  1. I am wondering what good it does to list all the names here in the forums. You know they will be back under a new name. I for one would like to permanently block all PM messages if that is possible. That way none of them can spam me.
  2. Is there a way I can block all PMs? I'm getting really tired of all these spam PMs.
  3. Same here. This is really getting annoying.
  4. Same here.
  5. You can add TrekkieGirl to the list. Sent me a PM today with a link to coloholics.com or some such nonsense. Let me know if I should forward the PM to someone. Thanks.
  6. Hannah sat at the comm station chewing on her fingernails with worry. She had been trying to hail Aegis for several hours but with no success. Asgar and several other colonists sat around the comm station with Hannah, their faces reflecting her worry. Something was going on with Aegis. Over the last couple of hours the colonist's sensors in orbit around TKR-117 had detected faint blips of what appeared to be multiple ships around Aegis. Colony sensors were not long range nor were they the caliber of Aegis sensors, but they did pick up something. A long range sensor system was on the colony's wishlist of things to eventually have. Still, what their sensors had detected was enough to worry them. The latest scans revealed that several explosions had taken place. That combined with the lack of response to hails had set the colony to worrying about all kinds of possibilities. Luckily, the latest scans also did not detect any more ships near Aegis or near the colony. Hannah had half a mind to jump in the shuttle and high tail it to Aegis to see what was going on. If only they would answer damn it!! She would give it one more hour. If they hadn't heard from Aegis by then, she would send a subspace message to earth and then take the shuttle to Aegis and find out what had happened. If Aegis was destroyed, she would then send an emergency transmission to Starfleet to let them know what had happened and to request removal from TKR-117. If Aegis couldn't withstand whatever had happened, there was no way the colony could and they were in danger. Yes, that's what she would do. One more hour and then...........
  7. From: Dr. Hannah McDowell To: Brian McDowell Fiona McDowell Re: Hello from Alastair 1 Hello my dear children, I was very proud to hear Brian that you've passed your first year Starfleet Academy exams!! Imagine me givin you a very big hug and my face is shinin with love and pride. It seems like only yesterday I was takin you both to your first day of school at Downing. I am so proud of you both! Life has been very busy since last I wrote to you. First, everyone here sends their love. They miss you almost as much as I do. Donald (Asgar) was wonderin if you could drop by his sister's house sometime and check on his dogs. He suspects she is over feedin them and worries that they might grow fat. I suspect he's just a worry wart. :-) We arrived at the colony site on schedule with no problems. With the help of the federation engineers, we then got the colony all setup rather quickly and now things are runnin as smoothly as we can hope for. As with all new colonies there are adjustments to be made by all. Oscar complains about TooRam's snorin and TooRam insists he doesn't snore as he has nothing in his throat to cause snorin. We've found some interestin things here on Alastair. Oh, I forgot to mention they all voted to name the planet after your father. I was very touched and I'm sure your father would have been too. Anyways, we have found some odd things here and we're makin preparations to dig. We'll be workin with the Sky Harbor Aegis science team to figure out what we've found and how best to dig. I can't say anymore than that right now but will let you know more as I'm able. I've attached a picture of everyone here with the colony in the background. See the fountain Fiona? They put that up for you. Please ignore Mary stickin her tongue out, however, I swear that girl will never grow up! LOL Well that's all for now my loves. I miss you both terribly and hope you can come visit as soon as the colony can have visitors. Be safe, be happy, and know that I love you. Much love, Mom
  8. The initial scans and photos of the site were inconclusive. They would have to start excavating the site to get more data. Hannah was not surprised nor discouraged. If the artifact was there, it had been there for an extremely long time and could be buried deep. She did, however, miss the Sentinel's sensors. They could have looked deeper and farther then the equipment the settlement had. They had been recalled back to earth so it was just the colonists now. Hannah had considered asking Aegis to assist but only if necessary. “Well as you know there are 5 elements that sensors will normally not detect unless you adjust the parameters of the scan.” Dr. Asgar was saying as he started his briefing to Hannah that morning. “Aye I do. Jakmanite, invidium, saltzgadum, selgninaem and lucovexitrin.” Hannah replied promptly. Nodding gravely, Dr. Asgar continued. “Well I added the parameters to our sensors before we left earth. I wanted the sensors to be able to detect as much ::coughcough:: as possible. Hannah.... the sensors picked up Jakmanite.” “Damn it! Why didn't we know this before?” Hannah swore, already knowing the answer. Dr. Asgar could only shrug his shoulders. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself. “Ok, so we have jakmanite. Is it affectin the equipment yet?” Asgar nodded. “But only slightly because the amount is so small. Otherwise our equipment would be mush by now. However, I believe we can neutralize the effects by exposing everything to -200 degrees for a few seconds. The equipment can handle it but it will render the jakmanite inert. Then we can put up a shield around the complex to block the jakmanite radiation.” He finished confidently. Hannah nodded. “Very well, let's begin right away ::cough::. We can't afford ta lose any equipment.” “There's one more thing Hannah.” Asgar continued hesitantly. “The jakmanite is having a very strange effect on all the surrounding metals and rock and such. It's causing the release of an unknown component into the air. I don't know yet what it is or if it's harmful. I believe it's a radiation of some type but like I said, I don't know if it's harmful to us or not. None of the survey missions picked it up because their sensors weren't calibrated to detect jakmanite. It's stongest over the site.” He finished grimly. “Very well. Let's get everyone together. We need a plan. Oh and by the by, did the sensors pick up any neutronium?” Hannah asked. "Inconclusive Hannah. Sorry. We'll know more once we start digging." Asgar replied. Hannah was so preoccupied with this setback that she hadn't noticed that Asgar was a bit pale. In fact, the whole team was looking a bit pale. Those that had noticed put it down to fatigue and being worn down after their long voyage and they recommended a good night's sleep. Those that hadn't noticed, would be noticing very soon.
  9. From: Dr. Hannah McDowell To: Ambassador Joy, Sky Harbor Aegis Re: Arrived safely Dear Ambassador Joy, Just wanted ta send you a quick note lettin ya know we arrived safely to Alastair I. Alastair I is the name everyone voted on which touched me deeply, it bein my late husband's christian name. So far, everything is goin fine and we're about halfway through with gettin the buildings up and such. Alastair I is a bit of an odd little planet but I'm sure we'll settle in just fine. Also I'll be briefin the team tonite after dinner about what I suspect lays beneath the dirt of Alastair I. I know it might come as a shock to some but in the end, I'm sure they will be as excited as I am. I do feel bad about not tellin them before but this was too important. Here's hopin they understand. We should know in the next few weeks if my suspicions are correct. I remember my promise to let you know the minute we know something. I won't forget. Hopin this letter finds you well and happy. Warm regards, Hannah
  10. The transport ship Kalisko and the freighter Ticonderoga II were in orbit around the planet Alastair I (the name unanimously voted on by everyone in memory of Hannah's husband), under the watchful gaze of Captain Milton and crew onboard the USS Sentinel. Between the shuttles and transporters, they were making good time offloading the colonist's supplies to the surface. The weather had held as well so Hannah considered this a very good omen for the colonists. The communications systems was up and running (hopefully) and Hannah had just sent a quick letter to Ambassador Joy on Sky Harbor Aegis. She wanted to let her know they had arrived and that all was well so far. Hannah regretted not being to meet with Ambassador Drankum while she had been on Aegis but she supposed he was a busy station commander and had other things to do. The area they had chosen was perfect for their needs. It was close to a water source and to the area that Hannah was especially interested in. Hannah was going to brief the rest of the team that evening about what she suspected lay in that area. Once they heard about what she suspected, she hoped they would be as excited as she was. The settlement area also had large cliffs surrounding it which would help protect them against strong winds during the stormy season. Dr. Macintyre was completing her final adjustments on the equipment that would monitor the weather and atmosphere around the planet. Hannah could hear her talking with the Sentinel as the last weather bouy was placed in the atmosphere. The Starfleet engineers that had accompanied the colonists were half way done constructing the prefabricated living quarters and they estimated the greenhouse would be up by noon the next day. Dr. Thomas, botanist extraordinaire, and his two assistants could then start planting the garden that would eventually supplement their food supplies. Hannah was especially keen on getting the coffee beans planted. The water and sanitation system was already up and running and Dr. TooRam was halfway through running in depth tests on the water to ensure it's safety for the colonists. They had decided on placing a small fountain in the middle of the compound with benches and plants and trees around it so that it could be a social gathering area for everyone. Running water always seems to have a calming effect on people. It was going to be very nice once it was completed. The USS Sentinel was busy setting up other equipment in the atmosphere that included a communications bouy, defense warning systems, weather bouys, and a few other things that would help keep the colonists safe and in contact with earth and Sky Harbor Aegis. Everything was going according to plan so far.
  11. From: Captain James Milton, USS Sentinel To: Commanding Officer, Sky Harbor Aegis Re: Colonists and Shipyard Supplies Aegis, The USS Sentinel, along with the transport ship Kalisko and freighter cargo drone Ticonderoga II, will be in the area in 3 days. I am currently escorting Dr. McDowell and her team of colonists to the TKR-117 system to colonize the class M planet in the northeast quadrant. I have attached all appropriate paperwork, permits, and requests concerning Dr. Hannah McDowell and her team who will be colonizing the planet in the TKR-117 system. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the colonists, please have the appropriate personnel contact Dr. McDowell for further clarification and/or information. We also have supplies for Sky Harbor Aegis which will need to be offloaded to the station once we arrive. Our estimated time of arrival is approximately 4 days. We will need to coordinate the positioning of the cargo drone and the offloading of it's cargo. Your cargo is located in the aft compartment of the drone and the colonist's cargo is in the fore. I would also like to request a few days of leave for everyone before we head to TKR-117 and drop off the colonists if that would agreeable. There are approximately 125 people total that would be visiting the station but I will set up a time table so that they only come in groups of 25 -40 or so. Please let me know what your requirements would be and I can adjust accordingly. Respectfully, James Milton, Captain
  12. Hannah sat at a small table in the mess hall drinkin coffee and eatin a muffin. She and her team were onboard the transport ship Kalisko. The Kalisko and the freighter cargo drone Ticonderoga II were bein escorted by the USS Sentinel to the TKR-117 system. It was very early in the mornin and no one else was there yet. She was reviewin her notes on the TKR-117 system, specifically the class M planet in the northeast quadrant of the area. This planet had been of extreme interest to Hannah for the last two years. She was convinced there were special artifacts on this class M planet and was determined to find them. If her suspicions were correct, this would be a huge find for her team and for the UFP. Aye... a huge find indeed. Hannah glanced down her notes agin, carefully mullin over all her carefully written notes and conclusions she had been workin on for the last two years. Her attention turned to a message she was draftin for Sky Harbor Aegis. In this message Hannah introduced herself and her team and explained their mission to TKR-117. At least she explained the mission as much as she could. She didna want any word leakin out about what she suspected lay beneath the dirt on that class M planet. Hannah had also attached all the proper paperwork, permits, medical records, and the dozens of other documents required that would allow the colonists to set up shop on the class M planet. She only hoped that Aegis would mind their own bloody business and leave the colonists to their work. After readin the latest news regardin Sky Harbor Aegis, Hannah didna want anythin to do with all that political garbage. She sighed and forwarded the message to the Kalisko's comm officer for transmission. It should only be a few minutes before Aegis received it. Lastly, she finished a message to both her kids. "My dearest ones. As I head to TKR-117 my thoughts are of you and I wish that you could be with me. It may be several years before we see each other agin but I promise we shall all keep in constant contact with each other. Never you mind the distance that separates us, for we shall be close together in our hearts always. As your father's birthday draws near, I am once agin overcome with how proud I am of you both and how proud I know he is as well even tho he's no longer with us. Chin up my darlins, I'll be seein ya both agin before you know it. Once we get to TKR-117, I'll be sendin another letter and perhaps some pictures as well. Stay well and safe my dears. Love as always, Mum"
