About John McGee

  1. My Dear Sweet Johnny, I trust you are finding your return to Challenger is still great posting. I don't know why Star Fleet keeps the assignment I got so secret, but I guess if people knew you were going to be in Personnel, the vacuum of space wouldn't compare to how people would treat you! I'm loving this job in Personnel, reviewing appeal requests. Guess I got it, seeing as I'll be going on a deep space mission soon, and that's why I got this posting. This way nepotism doesn't rear it's ugly head! It was wonderful going to dinner with you while you were here during your recent training here on Earth, and relating how much you liked getting into fighters and how much like and un-like it is to your Citabria. I hope you recall our discussion about your previous time in grade as a Lt. Jg. would be handled, if and when you earn it back. I think it will be! Remember, it is not something written, so a formal appeal does not apply. It is traditional for an officer who had been demoted for an oversight such as his not reporting on time to be have his time in grade be bridged together, depending on how his First Officer felt about it, especially if he took on some significant development training. I'm glad you took it to heart. Besides your training to fly fighters, undertaking a course in Tactical officer training should be quite impressive. And you did quite well in it, too! I don't know what you're XO is doing with you, but you're really maturing into a fine officer. I can tell that your Navigation officer, a Ms. Reed I believe, was responsible for some of this motivation. I think your days of barnstorming from one relationship to another are over! I'll probably be out of range when you get this. Our mission is to the Beta quadrant on a five year mission to explore those new worlds and cultures we come across. While I truly felt something special exists between us, don't stop your relationship with Ms. Reed for me. The reality is I may never come back. I know you can find true happiness with her, in whatever form your relationship with her becomes. Yours in Service, Shawna Warren Lt., Psychologist
  2. No, no, no. You didn't do anything wrong. I just wanted to know which place you were headed so I could get some really freshly made ones!
  3. ::Sitting in his quarters after having supper with Abe Kas and H.G. Reed in the mess hall.:: Computer, open personal log, John McGee. "Hannah Grace Reed, the only thing more beautiful than your legs is that wonderful accent of yours. Ah, jolly good English, the way you would say "Manoeuvring" instead of maneuvering. It makes me long for some real flying, and how long it's been since I've been able to take my Citabria out for some aerobatics." "I didn't want to ruin our first time together by seeming too forward at the end of our supper together. At least Abe didn't stick around too long. Something about the Cepheus and her warp drive failing again. I thought it was fixed so that they could maintain warp 3 on their own, but he was called away when the Challenger had to tractor her along." ::John lays down on his bunk, looking at his pictures hanging on the wall of his Citabria.:: "Computer, end personal log." After looking at it for a few minutes, thinking about his time with Hannah, he moves over to his desk and starts up his terminal. Typing a message out, it begins "Dear Hannah, thank you for a wonderful time last night. I was wondering if you'd be interested in an old fashioned antique airplane ride with an old fashioned pilot some day….."
  4. John McGee was amazed at the definition he could get in his navigational scans. Excelsior class ships were by far the latest in technology. He’d spent his first few days getting familiar with them, and now, he’d found something that shouldn’t be there. Most comets and other orbital bodies that existed around a sun were basic elements, with only a few elements and basic compounds in any abundance. But what showed up on his screens called for immediate referral to science for further analysis, The navigational computers identified it as a non-sentient life form of some sort. He turned in his helm chair, and called out “Commander Ba’aylo, sir. You need to see this.” John McGee, Ensign Helm Officer, USS Challenger NCC2457
  5. FROM: STARFLEET PERSONNEL TO: Captain Rolf Seiban RE: Helm Officer Assignment The following personnel has been assigned to the USS Challenger to fill your open position stated above. >>>Open File<<< STARFLEET PERSONNEL FILE Name: McGee, John Gender: Male Race: Human Age: 28 Height: 5ft 11in Weight: 185 lbs Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue Place of Birth: Earth: Santa Paula, California Marital Status: Single, never married. Starfleet Service Record: Service Identification: 3-PID-096-QD-042 Current rank: Ensign Previous Assignment: Helm Officer, Constitution class USS Merrimac, NCC-1715. (Decommissioned 2292) Personnel Disciplinary Record: This officer was reduced in rank from Lieutenant Junior Grade for failing to report for duty on time and for undertaking restricted activities. Said officer felt that restricted or not, quoting his testimony at his hearing, ".. it was appropriate for a Helm Officer to teach himself what Star Fleet wouldn't: How to really fly!" Security officers arrested him while he was conducting "Barn-Storming" flights to pay for fuel in his personal aircraft, a 20th century flying machine. The Personnel Board found that Ensign McGee should be sent, with his aircraft, to the one ship in the fleet who's Chief Engineer, Lt. Commander Cyiv, whom had previously been an instructor to Mr. McGee at the academy and apparently the only Star Fleet officer to positively endorse this officer, for further instruction.
