which is tentatively scheduled for colonization by the Federation. Within the last hour, an enormous storm struck the area which the shuttle was surveying, and a rogue lightning strike caused a short in much of their systems; the shuttle has crashed among dense foliage with no immediate way back out.
Mission is to survive and find a way back off the planet.

Word recently reached the crew of the USS Caliban that the civilian freighter Miral, bound for Starbase 334, has gone off course and seems to have been hijacked; the small freighter is of particular value because it is carrying a large load of weapons-grade dolamide and orders are to retrieve it undamaged if at all possible. The state of the Miral's original crew is not known.
The Prospero has located the Miral several hours from its last known location. Attempts to open dialogue have been responded to with weapons fire and a short skirmish has knocked out their shields; a team from the Caliban (you guys) is gearing up to depart to secure the situation.

The USS Caliban (Miranda-class) has received a comm from Starfleet Command instructing them to investigate Deep Space Station Bahcall, an astrophysics laboratory currently doing stellar research. The station has gone off the grid and has not checked in for three weeks.
The Caliban arrived on the scene and found the station in stellar orbit where it was supposed to be, with one critical problem -- there were no life signs aboard her. Because of radiation concerns for the transporters, a small team has been dispatched via shuttlecraft to investigate the station and try to find out what happened.

The Second Battle of Chin'toka was one of the final battles of the Dominion War and a terrible defeat for the Federation and their allies, who suffered over 300 ships damaged or destroyed. The USS Caliban (Miranda-class), a participant in the battle, has suffered massive ship-wide systems failure and a large saucer hull breach, and is now drifting as the after-battle cleanup begins and the crew tries to lick its wounds.

A team of scientists from the USS Odyssey has been investigating a series of caves on the surface of the planetoid P3X-452, taking data on the local wildlife and doing geological surveys. A period of unexpected geological activity, however, has caused a massive cave-in where the team is working; and they have reported injured such that a beam-out is impractical. A rescue team has been dispatched from the Odyssey to the surface to attempt a retrieval.

The USS Prospero has been dispatched to investigate the loss of communication from the Caliban and render assistance if needed.
