  1. John was still on the bridge when the night shift came on. He was finishing up his report for the captain on what happened on Arcady Prime and all of his hypothesis on what happened and how it did happen. He had been there ever since he got back from the away mission working non-stop. He was starting to nod off but managed to finish his report off. He went to the Captain's Ready Room ready to turn it in but noticed he wasn't there. Then it hit him it was already 0200 hours. The captain was probably already asleep. So he left the padd on his desk knowing he would read it in the morning. He then headed off to his quarters. He would get the chance now to see his brand new quarters. He rode on down the turbolift. The sleep was already starting to overcome him, he nearly fell over in the lift. The lift stopped on his deck. He walked out and headed off to his quarters trying to keep his composure as to not appear as though he was drunk. He arrived at a door and checked to see if it was his quarters. "Yup this is it." He walked in and looked about. The Yeoman who greeted him when he arrived on the Arcadia had left all his bags by the doors. He decided it would be best if he left his things there and unpack in the morning. He walked over to his bed, still in his uniform and plopped right down in the bed and was out like a light. He found himself in the middle of a huge field. He was looking about but it didn't seem as though anything was in sight. He thought this was weird and decided to see if he could find anyone. He walked for what felt like hours upon hours until he stumbled off the side of small cliff. He fell right into a pond, luckily it wasn't a long fall it was about 10 ft, the water he landed in was pretty shallow. He looked about and starting shouting. "Hello!! Is anyone here!" All he got was the echo of his voice. But to his dismay a large alligator had floated up and was about 20 feet away from him. It caught him off guard when he swam on over to him. He panicked and decided to run out of the pond. But he wasn't quick enough, the alligator was about 15 long, it managed to grab him by the foot. He fell over and the alligator prepared to make it's finishing strike, it lunged right at him, but it was almost as though some super power had come to him. He managed to grab the alligator as it flew right towards his neck. He managed to hold it back while holding it's mouth open. He then threw it across the pond. He thought he was saved. But the alligator was coming at him once again as though he was to be his dinner. He tried to crawl out from the crevice he fell into but he couldn't, the creature was only a few feet away. It was over, he was dead meat, the alligator lunged at him again. This time he wouldn't be able to stop it. He screamed at the top of his voice, perhaps someone would hear and come to at least save his carcass from being completely eaten. He screamed and screamed but it was too late. He woke up still screaming. But he noticed he was still in his quarters. He wiped the sweat off his forehead, and looked around. "What the heck was that about?" he thought to himself. He looked about and noticed that his entire bed was a mess. He must have been tossing and turning during the entire dream. He didn't know what the dream had all been about, but all he knew was that he wasn't going back to sleep. "Computer. What is the time?" he asked. "The time is 0700 hours" It said in it's monotonous tone. He had managed to get a few hours worth of sleep but he wasn't due in for his shift for another 3 hours. He sat down at his little dinner table and had himself a big breakfast. Eggs, bacon, the whole nine yards. He then unpacked all of his items, and then took a quick shower. He still had a few hours left to kill. He decided to head off to 10-Forward for a bit and perhaps mingle with some people to see if it would help shake off the extremely weird nightmare that he had. "I'm sure a drink or two won't hurt. It would probably help."
  2. John was quietly standing behind Lt. Cdr. LoAmi listening to him parley with who he thought was the leader of the cell that they had captured. He listened to the disputes that were going back and forward between the two and even amongst the rebels. He was starting to think that the rebels were simply doing this because they wanted to be free. It is a natural right that every being has from the moment that they are born to be free. Undoubtedly he understood why they were rebelling against there slave masters. They wanted the taste of freedom and equality. The probe crashing on to the planet provided a catalyst for the advancement of any rebel action. John didn't doubt that even before they coming of the Arcadia crew that an underground network which they were going to use against there captors. The probe just gave them the ways and means to do it. He understood that the one thing that were afraid of was this Queen of their's that ruled over all with an apparent iron grip. It reminded him of Ancient Earth during the Medieval times leading up to the American Revolution and even during the several revolutions that followed. Kings & Queens were feared by the lesser people, but they were not god's, they were people just like them. And this was proven when the people grew tired of there rulers and rebelled against them for a change. It was the very people which these rulers watched over that led to many of their downfalls. It was also the people that dictated there own rulers at times. This was evident with declarations such as the Magna Carter, or even the United States Constitution. In which the people's leaders had to respond to there constituents if not it would result in a severe backlash. This was very obvious in this situation, but he knew that they slaves could gain there freedom without shedding any blood. But it was too late for that, things were put into motion that could not be undone. He knew that the negotiations would fail. And in that case they should try to lead them to a peaceful resolution. The rebels should seek allies for they could not do this on there own. Perhaps they were some that even served the Queen that were growing tired with her incompetence or would be willing to see a change. He thought that they would have learned this from the probe but it did not seem apparent. In a world like this peace may not be the only option to appease the people. They were witnessing a cycle that was rapidly reaching Anarchy and a Revolution. Peace must never fail.
  3. <<So it begins. Well I decided to start this series of logs this week since I couldn't come up with a log for John . Like I said to everyone previously this is going to be really long. I don't think most people's Master Thesis's are going to be as long as this. But I assure you all these stories are going to be very fascinating, so even if you never knew Vince I'd recommend reading them anyways since it just a really great set of logs. It's starts off after the last time anyone on the Arcadia ever saw Vince. And now for your reading pleasure.....>> Episode 1 Direct Disobedience Vince was laying back in his seat in one of the Arcadia's shuttle's that he had been using over the last several months for his covert missions. He was trying to relax by listening to some classical music. It really wasn't helping very much since he was still in a highly annoyed mood. He had managed to come back to Arcadia, over the last couple of months, every so often between his missions for Starfleet Intelligence. But he was starting to neglect his duties and it was one of things that was annoying him. That and Starfleet Intelligence's ignorance at what he continually was trying to tell them. He would be able to catch the newly rejuvenated Sloane of Section 31 if they only gave him some leeway in trying to find him. After so many investigations he was beginning to draw his own conclusions on Sloan. As he layed back the computer beeped. He was getting an incoming signal from Earth. "Computer patch it through" he said. The computer gave one of it's blurps. "Proper Security clearance required". He found this interesting since the computer already was set to receive any classified files from Intelligence. He turned to the console and began to key in a few commands and spoke again "Security clearance Vincent Omega-0-2-Alpha." and with that the computer beeped and the screen turned on. It was Admiral Ross from Starfleet Command. "Admiral, what a pleasant surprise." "I'm sure Mr. Godchild. Be sure your computer keeps up with the encryption code." said the Admiral. "Already done Admiral. So what do I owe the pleasure of this, sir?" he replied. "It's about you last mission and the report that we received about it. I was finding your conclusions to be a bit beyond even what we know of at the time." "How so Admiral? The conclusions that I drew are more than feasible. I believe that Sloane's end came on Deep Space Nine. I find it very beyond him to even find a way for life after death." Vince replied. "It's just that most of us believe that Sloane somehow survived the incident and that he is back and he is cooking something up that might costs the lives of Billions of people in the Alpha Quadrant. We know he believes that everyone is still an enemy of the Federation." Vince was starting to get more frustrated with what the Admiral was telling him. "Admiral Ross, as you have undoubtedly read in my reports to Starfleet Intelligence, all my encounters with Sloane after he claimed to have been resurrected have stated that he acted quite differently from what I have known him to be. I believe that the new Sloane is one of the members of Section 31 trying to keep it together by bringing back one of it's most feared members. I find no reason to believe that it is really him." "But also that you have no evidence to show that it really isn't him. Do you Lieutenant?" said the Admiral a little more sharply then previously. "Well then Admiral if you do not want my opinion then I'd recommend that you use someone else to track him down."He said coolly. "Do not insult me Mr. Godchild you know damn well that you cannot disobey a direct order from a superior. If you do not follow my orders Lieutenant I will more than happy to Court Martial you for your continuing insubordince to find Sloane in which...." at that time Vince slammed a his fist down on the side of the console. "DAMN IT ADMIRAL! This is becoming ridiculous! Starfleet doesn't know how to deal with this man. But I do, I can read Sloane like a book. While you idiots tell me that I'm wrong about someone I knew almost all my life...." "Don't you dare speak to me in that tone Lieutenant! I'm not going to involve myself in this. You just remember your mission and do it!" he replied. "You know what Admiral....You can take this mission and shove it. I'm going to do my own investigation and I will find him or who ever it is. You just do one simple thing, if it isn't to hard. Contact Captain Moose and tell him to list me MIA if not Sloane will come snooping around and figure out that coming for him. And believe me Admiral I will find him, and I don't need Starfleet's help." and with that Vince closed the comm before the Admiral could say anything else. He was trying to collect his thoughts. His argument with the Admiral had gotten to him a little. But he knew he had something to do. He was going to find this bastard that had taken so much from him and was still trying to. He knew what he had to do, he set a course for a system that layed near the Federation/Klingon border and there he would get rid of the shuttle so that the Admiral or even the Arcadia couldn't track him down. He knew in the back of his head that because of what he did, his downfall had begun. TBC...... Lieutenant Junior Grade Vincent Godchild Former Assistant Engineer USS Arcadia NCC-1742-E

  6. John sat in his quarters, he was on board the USS Johnson which was going to rendezvous with the Arcadia, he was silently thinking to himself. He wondered if he was truly ready for this huge step into life. He was going to meet his crew, the people he would be working with for quiet some time, his new family to some degree. He knew by accepting an assignment on board a starship that the the ties between him and his family were going to be strained even further. He didn't care much for speaking with his father again, but he was going to miss his sister Michelle. He also hadn't heard anything yet from his mother, perhaps something had come up and was taking up all her time. But each day he grew more and more concerned. "Williams to Ensign Anderson" he heard over the conn. "Yes Lieutenant, go ahead" he replied. "You have an incoming signal from Kronos for you.". His eyes widened "Yes Lieutenant patch me through" he said as he walked over to his display. The image of a young women appeared on the screen, even though she was approaching the age of 50, she looked as though she hadn't aged since her 20's. "Hi mom" said John. "Hello sweetheart, I'm sorry I haven't called you sooner but things have been quite hectic here and I haven't gotten a chance to do anything." replied Julia. He said "It's okay mom I understand I'm just happy to see you"."I wish that I could speak long but I have a meeting in a few minutes and this was the only time I could get away from my duties." she said. "So first thing first, congratulations on graduating from the academy. Second in your class. I am so proud of you John". John replied "Thanks mom I wish you could have been there to see me. It was just one of those moments of pure joy". "I know sweetheart I may not have been there physically but I was there in heart." Julia said. "Now I understand that you and your father didn't make up before you left. Why?". John replied "I tried mom. I really tried. But he is just as arrogant as ever. He was probably mad that I took a tactical position on board the Arcadia. I swear he is so ignorant.". "I know, I know John. But you know he was hoping you'd become a scientist. But I'll try to handle him and calm him down" said Julia with a look of dismay."Look I have something else to tell you. The Ambassador has decided to retire and the new incoming Ambassador has hired a staff his own. So I'm not going to be need anymore on Kronos". John looked in shock "What are going to do mom? Are you heading back to Earth". "Yea I am. But there was something else I wanted to tell you. I've been offered the position of Chief of Staff for the President of the Federation. You know I couldn't possibly pass it up". He was ecstatic to hear the news "Oh my god I don't know what to say mom. I guess congratulations are in order". "Thank you John. I'm going to be taking the Job right away after I finish up with a few things here on Kronos. Speaking of which I have to hurry if not I'm going to be late to my meeting. I'll write you a letter if anything else comes up." she said. "I love you John and I am very proud of the promising man that you have grown to be. Be careful". John replied "I love you too mom, don't worry I will be fine. Bye mom". "Bye sweetheart" she said. And with that the display turned off and the image of his mother disappeared. He now had something to look forward to when he would return to Earth. He would have all of his family there waiting for him. He was just getting himself re-situated when the conn sounded again "Williams to Ensign Anderson" he heard and replied "Yes Lieutenant go ahead". "We are about to rendezvous with the Arcadia in a few minutes" said Williams. "I'll get ready and be waiting in Transporter Room 2. Anderson out". He gathered all of his belongings and headed out to the Transporter Room 2. He had arrived at was standing on the pad awaiting transport. He heard the the transporter chief taking with the Arcadia's Ops officer. "Ready Ensign?" asked the Chief. He nodded and with that the chief engaged and John began to shimmer. And with that shimmer there was to be new beginnings in the life of John Anderson.
