My mother, bless her, bought the 7-disk box set of blu-ray star trek movies. We don't have a blu-ray player yet. We did have Wrath of Khan on plain old dvd though, so that worked out nicely.

He would still have a boat though.

 

Also, I just saw a deer get clotheslined by a sideview mirror. The deer was fine, but the mirror wasn't as lucky

I actually hacked together some rough uniforms for a video project recently. V-neck sweater on top of a black t-shirt for the collar effect, with insignia made of duct tape. Looked far better than I thought it would, that's for sure.

Wow, I've been seeing a lot of birthdays lately. I really don't see what's so romantic about September, it's rather unremarkable as far as months go.

Seeing it for the third time allowed me to divert some of my attention to the theatre around me. This movie has been out for two weeks, and it's still being shown on two screens, with full theatres and lines, which is impressive on it's own. But what struck me most is how diverse the audience was. I saw all sorts; from children who couldn't tell a phaser from a squirt gun, to their parents who grew up on Picard-flavored justice, all the way up to the folk who've been with it since the beginning. It was rather touching.

"FIRE EVERYTHING!" remains my favorite though, both the quote and the scene containing it.

Another thing I'd recommend is reading over chat logs from sims, seeing terms used in context will probably be very helpful.

Memory Alpha is an extremely useful resource. I personally keep it in a tab always when simming, helps patch the gaps that result from all my trek knowledge being mostly secondhand. As far as profiles and timelines go, don't worry about those until you get an advanced sim. And welcome, simm long and prosper.

It seems to me that the confusion over the alternate timelines is that we're using time progression to explain it, saying things like 'this then that'. All the alternate timelines are happening at once, way I see it. It just so happens that certain elements originated in another timeline.

Well, here I am. Stumbled across here looking for various star trek things, and figured I'd give it a whirl. It's a hell of a lot faster paced then what I'm used to as far as rp goes, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. And to avoid confusion I'll be using the handle of Drake Monk in the chat rooms, it's a bit more serious then my standard moniker. Live long and prosper, and all that jazz.
