Hi everyone. I'm not totally sure that this is the place for this but I thought I would post it anyway since I've been lurking around the academy again for the last week or so,having reappeared after my five year absence, and I am excited about getting involved with this community again. :) Anyway, I guess I just wanted to say hello again to the people I know and hello to those I don't. see y'all in space :) ~Kara

I dont know how many of you are familiar with MUDs, MUSHes, etc, but there is a great MUSH for battlestar Galactica out there. go to www.withoutaclue.com/bsm2 and check it out. I doesnt cost anything to play and you dont have to download anything (although I'd suggest downloading a MUD client because it makes things much easier. You can find one at www.mudconnect.com under resources.). I think any fan of BSG would love this MUSH so come check it out.

The war game has begun. The game comenced with a race to get the two ships out of stardock from a cold start, which the San Fransisco won. Kara spent most of the time in the security office, not quite sure what to do as a chief of security. but determined to suceed none the less. As both ships left for their next task, in sector 223, the Excalibur to a lead as Lt. Cmdr. Deveraux wisely decided to hold back in case there was a trap to be sprung. Now, both ships sit at the edge of an asteroid field which must be navigated. Security has not had much action as of yet but Kara hasn't let that stop her from making sure everything is ready at the first sign of trouble. Armed patrols walk the corridors, ready for any disturbance, while security systems are finely tuned to detect any anomoly aboard the ship. Kara is determined not to do anything wrong on her first time as a chief.

After their actions which exposed the plot to frame Admiral Day and Captain Jcin, the crew of the USS Excalibur was given two weeks of shore leave. Kara decided to spend hers off shore, in space (suprise, suprise). She first to a shuttle to the USS Colorado and spent 5 days aboard with her family, including a picnic on the holodeck and an intense shuttle race with her father. Afterwards, she took a shuttle to the remains of the system (taking five days round trip) that was destroyed by the Federation traitors, wishing to pay her last respects to those who died. She returned to the Colorado for a day before heading back to Sol system to meet up with the Excalibur and her crew as shore leave comes to an end. She is currently on Earth, getting ready to head back up to the ship and away to their next mission. Back into the final frontier.

If you want to do ranks then why not show the person's actual STSF rank. Cadet if they haven't graduated. regular ranks if they're on a ship. Just a thought

Welcome aboard

Kara returned from the emergency leave she had taken to attend the ceremony of her father's promotion and command of USS Colorado, meeting the USS Excalibur on its route to Earth. When she got on board, she realized quickly that something big had happened. Soon she found out what it was, the destruction of the system where the science station was being constructed. The Excalibur arrives at Earth and is totally locked down. Kara and Ens. Graham go to work checking through all the logs of the scientists movements, by order of Commander Neo. They dug through files for a while, narrowing the list down to a few highly possible suspects. They are currently following up on a scientist who spent a strangely large amount of time running unknown programs on the holodeck during the later hours of the night.

Just letting everyone know that I'll be won't be simming for the next week due to Christmas holidays. See ya'll Friday or Saturday(Jan. 2-3, not this friday and saturday)Merry Christmas, Hannaka(sp?), Kwanza(sp?), or whatever else you celebrate this time of year. ;)

Kara arrived aboard the USS Excalibur just in time for the Christmas party. She was a bit nervous being at a party where she didn't know anyone, but hung around for most of it. Kara made friends with one of her fellow security officers, ens. Trichion, and also met her new chief. "Santa" somehow knew that she loved 20th century science fiction and left her a datadisk full of technology schematics for many of her favorite stories. Overall, it was a pretty good first day. Tomarrow its back to work though and she'll get to see what the ship is like during normal operation.

Name: Kara Midanyl Race: Human Age: 21 Gender: Female POB: USS Colorado* Rank: Ensign Physical appearance: Medium-length black hair, Green eyes. Somewhat attractive. Bio: Kara is the daughter of William and Rachel Midanyl. She was born and raised aboard the USS Colorado, where her father served as chief of security(and later XO) and her mother as Chief Medical Officer. When she turned 18, Kara joined Starfleet offically and entered the Academy. Having always liked her father's work more than her mother's, it was not suprise that she majored in Security/tactics. While there she also was a member of the famed Red squadron. She graduated with honors and has been assigned to the USS Excalibur as an ASEC. Kara is no stranger to life in space as thats where she spent most of her's. She enjoys security and tactical jobs more than the scientific fields and is a decent pilot from her work with Red Squadron. She hopes to follow in her father's footsteps and become XO of a starship.

I thought it rocked. The only thing I disliked about it was that it was only two parts long. I would love to see this become a regular series. I never seen the original series (had to check the internet to see what the whole starbuck problem was, I understand now) but the miniseries(too mini in my opinion) was awesome.
