  1. “Nerves”…Kroells’s logs (Log 41)

“Computer, deck six.”  The turbo lift slowly hummed to life and left its resting place on deck nineteen.  Inside of the turbo lift was Travis Kroells.  He stood silent, listening to the whoosh sound that the life made every time it went up an other deck.  The sound was calming, and at the same time annoying.

The annoying part of the sound some how reminded him of Brian Smith.  The young and talented doctor may have very well saved Travis’s life in the last hour, but that didn’t stop Travis from disliking him.  And commander Ridire as well.  For some reason the both of them had been on his nerves for the last few days, he couldn’t explain why but they just did.

“Smith to lieutenant Kroells.”  Travis looked down to the Brian’s voice coming out of his commbadge.  He sighed and then openly cursed the fact that the doctor either couldn’t leave him alone, or didn’t trust him to go to his quarters.

“Kroells here.”  Travis couldn’t put a reason together as to why he didn’t just turn the commbadge off and go to sleep, but if he did this Smith might get worried and send a security team off to make sure he was where he was supposed to be.

“Mr. Kroells, for good conduct I'll let you go to the Bridge as long as you’re in bed at 2100. So you have about 30 minutes on the bridge.”

“Understood.”  Travis instantly cut off the conversation.  He didn’t want to hear any of Brian’s stipulations or regulations, he just wanted to get to the bridge and talk to the captain.  He quickly halted the turbo lift and sent it speeding to the bridge, just an other six decks away from his quarters.

Three more whoosh sounds went by signaling that he was on deck three.  Travis slowly looked down to his uniform and noticed the blood stains still present.  He cursed and was about to send the TL back to his quarters where he could change but the doors whooshed open and forced him to walk onto the bridge in the status that he was in.  He silently walked off the TL, its doors instantly closing to travel to some place on the ship to pick up more crew members.

No one had yet to notice him, so he stood there.  Staring at the view screen, and basically the whole front of the bridge in general contemplating his next move.

  2. Has anyone noticed that the winner here just needs a lead, not a statistically significant lead?

Had this been a random poll (which it isn't), the margin of error for it predicting anything about how the whole STSF would vote would have been somewhere around 16% (1/sqrt(38)), or 6 votes.  Since it's a self-selected sample, the error is actually probably quite a bit higher.

So, in some way, Moose and Fred actually tied in this round, and I'm almost willing to bet that all of these polls will have similar outcomes.

hey check out fight two.  Blu Rox is killing A9 at this point.

  3. yes, but only 38 cared to vote, it's like the national average for voting turn outs.  So figure that if the rest of the fleet bothered to vote it would have been about 110 Moose, 90 Fred, so dont think of it as 20 people liking moose more, think of it as 110.

Take the 2000 elections.  A TON of people didnt vote, but when we got into the florida fiasco (yea, old people cant vote for a crap)  Every one, well almost every one took sides.  So I'd have liked to believe that if there had been a tie fred, there would probally a gaint thread debate over who should have won.

  4. Hey there,

Yes, yes....and where did most of these souls come from? Ah, but the most popular sim in the fleet....even though rigged vote counts here try to say otherwise...   :(

hey!  I voted for you and so did 18 others!  If more then half teh fleet hates you thats not my problem!

  5. POLLS ARE NOW CLOSED!  REASULTS:  With a narrow victory captain Moose wins and moves on to round two where he will eventually take on the winner of our next battle....A9vs. Blu Rox!

As for our err...loser, Fred a weeks worth of taunting and simpathy cards!

This has been your host, Travis Kroells, STSF's Most notorious member.

  6. believe me when i say this, GM's not only have Q powers, they like to abuse them.  A few months back I was doing an academy sim for fun, me and my away team when to the surface of the planet where i was instanly killed by a tribe of midget warriors...sad, and yet funny stuff  :(
