About Akoval th'Aniri

  1. New

NEW Begin Log... One Year Ago- USS Maelstrom The chime sounded. Chief Petty Officer Akoval th'Aniri looked up from the hardback he had delved into. The slightly woody smell of weathered paper tinted the air. The lighting was attuned for prime Andorian reading comfort. A cup of thick mint tea steamed on the desk he occupied in his quarters and added hints of sweet to the atmosphere. That atmosphere, for the moment, was completely care free. "Yeah...?" The slightest bit of agitation crept into his voice. The hatch swished open and Petty Officer Kelly Marris stuck her head through. "Hey Chief, Commander Richtoffen wants you for a sec, in her office." Akoval sighed and stood from behind his desk after he marked his place in the book with the corner of a near by padd. He rubbed the bridge of his nose letting his frustration melt away into that place of blank one could push himself into. "Yeah, thanks Marris. Tell the Commander I'll be right there." th'Aniri pushed the chime to his commander's office. The hatch opened and allowed him entrance immediately. He found himself face to face with Commander Richtoffen, who sat attentively behind her century aged oaken desk. He crossed the carpeted space into her office and came to attention. "Ma'am, Chief th'Aniri reporting as ordered, ma'am." This time he checked the agitation from his voice. A smile spread it's way over her un-characteristically rosy cheeks. "At ease Chief. Thanks for dropping by. I know it's late but I think you'll be glad I called you in here." Suspicion caused his antennae to droop slightly inward and his brow to crease. "Ma'am?" Richtoffen tossed him a padd. He caught it and thumbed it on. He quickly read it over and looked up. "You that ready to get rid of me ma'am?" The Commander's smile turned out to be infectious. "You've got the college education th'Aniri. I know you turned it down when you enlisted but OCS is the next step you need to take. You've made a great NCO but Starfleet needs great officers just as well. Beisdes, Petty Officer Marris has had her eye on your job since you were promoted six months ago." Akoval's smile turned into a grin as he let out a soft grunt. "Ain't that the truth, ma'am." He paused a moment thinking the choice over then placed his thumbprint on the padd's scanner. Why not? What the hell. A beep of acknowledgment sounded shortly there-after. "When do I leave, ma'am?" Richtoffen stood from her leather backed swivel chair and offered a hand to shake. "Next week when the Saratoga rendezvous for re-supply. She'll be your ticket back to Earth." Akoval switched his orders to left hand and shook his commander's with his right. "Congratulations Chief." ................................................... Present Day- USS John Snow The chime sounded. Newly minted Ensign Akoval th'Aniri looked up from the hardcover he had delved into during his short hop aboard the medical vessel USS John Snow. The guest quarters he occupied were located on deck two just below the ship's bridge. The main transporter room was also located down the corridor. "Enter." A tellerite junior grade lieutenant stepped through as the hatch swished open. "Ensign th'Aniri, we are twenty minutes out from the Obi system. You'll be beaming to the Challenger soon. The captain asked that you join us on bridge for our final approach." Akoval swung himself up and off the felt-like coach he had been reclining on. His uniform blouse lay unfastened across his lap. He shrugged it on quickly and snapped his book closed. Inwardly he enjoyed the cold metallic feel of his ensign insignia as he fastened his blood colored blouse closed along his hunter green shoulder strap. "It was good to have you aboard th'Aniri. I hope everything works out for you on Challenger. Lucky duck. I wouldn't mind a posting on an Excelsior class. The extra room would be great." A smile from ear to wrinkled ear spread across the tellerite's face. At least Akoval interpreted it as a smile. It could have just as easily been a frown. He ran with the assumption and smiled warmly back. "Tell me about it. I was on the Maelstrom for five years. Talk about squished." He slung his duffel over his shoulder and slipped his book into an unzipped side pocket. It was time to step into something different. It felt good. Very good. He hoped the situation on Obi V would be resolved quickly. Settleling in tended to be a lot easier when genocidal viruses were not involved. He stepped out from the known of his guest quarters and into the unknown of the passageway beyond. Without a second thought he walked into whatever it was life had in store for him on board the Challenger. ...End Log. Ensign Akoval th'Aniri Chief Security Officer USS Challenger NCC:2457
  2. Akoval th'Aniri, Ensign Chief Security Officer, USS Challenger NCC:2457 Species: Andorian Gender: Thave Age: 29 Height: 5'8 Weight: 180 lbs. Eye Color: Blue Hair Color: White Place of Birth: Andor Background th'Aniri has served in Starfleet Security since his graduation from Andor's University of Theel'zhiin at age 23. He refused a spot at Officer Candidate School and opted to enlist instead as a ship's security specialist. He was assigned to the USS Maelstrom. As he held a college education upon graduation of Basic Training he was promoted to Crewman (E-3). After graduation from the Fleet Security School he was promoted once more to Petty Officer Third Class (E-4). Over the course of the next six years he was promoted three more times to the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E-7) and to the billet of Department Chief. Six months into his promotion to Department Chief he received a second invitation to Officer Candidate School. This invitation he accepted. After graduation of OCS, the six month long Officer Basic School, and Fleet Security Officer School, he was promoted to Ensign (O-1) and assigned as Chief Security Officer to the USS Challenger. Andorian Phychology/Physiology The Andorian race is blue skinned, white haired, and wired on a short fuse. Andorian tempers are noted to be short and prone to unexpected outbursts. They are quick to judge, hold a grudge, and find themselves aggrivated. Andorians on the "positive" side remain loyal to the causes they dedicate themselves too. Personal debts are not enjoyed by the species as a whole and most will go to great lengths to pay back a favor. This creates a sense of loyalty among the species' members that is difficult to surpass. Personal Efficiency reports indicate th'Aniri is typical of the Andorian species. He is dedicated and hard working but struggles to keep his temper in check. Former commanding officers have described th'Aniri as "over achieving" and "an excellent Non-Commissioned Officer." His second invitation to Officer Candidate School was sponsored by Lieutenant Commander Stephenie Richtoffen his former USS Maelstrom's Department Commander. This action was seconded by Captain Marcus Lobowski, Commanding Officer, USS Maelstrom. th'Aniri's Officer Candidate School's instructors passed him at the the top of his class, describing him as "bright" and "more than able."
