    Background:

Aroya was born in the Earth Calendar year 2368, the year before the Cardassian retreat from the Bajoran sector and Terok Nor. His mother and father were prominent members of the Resistance, but stayed disguised as owners of a small store in Jalanda City. When the Provisional Government was formed, his father Antos was chosen as a representive for his district.

Though the Occupation was over, little Aroya was no stranger to conflict, as the Dominion War was fought pretty much right on his family's doorstep. During the war, his mother helped Starfleet and Federation citizens stranded on Bajor, and it was through the people he met that he learned about the UFP, and Starfleet.

Ever since, he worked his hardest to eventually be accepted into Starfleet Academy, and he was. He found his passion in Medicine, and once he graduated the Academy, went straight into the Medical Academy for another four years, and studied many subjects, finally choosing to major in General Practice and Surgery, with a minor in C0unseling.

Out of Medical Academy, he was assigned to the USS Okinawa-B, where he was promoted to the rank of Lt. J.G. A few months after his promotion, the Soltan attack on Earth occured, and the Okinawa-B was recalled to Sector 001 to assist with reconstruction and security.

With almost all of the current roster of cadets at San Francisco killed, and the Fleet's supply of starships and seasoned officers low, Aroya was temporarily assigned to the North American Medical Unit corps, and then assigned the Chief Medical Officer's position on the USS Agincourt.

    Family Background:

The Kara family on Bajor have become very entrenched in their community in Jalanda City. Antos continues as a representative to the current Bajoran government. Luson has grown the family's store into a prosperous grocery business, and plays with the city orchestra.

Aroya has three younger sisters. The oldest, Lysa, is currently in monestary, preparing to become a mylar(priest). Celes has recently finished a major in art and culture at the Bajoran University, and is engaged to be wed. Aria, the youngest, is in 14th level classes in a city school, and is known to be rambunctious at times.
